  1. Hey Kevlon. :) There's not gonna be any "the rest" of this clip, since this isn't actually part of DCS: A-10C. I might include it though, somewhere in the movie. Will have to see how different it differs from the rest of the footage. And it will most likely be alot shorter in the final movie too. It was just a test after all :) I have no idea when this movie will be finished. I'm not gonna rush it. I want this to top anything i've ever done. ;)
  2. Of course, it will be from DCS: A-10C, and yes, the test clip was made using Flaming Cliffs 2.
  3. Well, just had a brief look at my timeline and my estimate will have about 6 minutes with footage from A-10, plus a minor intro at the very beginning. And with credits included, it will run for over 7 minutes. :)
  4. There's no "If" for this movie... it WILL be better than my previous promos. :D I'm determined.
  5. I'm making this movie for the mainstream audience, not just the hardcore sim fans. ;) I take a formula that works, and push it a little further. And you know i like a challenge. ;)
  6. The fps wasn't *that* terrible for this movie. And all you could do is simply slow the game down in-game, and speed the footage up 100% during editing to double the fps and get normal playback. :) For the video itself, the slow mo is a little overused, though it fit with the music at some parts. Some good angles were used as well, to keep the viewer interested, so that's a plus. For a first movie, it's not bad! :) Keep it up ;)
  7. There you said it. You're looking at the video from a one-man perspective. :) I agree on some of your points, like the wobble beeing overdone. And i did actually create some added "shake" just as the a-10 flies by the camera, but it turned out to be barely noticable... Anyway, the coloring and darkness of this test video is not something that will go throughout the movie, since this was shot with Flaming Cliffs 2, and DCS: A-10C will have improved lightning effects (and you will simply LOVE the sun glare effects ;) ) But for this test shot, you don't *need* to have any reference about where you are, or what you're looking at, that was the whole point. You start the clip and you go "ok whats this? Oh look, an A-10!". Sort of... If you have "crap" speakers, i suggest you try watching the clip with a better setup. And the sound may not have so much "rumble", but there is enough so it's not overdone for such a simple test clip. I'll say this much though; When you're watching the final movie, with music and all the sound effects that go with it, i'm gonna actually "applaud" you if you can find faults in the sounds i use. That's how confident i am with this project in mind. :D And it's a good thing, it's the viewers that will enjoy it the most. I said this when i first started working on this project; This will be the mother of all A-10 videos, and the holy grail for DCS: A-10C :D
  8. I can easily make such a movie, Vekkinho. Only problem is....it will not give the desired impact to the global audience, which is what im aiming for. :) And let's face it. 6 Minutes filled with loud noices, jet engines, explosions, etc, isn't really what i would call a promo movie. *Edit* - Yes maybe if including comms, radio chatter, and voices, it could work. But then it would have to be consistant. Like a "story" mode. Not just a barage of random clips cut together.
  9. Thanks :) I don't know (or remember) *exactly* where the sounds are from.. The engine sounds are from various sound clips of A-10's etc.. and the flare sound was from some Documentary...and it featured A-10s popping flares and doing gunruns.
  10. I think you may have got this the other way around... I spend like 5% of my time making and tuning the soundtrack to my fitting, and the other 95% on recording, effects and audio. Every little sound you hear in my movies (Project 50, Speed, EDGE, etc..) has got'n quite a bit of attention to it, to make it sound as good as possible. Or are you talking about me making a movie without any music at all?
  11. Well, yeah, i might have purposly made the delay a little long, since i didnt want people to think "pfff, he cant even time the sounds to the visuals correctly" :P
  12. About the sound delay thing, im not 100% sure yet if i will have it like that throughout the movie, since it WILL have lots of exciting music playing with it, when stuff gets hectic. Maybe for distant explosions, then maybe.. but i will have to see how it all plays together with the music+footage+sounds.. It's the overall experience that matters in the end, isnt it? ;)
  13. The AGM sounds are recording of real missiles. Maybe not Mav's but still a missile beeing fired. That's good enough for me. Plus i like the sound of it. Don't worry, i have other missile sounds too of course... About the flares, and the video you posted.. The sounds of the flares you see in that video has been added in post production. The flare sounds i used was also taken from some documentary, and it showed a couple of A-10's releasing flares, using the sounds i used for this test clip. About the sound delay thing, im going like this: If it looks good, if it sounds good, it's ALL good!
  14. Sure. When it's done :D
  15. It will be somewhere closer to 6 minutes ;)
  16. Oh yes, us drunk norwegians...
  17. Well, if it's as basic as possible: You could always make still images, with the appropriate text/arrows etc, and use them in your movies. No need for overlay or anything.
  18. Indeed :)
  19. Well bucic, this is the world of movie making, in any shape or form.. At some point you're just going to have to face it: The free editing software out there are quite limited with features. Why not think like this: "Sure for now, i dont need anything *too* complicated, but it cant be too limited either. But what about the future? What if i suddenly need some of the more advanced features??" Well, think of it as an investment, and Sony Vegas Movie studio might be a very good choice for you, despite the cost. Just ask yourself this: Is it worth it in the end? :) * and sorry i can't be of more help, i really have no clue what other options there are out there, since ive been using sony vegas since 2004. (and yes, im talking about the simple, more affordable products, not stuff like premiere etc)
  20. I agree 150% about the music, it's really a masterpiece in it's own right. But take a look around youtube, since 2007. How many movies are using this piece today? So, in other words, if you want your movie to stand out, be a little more creative, thats just some tips from me. :)
  21. Nice movie :) But after all these years, the music choice was rather unoriginal though.
  22. I'm starting to agree on you with the "wobble thingy", after also hearing this from GG. About the sound delay, you are absolutly 100% correct. It's not used in hollywood movies. Hardly ever actually. I'm sure i'll find a fine line between realistic and "movie-like" when i start producing the final movie. :)
  23. Hey guys. I had some time to kill and wanted to try something out. Here's the small test i did: Why make it? Well, to see what works really. What to look for here (for those who cares :P ): - Color toning. Darker contrast, less saturated. - Lens flares (tried not to totally over-do them) - Overall glow to the whole scene. -Camera angle, with the intended goal of having the A-10 pass by close to the camera, and then head off to the left and fire 2 missiles. - Tried to simulate a more "Natural feel" to the shot, by constantly moving the camera. And of course, sounds from the real deal, more or less. Also tried simulating sound delay. Cheers movie-fans (and a-10 fans alike ;) )
  24. Haha, you guys make me smile :D Anyway, to totally ruin the fun, thats not DCS. Just plain ol' FC 2 ;)
