  1. For those looking, and since it apparently is not important enough to put a sticky in the performance bug section, the issue was the Intel P-Core E-Core. My issue was resolved by disabling Core #8. I see this was hit upon a year ago and now it is pretty well know that the issue is the Intel Cores, so not really understanding why a sticky has not been made.
  2. I have been hunting down solutions for sporadic performance on my 13700k and 4090. This ranged from sudden extremely long load times, that I could get to finally continue loading by simply opening task manager, to long freezes in the game, to very unresponsive menus after existing the mission that had the long freezes. I was just experiencing this, and it continued after killing DCS and restarting 4 or 5 times. After killing it the last time, I tried the trick of disabling Core #8 (same windows session not a restart) and I played from start to finish through a mission without the faintest hint of a freeze or studder of any type. I have a friend with a similar gen processor and 3000 series GPU that had the same symptoms that this core disable seems to have addressed right away. I have seen this issue referenced, and even the fix I tried and another temporary fix as far back as 2023, so why has it not at least been acknowledged by ED? Even if it is an INTEL issue, with affecting and ED product you would expect them to collaborate and find out what is going on. If they have acknowledged this, then I apologize, but I have not seen it.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. He ended up uninstalling and starting over. Went through the same process and it worked. Something just got jacked up along the way but its working now so all is good.
  4. I was using that as an example but they are still not responding. The same applies to all entities, even when manually tuning to their frequency. He is waiting about 2 to 3 seconds between.
  5. SOLUTION: Removed , reinstalled and set up again. Worked as expected. Trying to help someone out with their VAICOM but they use the Easy Comms and Instant Select, which I am not familiar with. I looked at all of his settings in Voice Attack and VAICOM and they seem correct. Easy Comms is enabled in his DCS. Log shows the command is recognized, for example "place the wheelchocks", but then it goes to "awaiting additional input" and nothing happens. Issuing the same command via F keys works. We have also confirmed and manually tuned to the appropriate frequency. I personally do not get the "captured sentence" in my log file. Mine show recognized command and then the response. Any help appreciated.
  6. Thank you!! I don't know how that happened because I have never used the chat window and did not know it existed. I guess I inadvertently activated it and moved it somehow. Regardless.. thanks!!
  7. I have two MFD displays plus my main, and everything has worked fine up until yesterday when the inflight messages started appearing as shown rather than on the left edge. Is there a file I can edit or maybe delete so this is moved back to default location, without wiping everything out and having to start over? null
  8. I have been unable to get a definitive answer in reference to the Intercom on the F16. I have had some people say "they believe" it is for communication with the ground crew only, in which case there would be no dedicated aircraft to aircraft comms other than tuning to the same frequency on COMM 1 or 2. Is that correct?
  9. Ok so I did misunderstand you at first. He must be still using an older version since he tested it the day I commented on his video and said it behaved just like the video. I will assume the speed of the scan changed as well since we have been unable to replicate the speed shown in his video.
  10. Followed the video step by step, including 30 degree offset so unless there were settings made not depicted in the video, my aircraft was in the same mode / state as his.
  11. So if its correct, then his video has outdated information? Just wanting to make sure I am clear on that because I commented on his video yesterday and he stated he tried it again, and it worked as per his video. At 22 seconds in the video I attached, he is able to adjust azimuth at 10 in DBS2 and the scan is quite fast. I was unable to replicate. Not trying to be difficult, just trying to determine if the info is outdated. radar.mp4
  12. This is a short track just do demonstrate 3 things I noticed right away when following the tutorial. 1. In the video he changes the azimuth while in DBS1 and 2. I cannot get this to happen. It will only change in NORM or EXP. 2. When set to 10 degree azimuth in his video, the sweep is quite fast. When I change to 10 degree the sweep is very slow. He is also able to slew while in that state but it is so low when I try that I have to move it a little and wait for a refresh to see where it moved. 3. Image is not nearly as clear on radar. There are other discrepancies as well that I will provide in a track later. marker.trk
  13. This worked great. I used it only for making my WinWing MFD display brighter, no other effects. I notice a slight jitter and even some minor shadow flickering that I do not get when running without it. Any ideas on what I might check? RTX 4090 / i7-13700k / 64GB / all drivers are M.2.
  14. Ok I don't know why I thought that had to be aligned. So just the Flight path marker and the steering line then? Hopping on and giving this a shot right now! Thanks
  15. Maybe I have misinterpreted what this option does but when I enter an aircraft that is already started, despite my throttle being at idle, the assisted shutdown initiates immediately. I do have my throttle set where off is assisted shutdown but idle is assisted start so not sure why it is shuttintg down.
  16. I am having some issue with CCRP and it is likely my lack of understanding of the HUD symbology. All necessary systems are operating. I can successfully drop the ordinance and hit the targets but I fail more than not and I think it is due to my flight path marker. I use my targeting computer and Helmet Display and while flying parallel to the target area to acquire visual of the target or target area, then use TMS up to designate. I continue flying to get distance and altitude. I climb to about 12,000 to be in the same general scenario as the tutorial. I turn to target and see my target area on the ground. I have no problem lining up the target designated on ground, the steering line and, excuse my lack of correct terminology, the cross at the top. The issue is my steering point. It always seems to be off to one side or the other drastically. I have to maneuver around and find the correct approach. What am I missing?
  17. Does anyone know if there is a way to enable force feedback for canon fire? The screen visibly shakes and was thinking adding a slight bit of vibration to the stick would enhance that. I have a force feedback stick and feedback is enabled in settings. Is there a place to enable it for a control like canon fire?
  18. This is still unsolved for the most part. I had two 16GB (32GB. I added two more since it was suggested RAM amount may be the issue. That was a disaster and also when I figured out that my motherboard only supports 2 DIMMS. Adding the second kit actually caused all of my games to lock up within seconds of launching. Still wanting to eliminate RAM amount as the issue, I removed all 4 DIMMS and installed two new 32GB Dimms for a total of 64GB. Confident that ram amount is not the issue as the system is back to all games running great with the exception of DCS having its random performance issues. In case I did not mention it, I also eliminated all hardware. I replaced the MB, CPU, RAM, GPU, M.2 (only installed one). Fresh install of windows and all drivers, bios, etc. I get the same occurrence of DCS random performance issues. I have not tried every module but do know that it happens with the F16 and SU25.
  19. Ok thanks. I was thinking it would be nice to have your keys for M1 set for Air to Air and at the same time you activated M1, it put the aircraft in Air to Air Mode.
  20. Maybe it is not possible but hoping there is a way. Wanting the mode switch to actually change the aircrafts mode. For example, if I switch the mode dial to M1, it will put the aircraft in Air to Air mode at the moment I switch it.
  21. Do you know what it is labeled as in the controls?
  22. Is it possible to zoom on the MFD Radar image to be able to see target separation better?
  23. Yes I have tried that all. I do not think RAM is the issue. HWINFO shows min / max / avg system RAM usage. After playing I always check this and the results are typically the same, whether the game ran smoothly or has started acting up. For the whole system, average usage during the sim is around 16gb usage and max is 21gb. I also have friends that we fly together on our dedicated server. They have lower end systems overall and less ram (16gb). They will continue to fly while I'm frozen. I have run memtest and it came back clean. Did a completely fresh install of the game on my 4 NVME drives and closed down all background apps that were not necessary. Statistically, I have titles that push my GPU and CPU and Ram usage more than what I am throwing at it with DCS and they run with zero issues. Appreciate your help and suggestions. I will just hold off on any future mod purchases until I figure this out.
  24. Is there anything unusual about the terrain_ini 0 that appears when the game is taking an usually long time to load? It seems that when it loads normally, I only see terrain_ini 1.
  25. Yes my power profile is set. I turned down pagefile to allow windows to manage and it set it to 7168MB. Just played for an hour no issue, but I have done that before with it set to auto. Other than the issue occurring daily, it is not consistent enough to track it down.
