  1. I don't actually remove the spring, i just back off the nut all the way, as far as I can without it coming off. You can turn the damper down a little too just to give you a little bit of feel. I find thats good enough for me. That way if I want to fly fixed wing I can just lean down and tighten the nut back up.
  2. I flew the Huey for a very long time with the HOTAS Warthog setup with a 10cm extension and the standard spring. This worked really well. Remember that real Hueys have a force centering stick when the force trim is turned on (dead stick otherwise). You should still be able to move the stick around without much effort though. I've just recently moved to a LaserWing FFB stick so you can set the spring force and also have the stick go dead when you push the trimmer button. Going really well but the stick has a small amount of notching from the motors. As for the collective, I just use the Warthog throttle, you get used to it pretty quick. I am also using MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals with the spring removed.
  3. Legend. That was it. Good to know.
  4. Hello, I wanted to start a new thread but wondering if I could just continue on from this one. I have recently start using the LaserWing FFB Stick. It goes really good, however I am having some issues with the Huey trim system. I have set the stick to provide some centering force (not a lot) as I understand this is how the real Huey works. When I push the trim button on the cyclic the stick goes into dead mode as it should. If I then hold the cyclic forward so the Huey is in a cruise attitude and release the trimmer button, the stick over compensates and wants to move forward a little further than where I have it. It's almost like its reading how far I've moved the stick from center and then applying that to the new position. So if you have trimmed the cyclic forward it uses that value from center and applies it again to the new position that exagerates it even more. If I hold the stick slightly forward and keep pressing the trim button it wants to move the stick further and further forward. Is anyone else having similar issues with their FFB stick/s, regardless of brand?
  5. I just did this mission for the first time. I am still running the old engine model though so getting off the top takes a bit of finesse but managed it all the first time. There is a nice valley you can take down and I was running NVG's for the last part of the final run. I loved this mission. That said, my FM homing wasn't working. Did anyone else have this issue? I get the initial posters frustration. If you aren't proficient in the Huey I could see it being next to imposible. If you are proficient then its great.
  6. I played about with this today as I have had this issue before. Next time, try the below and see if it helps. Before you shut down, Turn off the inverter on the top panel and the exterior lights. Leave the anit-collision on if you want the realism. Turn off all of your radios, IFF, flare/chaff dispenser, armaments etc on the center panel. Shut down the engine and turn off the battery master. Your battery will now be isolated. Wait a few minutes until you are ready to start up again. You can set the overhead panel dian VM to Batt if you want. Ess buss will also give you the Battery voltage. You should have at least 26 volts to start. I've seen real Huey starts where they say 25/26 volts is just enough. This should drop down to about 15V when you hit the starter. Once you get past 10% RPM on the gas generator you should get light off and the voltage should start to increase not long after. See if you have any luck.
  7. Hypoxia came in for the Huey in the 2nd Aug update. I just took the Huey up again and hypoxia does start to take effect from about 25,000' and progressivly gets worse the higher you go. It starts with peripheral blurring that closes in, like tunnel vision, until you can't see much of anything. As you start to descent it starts to wear off around 17,000'.
  8. Ok. Good to know. So there is some range programed in as far as hypoxia goes?
  9. Thanks for the reply. So is this more likely a MP server issue than a problem with the Huey? If it is should I delete this post?
  10. I was flying the Huey multicrew the other day when we noticed a few things that seemed to be bugs. I have attached a track file with them, I think most of what we noticed happened towards the end of the flight. 1. I was in the pilot's seat and the DG and Compass lined up. To my co-pilot, the compass and DG were about 100degrees different. When he changed to DG to line up with the compass, I saw them to be about 100degrees out. 2. We then went and did some sling loading. He was flying as copilot and I was monitoring. While moving barrels, to me I could see the hook doing orbits around the helo, and I could not see the rope. To him, everything looked fine. 3. We also did some mountain flying. We were up around 18,000' with no loss of consciousness, I don't know if this was an MP server setting or not. 4. At the end of the flight, after sling loading, the helicopter seemed to shut down for me in the pilot seat. I was pilot monitoring. For my co-pilot the helo seemed to be working without issue. For me it was completely stopped, rotor stopped, and I was flying around in god mode. This is my first bug report and post so please let me know if I have gone wrong anywhere, or left any info out. My track file is also 87Meg. Any idea how to get it below 50 so I can attach it?
