How I would do it is... 1. Set all the groups you wish to spawn to Late Activation 2. Create a trigger Mission Start>(Blank)>Set Flag Random Value Min=1 Max=6 3. Create a trigger Once>Flag Equals 1>Group Activate 4. Clone #3 five more times increasing the flag amount by 1 and setting the Group to the next group. That should do it.

I noticed it doesn't like playing mp3's any more. Try converting to .ogg.

Helicopter state change from static to active?
Shapper replied to BeachAV8R's topic in Mission Editor
Glad it worked out for you Beach. And yes, a "Takeoff from anywhere" would be a real nice option to have. I'd also like to see some way of simulating a "Jump FARP" using only ground vehicles or a 47 with fuel bladders instead of the fixed PSP FARPs we currently have. Would make for more dynamic missions. -
Helicopter state change from static to active?
Shapper replied to BeachAV8R's topic in Mission Editor
I recently made a mission with this sort of problem. What I did is a bit crude, but it seems to work ok. I simply place the active helicopter unit with an initial altitude and speed so as to avoid hitting anything. I then set its initial waypoint (Not waypoint 1, the initial position waypoint) Advanced Waypoint Option to "Perform Task -> Land, and move the landing marker to the point you wish it to be located. In the same window I click on the Stop Condition button and set the "Is User Flag" to a certain flag number. Then I basically use a triggered event to turn that flag on thereby telling the helo to continue on his way. It's crude, and the chopper will sit there with engines running and rotors in the spin, but it works. There may be some sort of scripting feature that could do what you'd like without the aircraft being left up and running, but lua might as well be Sanskrit to me. Good luck with your mission! -
The way I tend to do things like this would be to first set two "Switched Condition" triggers, Group or Unit In Zone (or moving zone) and Group or Unit Out of Zone. Can be "Part of" or "All of", your choice. I would then set them to, for example: Trigger 1 All of Group In Zone -> Flag 1 On / Flag 2 Off Trigger 2 All of Group Out of Zone -> Flag 1 Off / Flag 2 On Then I go to the SAM group and open the Advanced Waypoint Actions window. We know the SAM site isn't going to be mobile, so it's just easier to do it this way, but to each his or her own. In Advanced Actions add 1 Type Set Option -> Alarm State Green. Then add 2 Set Option -> Alarm State Red. For Alarm State Green, click the "Condition" button and set "Is User Flag" to 2. For Alarm State Red set to Is User Flag 1. That should do the trick I would think. So now as that flight or unit or even anyone from that coalition side if you so choose enters the trigger zone, the site will go active, and it should be silent when they're out of the zone.

Noticed this one the other day. Decided to do an engine shutdown in flight to affect a "fully committed" autorotation. While the engine instrumentation indicated as they should, the actual engine sound remained constant as if it was still running.

The guys I fly with as well have experienced this issue.

Definitely not the only one. I myself and a buddy of mine I know for a fact enjoy simply flying and working on airmanship skills sometimes. You can't go out, blow stuff up, and come back alive unless you know how to fly the machine first. It's always good to sometimes just go out and fly the airplane.

The next mission is ready to go. As soon as Kenny gets well, we'll fly it. Here's the current SITREP: A SPEC OPS TASK FORCE MADE UP OF U.S. AND U.K. SF OPERATORS HAD BEEN TASKED WITH CONDUCTING COIN OPS IN THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS OF OPFORIA. A PLATOON-SIZED GROUP OF OPERATORS FROM THIS TASK FORCE, CALLSIGN "BLACK ADDER 1-1-D" STUMBLED UPON WHAT INTEL BELIEVES IS THE MAIN OPFOR STRONGHOLD IN THIS REGION. CONTACT WAS MADE AND THE SF PLATOON WAS FORCED TO RETROGRADE BACK TO THEIR PREPARED EXTRACTION POINT. OPFOR INSURGENTS ARE IN PURSUIT.

Had a feeling this is the sort of trash that would be attracted by "opening DCS up" for other types of players. Don't get too ruffled by these kiddies though. Just sit back, take a breath, and smile in the knowledge that that individual will most likely spend their entire life pushing buttons in the shape of hamburgers and asking "Would you like fries with that?" And not at the same time as an IQ that low severely limits motor skills.

Would be nice to have positionable TACANs and radar beacons via the mission editor as well.

With the USN frigate enroute and the their helo overhead, we rejoined as a flight and proceeded south along the coast where we encountered a northbound tanker. We identified the vessel as the C/C Elnya and reported to TOC who then verified it as one of the fragged target vessels and cleared us to fire. The vessel was sunk with a single Kh-25. During egress a southbound merchant was sighted, but fuel states did not allow for ID. Shortly thereafter, the #1 Ka-50 was brought down by AA fire from the shoreline. Pilot was KIA. Remaining aircraft returned safely. The #3 aircraft received significant damage from small caliber AAA and has been flagged as unserviceable. RUSSIAN SSK #1 RUSSIAN SSK#2
