  1. A10C v 1.2.6 How can I take a screen shot? My Rig: "Kandalf III" HOTAS Warthog, SaitekPro Flight Rudder Pedals & Toe Brakes, 2 F16 MFDs. TrackIR 5. NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB. 5.1 Creative SoundBlaster(Realtek HD). Wireless KB & Mouse.Intel i5 @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs). Windows 7x64. 4096MB RAM. DirectX 11. CoolerMaster 750W. ASUS P8Z77 MB. CoolerMaster HAF XM Mid Tower.
  2. I have de-selected (un-selected, got rid of, whateva) full screen mode in options but the sim still opens in full screen. I need to use windowed mode to be able to select screen capture & snapshot apps. Any advice?
  3. nomdeplum: Problem solved! Your fix did it! Ain't it amazing how much one can learn by asking questions (sounds like something Yogi Berra would have said)
  4. nomdeplume: Thanks for your rapid reply!
  5. I may have a hardware problem but I will post this in case anyone can advise. Specifically when I simply touch (not push) the stick for a roll left the aircraft snaps into a hard roll left..no dead zone and no curve. The roll right axis dead zone and curve work as set. I have the same exact problem with Rise of Flight and with Microsoft's FSX. My Rig: "Kandalf III" HOTAS Warthog, SaitekPro Flight Rudder Pedals & Toe Brakes, 2 F16 MFDs. TrackIR 5. 6. Nomdeplum: Thanks for the info. I would have to pick the one function (trim) to check for Warthog mapping..sheesh. Since I posted this I did get more familiar with the Controls option and axis tuning. But I have a problem regarding axis tuning that I will bring up in another post in orde3r to close this thread. Thanks again!
  7. While there is a training module on HOTAS familiarization, I find that when using the HOTAS Warthog Flight stick in "free flight" or missions, I am mot getting a proper match between the stick switches/buttons and the DCS A10C reaction. For example, when trying the Hat for trimming it behaves like a plain POV. This indicates to me that the A10C program is not mapped to the HOTAS Warthog out of the box. So, how do I get the proper mapping? Is there a pre-programmed profile available somewhere that I can load somewhow? Or am I to do it manually using the controls option which is anything but user friendly (especially when all device settings are labeled "Joy" instead of "Joy or Throttle or Rudder, or MFCD and the inablilty to see all device columns at once rather than having to scroll right and left to deal with device control settings):( I feel like a real dummy. I have not yet found anything in the Flight manual to help for this issue. My Rig: "Kandalf III" HOTAS Warthog, SaitekPro Flight Rudder Pedals & Toe Brakes, 2 F16 MFDs. TrackIR 5. 8. Canadianbaken, thanks much!!
  9. I installed HOTAS Warthog controls by the Thrustmaster instructions. But I find the use of the flight stick to be ultra sensitive..I can almost just breath on it and I get a wild roll reaction. I can't find any way within DCS A10C to calibrate for sensitivity, dead zone adjustment, curve, etc. Can anyone help? My Rig: "Kandalf III" HOTAS Warthog, SaitekPro Flight Rudder Pedals & Toe Brakes, 2 F16 MFDs. 10. I would like recommendations for a motherboard & cpu combo that, with my XFX GeForce 9800 GX2 (1GB DDR3), will allow me to run the A10C at one step above the current recommended configuration. I am getting many random freezes now that I did not get before. I suspect my motherboard is the culprit (after many diagnostic attempts using all the net suggestions). My motherboard is an XFX nForce 790i Ultra and the cpu is an Intel Core Duo E8500. RAM is 4GB Corsair DDR3 1600. Unfortunately that motherboard is no longer available, so I need to get different one. I am not looking to be able to go with super duper kick ass graphics, just enough to run on the "high" setting without snail scale FPS rates. My gaming PC has all the hot stuff, but for the PC running the A10C flight sim I do not think I need the big guns. I wlil be forever grateful for any suggestions y'all may have to offer. Be well and prosper, KorVet.
  11. Can't Download  I can't DL the .bin files. the USA FTP sites ask for an id and password. Whatever I enter, even trying as anonymous will not take me to download. I pre-purchased "game" and now I can't get to it. What am I doing wrong? I had no trouble downloding the Beta. Like, why do I have to log in to a download server anyway.
  12. I notice that some controls mapping uses button numbers like "joy btn 23" or "slider" so and so. But, I have no idea where button 23 is located or where the sliders are. I can't find an image that places the DCS button numbers. I have the MFCDs and the TM Warthog so there are plenty of possibilities.. I need a picture! The picture on page 18 of the Quick Start Guide names the buttons/hats/etc but not the numbers that match the ones used in "Options/Controls"
  13. I Have tried to start using my TrackIR 5 and mouse and found it to be awkward. For me the problem is with the left and right console's rearward controls. They are sharply tilted and blurry even if I move in closer. It appears that with an iPad one can get a good vertical view of the panels. On the other hand, it may be that I am not doing something correctly.
  14. Thanks!
  15. Improve Training Tutorials As I was going through the pre-flight training module it struck me that there was no way to "practice" other than re-running the lesson with it's voice-over, highlights on switches, etc. I would like to have a training module to practice the pre-flight process without any tutorial aspects except perhaps error identification. I suppose "practice" modules would be beneficial in the other training phases as well. Maybe one could build simple missions to serve as practice modules, but that would require learning the mission builder up front.
