  1. When learning, as I am, it would be great if, before I try something new in a game, I could click a ‘Save Game State’ button so that, when I get it wrong, I could quickly return to where I was and try again (and again, and again!!!). Just a thought.
  2. Thanks for your input guys. I’ve noted all your suggestions. I have Stable 2.7.16.xxxx running fine at present and am expecting delivery of my TrackIR 5 in the next week or two, I will wait till I have that setup and working, prove everything is ‘sound’. Thereafter, will look to also install latest 2.7 Open Beta in parallel with current stable version. Cheers!
  3. Thank you sir, I had yet to discover the square brackets for paging through kneeboard. I guess I was thrown by the appearance of the ‘default page’ before my custom kneeboard pages. You are correct, if I page through my kneeboard the pages are indeed there and I can now see them. Sorry for being so ‘dense’ and thanks again for the heads up.
  4. Hi folks, I’m running latest DCS Standalone, stable version 2.7.16.xxxx DCS is installed on my D:\ drive with my Saved Games folder on my C:\ drive. I’m new to DCS, currently playing two purchased modules FA-18C on Syria map. I’ve downloaded some F18 checklists/Data sheets, though this site, as Kneeboards. I’ve place these Kneeboard .png files in, what I believe to be the correct folder… C:\Users\<My User Name>\Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard\FA-18C_hornet … but they do not show? When I do <Shift> K in my mission I just get an apparently default, empty page (yellow, ruled piece of paper) entitled ‘CV Operations Data’ Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? What have I missed? How do I get the custom kneeboard pages to display for my F18? Cheers
  5. Hi MAXsenna, Thanks for your reply. just so I don’t screw things up! Can you elaborate on how I create a ‘New Saved Games’ folder on installing OB and what I need to do to be able to share the mods/ maps / logbook I’ve already purchased with my stable version for use also with my Open Beta version? Would software suggested above by silverdevil make the job any easier? regards TonyRS Thank you for the advice silverdevil, will definitely look into it.
  6. Hi folks, I have installed, and am currently using, latest standalone version 2.7.xxxx of DCS World with no problems I would like to install and try the latest version of DCS World standalone 2.7.xxx Open beta WITHOUT affecting my current installation of the stable version. i.e. running both standalone stable and Open Beta versions in parallel on the same PC. Is anyone else doing this? What steps would I need to carry out to install the latest standalone Open Beta WITHOUT affecting my current standalone stable installation? Thnx
  7. Hi folks, Just thought I would share... Still new to DCS. I originally connected my new 'self build' PC to my monitor using HDMI cable (as, I think, original setup/install required it) and since (for a month or so) I have just continued playing DCS using the HDMI Cable. However, today, I found I had a Display Port Cable in the box my monitor came in so I thought I'd give it a try. Disconnected HDMI and connected PC to Monitor using Display Port Cable; fired up PC and WOW! I find the difference incredible. Gone from what (I thought) was pretty good screen output to a vastly improved, more 'photo-realistic' screen output. Surprised by the huge improvement by just swapping from HDMI to Display Port. Just saying... Onwards and Upwards...
  8. Ordered, arriving late Aug!
  9. Hi Saca111, Art-J, Steel Jaw, Thanks for the info. Will 'take the plunge' Rgds TonyRS
  10. Thank you Chinga. Encouraging... if someone confirms the same for Windows 10 Pro I'll 'take the plunge'
  11. Just (almost) completed my PC build to get into DCS. One thing I'm missing is Track IR. I was just about to purchase when I read that TrackIR 5 software does not work on windows with the latest NVIDIA GPU drivers installed (version 516.59 Dated 06 June 2022). I built my PC after June 2022 so the latest NVIDIA GPU Driver is the only one that has been installed on my PC. It has been suggested I use an 'older driver' but, I'm not keen to 'revert' to 'older stuff' Can anyone confirm how widespread this issue might be? Does everyone who has upgraded NVIDIA drivers to latest version (516.59 Dated 06 June 2022) have a problem running TrackIR 5 or is the issue particular to some peoples setups? Can anyone confirm they are successfully running TrackIR 5 with DCS on Windows 10 Pro with a RTX 3080ti 12GB GPU with the (above) latest drivers? Cheers
