I have a couple questions about the quest 3 and DCS VR. Is the 4090 required for high-quality VR with the quest 3 or will the 4080 super work as well or the 7900 XTX. Also, what are others running for connection between the computer and the quest 3 which gives the best experience/smoothness/clarity quest link with the cable, quest link air or virtual desktop. I am not using the steam version of DCS. I usually skip a generation or two. So I can either wait for the up coming cards this year or pull the trigger now and skip one or two generation’s. I’m just starting out in DCS and learning the planes so I have a graphics card that will handle VR OK. But the low quality is most likely cause some motion sickness. wondering if I should wait to get a high Fidelity graphics card until after I learned the planes. How does foveated rendering work on the quest 3 if the quest 3 does not have eye tracking? The wiki link refers to the quest pro which has it and is different than the quest 3. I’m new to the DCS vr scene and interested in a better performance.

on to another question. for the stick the paddle is both a button and a slider. is it possible to set the slider portion as zoom in and return. i set the slider but is there a way set the default position as center and the the depress as the action. when i set it as soon as i pull it, it zoo ms like i want it but then when returned its all the way to the end. please see picture for refrence

thank you i will end up using the stick for the radar eventually for now im trying use it for training purposes and not to the radar portion yet. plus doing it in vr so i figured it would help a little. not the end of the world though. i look at joystick gremlin and that program look confusing as hell so i might just give up on that for now.

Will that interfere with the simapp pro bindings?

with the ex add-on to the f-16 stick is there a way to use one of the extra joystick buttons as the mouse pointer. i would like to use two buttons on the f15ex throttles as left and right click then use the joystick as the mouse so that i do not have to use the mouse in the click able cockpit planes. is that possible if so how can i do it?

hello all i just received my flight sim equipment the Orion 2 with 15EX throttle with finger lifts and the f16ex stick and Skywalker rudder pedals. is there a place on the forums when binding files can be downloaded for this equipment setup for various planes? would make jumping in the sim a little faster if all i have to do is minor adjustments to the bindings rather than binding everything. thank you in advance. right now i'm learning the F16 then probably moving to the f15C and E.

Sounds good to me I don’t really chase frame rates but I know what’s acceptable. Im just trying to stay away from stuttering. Are there any concerns with the 4080 16GB of ram seeing as games and updates are getting more demanding?

What frame rate are you getting and quality settings high?

Pimax crystal will be out of my price range. I already have the quest 3 for a while now so not looking to purchase any headsets. Are you able to get high settings in VR or non VR?

Would like to see A.i driven coms for air field, inflight refueling, carrier, etc. with voice rather than keyboard. Which would help those in VR and non VR since they can bind the coms to the stick like in the real world. i know Microsoft flight sim is starting to introduce this feature In order to make coms more realistic.

That’s what I was thinking getting the f16EX stick makes sense with all the extra buttons to be versatile. Going to put that order in. Thank you all for the response's

Hello all I’m just getting into DCS(VR) and looking for some guidance on Hotas recommendations. I am looking at the winwing orion2 with the f15ex throttle. I figured the extra buttons would help with different planes. The stick is where I need advice. I will be starting with the F16. Then moving to the F15 since both of those are my favorite planes. That being said should I purchase the f16 stick or the f18/f15 stick? Which one is more versatile to be used with other planes? I will move on to the F18 plane but unsure how long it will take me to learn the F16 and F15. Eventually I will have multiple planes before having multiple sticks so not sure again which one would translate better for multiple plane setups. Thank you in advance
