**WELCOME AVIATORS TO THE LUFTFORSVARETS GRUPPE** Luftforsvarets Gruppe operates under the command of the Royal Norwegian Air Force within the DCS framework, contributing personnel and units for missions during peacetime, crisis, and conflict—both domestically and internationally. The Air Force is responsible for aerial surveillance, the exercise of national authority, and the protection of Norwegian sovereignty. It also oversees the operation of the nation’s search and rescue helicopter fleet. Headquartered at Rygge in south-eastern Norway, the Chief of the Air Force—supported by the Air Staff—is charged with force generation and operational readiness. Student aviators begin the Undergraduate Pilot Training course, which includes Ground School, Basic Airman Training, Elementary Flight Training, and academic instruction at the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy. New bases are under development, and advanced capabilities such as the F-35 fighter aircraft (incoming), AJS-37 Viggen, and various NATO-aligned helicopters are being integrated into the force structure. As a committed NATO member, the RNoAF plays an active role in allied operations, regularly contributing fighter pilots to defend Norwegian and allied airspace. **NOTE** This program offers a comprehensive flight training experience, featuring one-on-one instruction tailored to each student. To participate in the course, Student Aviators are required to have the following: • The Kola Map • A head tracking system or virtual reality (VR) headset • A hands-on throttle and stick (HOTAS) setup • The MB-339 trainer jet module And any other required modifications or programs deemed necessary by command. Naval Fighter Weapons School (DCS) is a training division under the Naval Air Training Command (NATC). Our goal is to train Student Naval Aviators how to become the best fighter pilots in the world. In order to do this, training must be done in a strict, regulated fashion. All students will attend NATC, to learn basic flight engineering. Starting out in corpus Christi, and any up in Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, students will be given all of the tools necessary to be the best. And if those students can prove to be the best, they may even be invited to attend Top Gun. An intensive dogfighting and weapon training program. **NAVAL AIR TRAINING COMMAND** The Naval Air Training Command operates Training Air Wing 4 out of Corpus Christi, Texas. It conducts operations in five Naval Air Stations in three states. The Mission of Naval Air Training Command is to train the world’s finest combat quality aviation professionals, delivering them at the right time, in the right numbers, and at the right cost. **Flight School: Four Phases** Naval Flight School consists of four phases: **Aviation Pre-flight Indoctrination.** Located at Corpus Christi, Texas. All Student Naval Aviators (SNA) start here learning the basic theory of flight in class. **Primary Flight Training.** SNAs will then head to Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. They will learn basic flying skills in a piston engine propeller plane. **Intermediate Flight Training.** Located at Meridian, Mississippi. SNAs will transfer to a jet trainer to undertake more mission oriented skills. **Advanced Flight Training** Depending on their jet choice, AFT will focus on a specific skill set required for that airframe. SNAs must choose their pipeline here and stick with the program until they are completely finished. **Fleet Replacement Squadron.** Once all training is complete, the newly commissioned Naval Aviator will be placed into the FRS. From here, missions will be available, as well as annual training.
