Warthog Paddle Joy_4BTN question
Sluggish Controls replied to Sluggish Controls's topic in Thrustmaster
I'm afraid I did not fully understand what you meant by "change to the opposite", but thanks for trying to help I'll keep on investigating whether it is doable or not! Cheers, Slug -
Hola All, Was planning to assign Joy_4BTN as a Modifier, thinking it would work similarly to a Shift or a CTRL key, ie. : 1. hit and hold Joy_4BTN down to access a secondary set of assignments 2. hold down Joy_4BTN allows me to do my "things" with secondary assignments 2. release Joy_4BTN and instantly revert back primary assignments So far I have only managed in getting Joy_4BTN to work as a basic ON/OFF switch, is that correct? or am I once again missing the obvious within DCS Controls / Modifiers pages? Cheers, Slug

Hola Reflected, First of all, let me say that I very much enjoy your WW2 campaigns. The atmosphere gets me instantly, and this is the 3rd or 4th time that I'm flying Beware, Beware. I just started Sortie #4 and followed my Leader up the taxiway and took-off. Then circled around the airfield (with my flight slightly ahead of me) and waited beyond the regroup time. No other aircraft rejoined, besides 2 distant dots I could not ID. Then I did a low pass over our airfield and observed 5 or 6 Spits with engines running, but all "stuck" on the taxiway, unable to move forward. On a side note, Sortie 3 seems to get me in trouble with an instant "Fratricide" . Two guards in my blister hangar get crushed under my wings as soon as I spawn in LOL Mind you, not a game breaker, I still flew Sortie 3 successfully and returned in one piece. Never cared much about my kills count anyway. Sortie #4 is however broken at this time. Probably a recent DCS update screwed things up. Please have a look, soz no track. Cheers, Slug

Thx for the prompt reply Screamadelica ! Guilty as charged. I did not read the pilots notes this time around, relying on muscle memory instead. Lesson learnt, ha! Slug

Howdy All, Been away from DCS WWII for quite some time -- flying a GA sim instead -- and decided to jump back into my Spit and fly once again Reflected's Beware Beware and The Big Show campaigns. Although I considered myself a decent Spit driver in the past, I am far from flawless, and I keep running into a bit of an issue I do not recall having previously... In a nutshell, my Spit is climbing across the Channel, feeding on her drop tank, and at around 15,000 feet alt the engine starts sputtering, quickly followed by loss of power. First couple of times I thought my drop tank was dry but that's not it ! Upon switching to my main tank the engine will pick up but for a little while only. By the time I reach the French Coast, there she goes again, coughing and losing power Prior to that all gauges give solid reads -- temp, pressure, boost, rpm all good before the sputtering hits. My only solution is to turn the fuel pump On under the elevator trim wheel -- it seems to work, but I do not recall having to do that particular procedure in the past. Has the Spit been updated fuel system-wise, or have I simply gone silly, and the fuel pump should always been turned On at Alt? And if so, when should it be turned back Off? Cheers, Slug

Mission 08 -- Hitting a snag
Sluggish Controls replied to Sluggish Controls's topic in A-10C Iron Flag Part I Campaign
UPDATE Although I selected to redo the Ground Training on each of my sorties, Departure is always ordering me to "proceed direct" to 5/FYYTR soon after switching from Nellis Tower. I did so every time, following the request from Departure, and always ended up with total silence from my instructor ! On my 4th try this evening, I ignored the "Proceed Direct to FYYTR", and all triggers worked properly. Biff did his job, and I did mine Not sure what to think ref. this one... Did I totally misunderstand the "Direct To" order ? Does it actually mean to follow the flight plan, and eventually get to FYYTR ? I was expecting a "proceed as per flight plan" from Departure, or the likes. Anyway, I completed the mission this time around, and loved every second of it. Cheers, Slug -
Hola BD ! To start off, what a fantastic job you have done with this campaign. It is so immersive, with a great mix of casual chit-chat and detailed walk-throughs on the different systems. Definitely a must-have to anyone interested in seriously learning this particular bird Having said that, I have hit a snag on Mission 08, three times in a row ! There is always the possibility that I may have fumbled on each sortie..., but maybe not. Each time I decided to do the full mission, without skipping the Ground Training (very well-done, again), and then took off with all comm working. All went like a breeze until heading to 6/03B at 14K. Last comm I ever received - on each sortie - was to proceed to 6/03B. Anything beyond that was total silence from my instructor. I did proceed to 7/ORBIT (even went into an orbit for 10min) and then moved on to 8/IP. Still no comm and no instruction as to whether I should have switched channel. Did I fumble miserably, or has a trigger gone awol somewhere soon after 6/03B on a recent DCS Beta update ? Side note, grabbed The Enemy Within 3.0 last night. Can't wait to be qualified, and eventually save the world !!! Cheers, Slug

Sure can for one airframe - but for each and every vehicles / aircrafts and whatnots - can't. I don't have the patience, resources or energy !!!

Taiwan is a "no, no, no" as it would offend ED's masters in Beijing As a matter of facts, the ROC (Republic of China, on Taiwan) is not included / selectable in any of the factions available in the sim although a many modules were and are flown by both the ROC's Army and Air Force. Go figure... Iraq would be fantastic. Or the two Koreas in either a 1950s or modern days setting. I would bite instantly !

Darn. I'm giving up on downloading the beta patch for today, crawling at 120~400 kbps download

VIVID NORMANDY 2.0 by Barthek
Sluggish Controls replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
I certainly appreciate all the hard work invested in this latest mod, and I'm very thankful the author is sharing with the community. However, the landscape in the above YT vid is way too vivid to my personal liking. It simply does not remind me of summertime in Normandy or Sussex. Lush paddy fields in Bali and Thai pristine beaches ? Yes Maybe PJ Pants uses specific settings to brighten up the sim or, alternatively, you can simply call me a spoilt brat ! Having said that, I will most certainly download the mod at a later date. The Caucasus mod has proven Barthek is always aiming for top-notch work. This time around, it is a little too early for me. At the risk of sounding terribly silly... The mod looks absolutely gorgeous, but is it for Open Beta, or Stable ? Thx
