Matt, this is really a big surprise! I never did expect that.
Thank you. Download in progress...

Good idea. Most of them I knew already, but some not and it is good to have them at one place.
Thx

Totaly Off Topic, not worth to read any longer.
btw: best wishes ;-)

Maybe I should make a separate topic with all A-10 related documents? First post would be modified to include list of all links and brief descriptions. I know that all of these documents have already been "found", even on this forum, but they get buried rather quickly. And it's difficult to use "Search" if you don't know exactly what you are looking for. Words like "Manual" are used too often here to help.
And maybe the mods could make it Sticky, if it proves valuable enough. :)
Had the same idea ;-)
Don't hesitate to do it.

Maybe you know this documents, but for sake of completeness they are mentioned here.
2 docs with lots of useful stuff:
F-16 manual with tons of graphics: Flight formations, Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground, Air Refueling,...
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/docs/16v5.pdf
Close Air Support doctrine. Lots of schematic diagrams.
http://www.fas.org/irp/doddir/dod/jp3_09_3.pdf
Enjoy.
[edit]: i know I had one with detailed instructions for a-10 pilots, for example rescue commands in conjunction with choppers. There were images how to fly around the choppers in order to protect them. Can't find it right now. Anyone remember the doc, the link?

Anyone interested in ...
Who do you think would say no. Especially at the moment where we meet here at a forum for a nonexistent simulator. ;-)
YES. DEFINITELY YES.
That would be great!
-
Didn't find IT "easy"...
Anyway, I thought it would be good to have a Link here in the forums. i think may of us will search for the Manual at the moment.
Your extended version would be highly welcome!

Hi,
Does anybody have a working link to an A-10A Flight Manual at Hand?
Thanks
Hedgehog

I will buy it. But only if it's in colour.
It was so disappointing to receive a b&w Black Shark manual. Now I use my self printed version again :(

when you plug them in.
How are they plugged in? Graphic Card or is USB possible?

ATC in iTuens, that's great.
So bad that in germany it's not allowed to hear ATC and therefore it's not published!

A statement like that requires quite a bit of insight into ED's organization and business plans.
No, it does not necessarily, it depends on your assumptions.
It IS obviously: FC is a total different platform. Developing for that platform is of no worth for the DCS platform. And with limited ressources (number of programmers working for ED) you have to divide your development efforts on two distinct projects. Which MUST slow down the DCS project.
The only argumentation which would count against that would be (in my opinion) when the FC programmers, designers and project managers are totally different people than that working for the DCS project and they would not be interchangable. Then it would be of no interest in repect to the DCS project what the FC coders are doing because they do not provide capacity to the DCS project.
To state, what argument is the right one, I agree, you would have to have an insight into ED's personal and organisational structures.

Read the very good articles about trimming the KA-50 at SIMHQ: http://simhq.com/_air13/air_429a.html

ps. Glad some of you are as excited about the Hog's switches on its base as I am. But those aren't the only new features TM are introducing with this setup. Watch out for further information regarding the throttle and the stick.
This kind of feeding us with small amounts of informations will kill me one day!
Can't wait!!
Thanks anyway, James

Personally don't bother with XP anymore - However for Vista/Win 7, herewith Download Link for relevant Software package -
http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=50&cid=1
The DL section on the Thrustmaster's site for the Foxy software (not: drivers!) has the date: 2004-07-04
How do you come to the conclusion that this software is for Win7 or even that someone is working on it?
-
James Hallows in working in conjunction with Thrustmaster on the development of Foxy specifically for the HOTAS Warthog ;)
So maybe I'm a bit out of date.
Where did you find some information about development especially for HOTAS Warthog?
What I found:
- The news page from James Hallows had last update on 2004!! (http://www.flyfoxy.com/downloads.html)
- The Foxy software has a comment: Development likely to continue.
- The download site http://cougar.frugalsworld.com is offline.
Doesn't sound trustworthy to me.
The last version of foxy I installed is Foxy4 beta and as I remember there was said: it should run under Win XP.
OK, it does it's job (under XP). What's about further development? Especially for HOTAS Warthog?
-
This pics look really hot. I would definitive buy that controller.
But: how to program? Thrustmaster does not have an own Controller Programming Software. Today we have to use the old and unsupported foxy software. This software will not work with a new controller.
Or does anybody have different informations?

We cannot promise FC-2.0 compatibility for all future DCS modules.
It is obvious that no one will "promise".
I think what most of the participants of this discussion mean is the following point: It is a huge gap between FC and DCS Black Shark from a technology point of view. No one did expect that this step will be done. But ED handled it. (By the way, congrats to that!).
Between the coming Products of DCS there should not be that big difference by means of technology.
Therefore I'm wondering why it is said, that FC may not be compatible to DCS A-10C. And more of that: I do not understand why ED is always arguing that Black Shark and A-10C "may" be compatible.
Honestly: what kind of need is for two or more DCS Series (Black Shark, A-10C, ...) which are not compatible for online coop? ...
-
What is it now?
An engine limitation or just not done (tools are out and waiting...)?
Cannot be both.
-
This look pretty cool and my hope is that we get the hog pretty soon.
But I miss all the videos we normally see LONG before the release date... so my fear is that we have to wait some longer time for it...
-
They are pretty much the same. There are a couple pieces that may or may not be installed depending on the role the jet is assigned too. Here is a good book u might check out. It has several pics of the A, B, and C models.
WHERE is that book?

Do not move my post with serious problems to the beta forum which I do not have access to at the moment. How should I read any answers which will provide some help for me?
Thank you.
