X56 Hotas VR control lost, 2D works great
Gunner4968 replied to Gunner4968's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Am I in the correct forum for this? I started a new topic. -
Mouse bindings gone, need a working mouse profile.

Well, I did it again. Posted before taking the time to think it through. I simply reset the mouse bindings to default. Still do not see how to set this as a solution. -
X56 Hotas VR control lost, 2D works great
Gunner4968 replied to Gunner4968's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I know it should be simple, but I am not seeing where to mark my reply to my own topic as a soulution. When I started, I remember seeing that button, but now can not find. -
In the early days of my DCS, I somehow lost the mouse bindings file. The .lua file was overwritten, or just not sure what I did, but it's gone. I looked through the forum for somekind of soluition, and came up dry. Is there a source for the default binding files for when a simmer does opps! Any help woule be greatly appreciated.

X56 Hotas VR control lost, 2D works great
Gunner4968 replied to Gunner4968's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I must admit, I acaused this entire problem early on in setting up my X56 HOTAS. In working with the .lua files I ended up with multiple .lua files in the config\input directory. There were conflicting control settings causing the pitch and roll in VR mode to fight over control of the F18C stick. Once I removed the offending file, everything went back to as it should be. Not to sure how to mark this as a solution. I will re-read the rules of the forum, and try to do better in the future. Thanks for your paitence. -
X56 Hotas VR control lost, 2D works great
Gunner4968 replied to Gunner4968's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Sorry, bumped the enter key before was ready to submit. Ok, the problem is, when using the X56 Hotas in 2D, control of the F18C is normal and no problems at all. When using the same usb ports, all having there own power, and with the power injector in the Quest 3 link cable, control of pitch and roll are extreamely erratic. There is little or no control of these axies. I have tried verious other usb ports, both directly in back of computer, and splitting the joystick and throttle into differant usb port locations. The result is the same reguardless of where these devices are plugged into. This should not be so hard. I hope someone has seen this before, and has some kind of solution. I have contacted Logitech and they just point the finger to DCS or Quest 3. They are not much help. This forum is where I get the best support. You guys rock! -

Excellent point. That is exactly what I have been doing. However, this sim is so much fun, it is hard to slow down. I will try. Thanks for the advice. -

Wow, that was the problem. Really have to be quick on the gear! I started a new topic last time because that is what I thought I was being told to do. Then it was combined. On getting the iron bombs to release, each time I dropped a bomb, a new bomb would re-appear under the jet. What the heck! I get the feeling I may not live long enough to master this thing. Why would the bombs regenerate after each drop? Should I have put this in a new topic? -

Gunner4968 replied to Gunner4968's topic in Bugs and Problems
Have followed the tutorial for CCIP bombing, and tried both the keyboard command "RAlt + Space" and my weapons release pickle button on my stick. All I see is the drop line in the hud flashing. The bombs still do not release. Thinking about reloading DCS. Bombs Will Not Release2.trk -

Hope I'm not taking advantage of your time. I searched the F18C section and was not able to find exactly my problem. I am including a track where I was simply trying to drop iron bombs on any target. I carefully checked my Weapons Release button on my stick to make sure it was set to Weapons Release. I have been able to fire rockets with that pickle button. After each attemp to drop any of the bombs on my load, I checked to see if any bombs were missing under the jet. It seems like a very simple thing. I have copied the video tutorials exactly and still no bomb release. I am useing the CCIP mode. I have not tried Manual mode. That might be my next step. If you have any idea what I could be doing wrong, please lay it on me. As always, ever grateful for your time. Bombs Will Not Release.trk -

Thanks, I was working on the laser guided bombing just prior to this tutorial, and I was over focused on target designation. -
I had the same issue using a usb buss. Also had auto shutdowns when just adding a 6 ft extension to my Hotas. I am thinking that the x56 Hotas is a power hungry controller and the drop caused by even a little more cable is more than DCS can handle. If I plug directly into built in USB ports with my Hotas, No problems. I am going to try lowering the intensity of the leds on the X56 Hotas to see if that helps with the power loading on the system.

Wow, Dughhh Not thinking. Thanks so much. I am sure there will be more questions. Funny, I should have known that. I retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Fire Control Tech. Getting on in years, and have forgotten so much. It will do me some good to tackle this simulator. Thanks again for the help.

New to DCS and the F-18C Module. On startup, not able to get radar to scan. The vertical scan line stuck in middle of display. Any help greatly appreciated. On Windows 11. Cockpit switch status provided in two images attached.
