  1. Well it is either that or they develop the API so that a 3rd party can do it... Otherwise most people's flowchart for DCS will continue to be: 1. buy new 40€ addon 2. learn for 6-7 days 3. complete the single player scenarios 4. go online, get shot down by FC3 aircraft 5. go to step 1 Don't take me wrong it is an excellent business model, like Apple's :D But in order to keep people hooked to DCS in the long term it definitely needs more dynamism and a more interactive AI...

  3. The aircraft can be landed smoothly provided you use the correct technique... However the bumps are to rough. The Gmeter is getting spikes from 0 to +2g while rolling. As stiff as the real aircraft might be, this has been clearly overmodeled...
  4. I'm havin problems as well trying to have them attack targets in many missions of the GOW stock campaign. In those missions they are answering negative/unable/etc to my "attack my target" commands, as well as to datalink targets. They will only attack air defenses. In other missions, however, they work as expected. I have the theory that the behavior above happens in missions where the targets do not appear in the F10 view with fog of war visibility option as I have encounter this situation quite often.

    Sorry for bumping but just came across this topic and seems an interesting feature that no other sim is properly simulating. So, my 2 cents on the difficulties commented by the ED team: I partly agree as this hasn't been done before in other sims, but personally I cannot see a big deal on programming this: No, they can see you (VID). Just think the same way they would do in real life. In this case they shoudn't shoot as they are expected to be there (ATO). My opinion on this is that you could either simulate ATO knowledge and "contact history memory" or you could take a simpler to implement solution using "god mode SA" such as checking "god mode" picture and assume the former situation if friendlies are within lets say 50nm. I would say vis ID as long as friendly units are supposed to be operating in the area at that time, target is not maneuvering against us, RWR/ELINT is naked, no NCTR info, and AWACs/GCI/CIC/any-other-form-of-CCC don't declare the contacts as hostile... It would be great to have this feature in DCSW as it is something indispensable in todays electronic battlefield, and no other sim has been capable of properly simulating it to date. Harpoon 3 and Dangerous Waters are the only military sims with something similar to that.

  8. What's not modeled? just notching or look-down? I've been unsuccessful trying to get rid of the migs at medium range intending to take advantage of look down so if it's not currently modeled that would explain some things ;)

F/A-18E (or C if not enough public data on E yet) Why?? -The community needs a realistic simulation of both the F/A-18 and carrier operations (case 1/2/3) -Doesn't require big work extending the the theater area (mainly sea...) -Next step (helo -> attack -> fighter) And thereafter I'd like to see some of the bad guys (Mig-29, Su-27, Su-25... They shouldn't have much problem importing them to DCS) and finally our beloved F-16C and AH-64... and some old guy like the -21 or -23. And somewhere in between a new theater (Iran?? Korea?? :P) and a realistic dynamic campaign engine. That's my wishlist for Christmas.... 2025 :lol:
