But we've had the MiG-21 since like 2014...

For Active mode I use the ground radar in conjunction with the HSD. Ill lock my SPI over an area close to the RWR contact shown on the HSD. Climb to 30-40k+ and launch. The LD10 will launch and loft to 80-90k and stretch its legs and hit whatever "ACTIVE" source is at or near the SPI. The key is there has to be an active radar at or around your SPI for it to home in on.
