  1. First of all - I really love Vaicom! The immersion it creates, especially in the Tomcat, is fantastic! However, every time I update DCS, VoiceAttack or TrackView, something breaks. Either the module is not recognized or the Comms menu cannot be opened anymore or TrackView does not record. Sometimes all of it. I know that I have to reset the lua code in Vaicom after DCS updates or repairs. I know that deleting the Export.lua might solve things. The Comms menu might come back after commenting out the Vaicom line in the Export.lua. But in the end it all is mostly hit and miss. Could somebody please elaborate on how to get everything running properly and how to update those programs without breaking anything?
  2. Considering that the target and IP positions can be only entered in 100ft increments into the WRCS (plus INS drift error) it seems clear to me, that for non-nuclear weapons delivery all the computer guided delivery modes are rather useless.
  3. Does the corridor need to be actively chosen? What happens if you just enter CAA mode without touching the Pinky Switch? Wouldn’t the center corridor be selected as default?
  4. I guess “UI Designer” was not an existing job title back then
  5. Now that’s smart: adding even more mental load in a close combat situation.
  6. I understand that in CAA mode the Pinky Switch alters the scan corridor. However, how does one change the A-A weapon whilst being in that mode then?
  7. What about the flight path marker in the landing mode? That one should of course be referenced to outside, right?
  8. Karons site is fantastic! Thx for pointing out. Many valuable comments above - thx to everybody contributing! From my understanding everything that applies to the F-14s BVR tactics is also valid for the F-4 with the peculiarity that - in order for the pulse radar to be able to acquire a target - one would need to stay at or below target altitude, right?
  9. Considering the F-4s absent look-down shoot-down capabilities (flying high and fast probably does not work) I wonder what the actual BVR tactics for the Phantom would be. Could somebody knowledgeable please elaborate?
  10. To my understanding Dive Toss was not very popular amongst some of the pilots because the system itself was not very reliable. I remember one quote: "when it worked, it was very precise. But a lot of times the system was inop."
  11. Do you have any updates on that matter as the new version just came out?
  12. Fantastic, thanks! That was exactly the information I was looking for!
