  1. I was using Preset K and noticed the sharpness slightly reduced, switched to Preset J and it seems the clarity and sharpness are better. Can anyone confirm this?

  2. DLSS4 Preset ‘K’ and a 32” 4K flat monitor. In game sharpening currently set to .6. I also used a registry entry to gain pack the Nvidia Control Panel Sharpening setting. I set that to .6 as well. This right now is my preferred setting, however lime Nineline said, it’s a matter of personal preference.

  3. Maybe shader build on new map? I was having microstutters on an otherwise high end system. Syria used to have this problem, however went through so many performance optimization updates. I tinkered with my setting a bit, googled anything to reduce stutters, so did a few things like unpark my CPU cores, disable power.msc, use Project Lasso to use Pcores only in DCS, and found it useful to set my 144Hz 32" 4K monitor at 60Hz in windows display settings, cap dcs to 60FPS in NCP, and turn off gsync and vsync. Pretty smooth now.

  4. Title says it all, after updating to the latest OB, I created multiple 2-ship aircraft, with mine as the human controlled lead, AI being the wingman. Multiple types of fighter and attack aircraft. When I press either / or the PTT keybind, the advertised AI comms tacform items are not present in any of the menus. This has been reported on Discord, as well as the link to the forum topic located on the OB Beta release notes. No official feedback has been received.

  5. I have a 32" 4k 144Hz Monitor. set to 60Hz in Windows 11 Display Settings. Exporting to two 60FPS MFDs. NCP set to max 60FPS. Gsync on, Vsync off, nicely smooth, however there is some intermittent stuttering over cities on the Syria map. Turn off gsync in NCP and turn on Vsync, much of the stuttering has disappeared.

Just a heads up - you may be misled into thinking a terrain mod (this or that) is causing a performance drop for you. You may actually be experiencing this

    https://forum.dcs.world/topic/366205-performance-trees-huge-performance-hit-especially-up-close/

Also a reminder: MSAA is currently broken.

I usually fly the A-10CII, however often dabble in helicopters like the Kiowa, Apache, and Chinook. The FPS in helicopters near forested areas really takes a hit, especially in helicopters!

  7. Currently in DCS, we only have M257 normal illumination rockets, and LUU-2 normal illumination flares on a SUU-25 launcher pod. At night when when I deploy illumination flares for troops requesting it, or during AFAC missions, the normal illumination flares completely drown out the scene from being able to search for additional targets when using the Litening pod in IR mode.

A-10C's in Afghanistan used IR illumination flares, specifically the LUU-19 IR illumination flare on either a SUU 25, 42, or 44 launcher. Any chance we can get this implemented in DCS?

I've posted requesting help with this style topic and no one ever helped me. I watched some YouTube videos, learned the process, tinkered around on my own for hours and hours. Then I joined this livery discord and a few people went into voice chat with me and clarified few things I was missing.

    Join here and good luck.

  9. Hey guys I have Photoshop with little to no experience. I'm looking to edit cockpit textures, specifically for the A-10C II. I am so lost, when I load normal.dds files, I am getting multilayer single color layers similar to diffuse layers. Anyone with some patients point me in the right direction?

Ive been trying to fix that for months, but thats only on the winwing mpcd trash I have in my pit. the brightness on my TEDAC are awesome, its also fairly clear too. my only beef is that the monitor I have has a matte finished screen and just has a nasty glare when the sun hits it.

I guess different per whatever aftermarket monitor we are using for MFDs, TEDAC, etc. This creates an excellent balance for me. The biggest thing was I could just switch the in game MFDs to day, so my exported MFD brightness was appropriate, however when I look around the cockpit w/ TrackIR (On night missions), the in game MFDs are like bright flashlights right in my face.

I dont know about you, but my TADS export looks good. Granted the resolution of the monitor isnt greater than 600x800, but the actual monitors in these aircraft dont have to be high definition LCD. Unless someone knows better, Im fairly certain there isnt an aircraft out there that has resolution beyond 1080p. And to be fair, 1080p was high tech resolution back when the majority of these aircraft came online and NASA wasnt even using that to watch recorded shuttle launches. Some people really dont appreciate just how cheap the US govt can be.

For me in the Hawg the only time I use this is at night, when the MFDs are set to night in the sim, my exported ones are super dim. This UIMask mod fixes that.

I've added RoughMet textures and some minor details. The original textures are still the same, the change is subtle and more noticable in reflections

Will this be via the next OB update or the download link at the beginning of this post?
