  1. Hi there, I decided to start a new thread because I've tried several topics in this forum, but maybe I've tried wrong topics. So, my problem is that after a fresh install of DCS World 1.2.1. my Helios cockpit (A-10C) has stopped working. I've been using Helios for 10 months now and everything worked fine. But after I've installed the new 1.2.1 version of DCS World, my gauges stopped working on my second monitor which is my 'cockpit'. I've enabled Aero in the sim, but nothing. I made an uninstall and a clear reinstall (deleted all the folders in Documents and settings and in Program files). I've created a new Helios file (after I've reinstalled Helios) from Loz vSM1.2 template. I've added the DCS-A10C interface and modded the install path for DCS World. I've modded all the .lua files that I needed to. And still doesn't work. I can see all the MFCD's, the RWR, Digit Clock, etc. indicators on my second monitor, all of them works fine (I resized and repositioned them to fit for the Helios profile), but the gauges are still stationary. I sent my profile to a friend of mine. He's been using Helios for many months. He tried it on his system but it doesn't work for him. It must be a little problem, and maybe it is Helios's fault. But at this moment it doesn't work. If anybody has any idea what to check in my Helios profile, or what driver/software I need to check, please share with me. :helpsmilie:
  2. So, I did all the things that you've linked me above. I've modded the export.lua file, the viewports (I have never ever did it before and Helios worked...). I've created a new Helios file (after I've reinstalled Helios) from Loz vSM1.2 template. I've added the DCS-A10C interface and modded the install path for DCS World. And still doesn't work. I can see all the MFCD's and the RWR, Digit Clock, etc. indicators on my second monitor (I resized and repositioned them to fit the Helios profile) but the gauges are still stationary. Any idea...? :helpsmilie:
  3. Now I gave up. :surrender: I've configured dcs+helios many months ago, only once, and worked fine. Now it doesn't work. Maybe I'm an idiot because I forgot everything, but the fact is, I can not make it to work. I don't remember any abracadabra with many lua files (except monitorsetup and snapviewdefault), and the whole dcs on two monitors+helios worked well. It must be my fault, and it must be a very little, single moment that I missed. Pffff... idiot. :dunno: Does anybody have a checklist (have you done x? Have you done y? etc.)? Thank you guys for your helpfulness and patience.
  4. Thank you airdog, I'll try it today.
  5. Thank you all for the advices! First of all, there is no \DCS A-10C\Scripts\Aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit folder on my HD. I made a clear setup with DCS World 1.2.1. Second, I hit the setup button in Helios (previously I entered the correct path for DCS Wolrd), but nothing happened. Both MFCDs are in their correct position, and all the indicatprs and gauges are frozen. Maybe I missed one little step somewhere, but I don't know where, when.
  6. Well, it will be a long day for me... which files I have to re-create...? I forgot everything about this... :helpsmilie:
  7. Hi there. I have a problem with Helios after installing DCS World 1.2.1. My gauges and indicators stopped working on my second monitor (A-10C). They worked fine with the previous version. Does anybody have any idea what did I do wrong...?
  8. Take your spring to your local company and ask them to make a same size spring from a 3,5mm wire, it will be less force but not as light as my spring. Same height, same number of loops and same INNER diameter.
  9. I use a reduced power center spring made from the same material than the original. The original spring made from a 4mm diameter wire, mine has been made from a 3mm one. The number of loops are the same then the original. Its power is nearly similar than the four small sping's. Now wiht this nearly equal but opposing power (from the under side wiht the four small spring, from the upper side with the large center spring) the stick has no hard centerpoint, moves smoothly, but not too light.
  10. Aaahhh, I made this mistake, I used the combined resolution for the center. I'll try it as soon as I can, but now I'm at work. :)
  11. Oh, it seems to me that I've missed something important...! At this time I don't use Helios. Is it a must have software for this monitor setup...?
  12. Hi Airdog, thank you for your help again! I've tried it, and it worked - I see the setup in the game options. I'm totally beginner in lua scripting, so it might be my fault, but I didn't see what I wanted. My idea that the smaller screen for the MFCDs only. Maybe my coordinates are wrong, or something else...
  13. Thank you for your reply - I've corrected the file but still doesn't work. I can not find it in the game options... First, I made a mistake, I opened an other montior setup file, than pressed Ctrl-S. Now, I don't find this file in the game. What did I do wrong...?
  14. some help needed Hi, a few days ago I received an old, 15" screen lcd for free. I've planned to build a 'cockpit' for a long time, so after many hours of reading this forum, I started it. I have two monitors, the monitor for the MFCDs is under the main (camera) monitor. I've stopped at the first step. I created my .lua file for monitor setup, but I don't find it in the game DCS-A10C. I checked all the symbols int the .lua file, but everything is seems to be fine (I hope so...). I have Win7Pro, 64bit, I use DCS 1.1.1.1 I use the latest Notepad++ for lua editing, I've checked that UTF8 code is on. Can anyone help me please to find the problem? Bird_setup.lua
  15. Because of the full palstic design I washed it with simple warm water and dish-washing liquid. Dry it fully, water drops are unwated (use your hair dryer maybe...). But there are many chemical material for cleaning plastic surfaces from grease. In my oppinion the main problem is that plastic, elastic O-ring. Now I'm looking for the final solution made from silicone rubber material.
  16. I've followed Vega's advice and bought this: Dow Corning Molykote EM-30L lithium soap. I've disassembled the stick, washed it and used this grease. Besides this I've used some Loctite super bond power gel to fix that elastic, soft O-ring. Now it is better than ever, smooth without any sticktion. I'm happy. :)
  17. I've changed the silicone oil to to silicone grease between the o-ring and the upper ball joint. The silicone grease is specially made for plastic and rubber materials, sticks well on these surfaces. The result is good, next time I'll try it inside the ball joint. My second attempt will be a new o-ring to replace this very soft, sponge-like material that touches the upper ball joint. I need an other material which is not hard plastic but not as elastic like the present o-ring.
  18. I've just copied it from a previous comment, now I've corrected it.
  19. And you know what...? You are right! Yes, it seems thar the key is the rubber ring and the upper ball joint! Heavy lubed with silicon oil (made for airsoft aeg's) the stickiness has nearly gone! Thank you for your great advice, it helped me!:pilotfly:
  20. It happened to me too, but I've soldered the traped wire and now it works fine. Next time I pulled out all the five wires from the IDC connector. It took for a while to reassemble it, but now it works fine - expect the stick's movements...
  21. I applied it only for the four pins and for the center spring. It works fine. If it'll work for weeks without any problem, I'll disassemble the ball joint once again and I'll replace the current lithium based grease to this fully synthetic teflon based grease.
  22. Thank you, I'll try it!
  23. Does anybody know the exact type of the IDC connector inside the stick? It is at the end of the ribbon wire that comes from the stick (the other end is in the PS/2 plug).
  24. Ohh, I'm glad that I've foud this thread... I thought that I'm the only one that have problem with WH, I thought that I'm the only unlucky who has several problem wiht a brand new 400EUR cost hardware... I have the same problem, Frazer, and I did the same thing last weekend tha you've done: I've disassembled the stick. I'm totally crazy, I know... my throttle died and now is in France at the TM hg, RMA... I cleaned the ball and all the plastic things and used only one lithium based grease. It is now much better, but the problem is still exist. In my oppinion that the only way to eliminate this problem is to producce a metal ball with metal pins. By the way, the problem exist only in right positions, on the left it is smooth as a silk.
