  1. I've managed to get this working with LUA from Helios, although the technique should be easily transferable if someone is clever enough to script LUA for use in-game (e.g. pop up a dialog with the briefing in game instead of relying on Helios to do it). Details here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70408
  2. When I respond to these instructions I end up doing both - i.e. fly @240 for 5nm AND set the TACAN to airfield freq and HSI course set to the run-way heading. Then as you approach the point given by ATC you'll get CDI guidance on the run-way approach path as well. You can get airfield TACAN and Runway info from the CDU DIVERT Page.
  3. Yes I've had it a few times and assumed it was a Helios bug, not a DCS one. Have seen it whilst using Beta 4 and release. There's a thread on the SCS forum about it: http://www.scsimulations.com/forums/showthread.php?835-Sticking-Helios-keys!! Craig introduced a mod in the latest Helios update (RC4) in attempt to resolve, but it's strange that you're seeing this with the Cougar MFDs. Perhaps a DCS bug after all.....
  4. APU + APU Gen needs to be on for the AM radio to broadcast. Also double check the freq and check you switched the freq after the radio was turned on (not before).
  5. I think I just solved it (or at least got a work-around) - logging out and back into the forum seems to cure it. In Firefox I normally just save my tabs when exiting so I don't end up having to log in again - perhaps this creates an extended session on the server or something which eventually runs out of steam...
  6. Thanks Ethereal. Suspected it might be something like this. Ironically, as soon as I posted the above it gave me (you guessed it) "The page..." so I couldn't even view my own post. Somewhat bizarely it does seem to be work in IE (or perhaps I'm just getting a different set of blocked threads). I normally use Firefox.
  7. Recently I've had no end of problems displaying some posts in the forum - I get a white page with the words: The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. It only happens with some posts (not all, even in the same forum), but when it happens it seems to be specific to those posts (i.e. doesn't change randomly). Any ideas? This has only started happening in the last day AFAIK.... Thanks SM
  8. My last attempt at this yielded the same problem with JTAC, except that this time I checked before contacting that my user/group id was set to 1 - but I still didn't get data. However, on a positive note, having flown this many times already I was much quicker at entering the JTAC provided coords into a new flightplan and (unlike previous attempts) managed to arrive at the ADDER IP on time - from there direct to the JTAC waypoint and I found the line of tanks first time. So I think my problem before was loitering too long at WP1 fiddling with the CDU / JTAC coords. Getting to the IP on time seems to pay dividends....
  9. Why are you trying to program the boatswitch? (in fact same goes for most of the WH buttons/assignments - the A-10C provides the correct mappings for TM HW by default, so you only need to set-up the few unused buttons where you want to program some extras).
  10. Strange - I wouldn't expect there'd be any difference between the download and CD version. Have you tried posting over at SCS (not wanting to hi-jack this thread) - the support from Gadroc is excellent.
  11. Have you tried the training missions yet? I really recommend them - they lead you through the avionics and weapons deployment step by step (well not quite, you do have to remember a few steps, but you get text prompts and can always pause to take it all in before proceeding).
  12. I created a conversion table for this and embedded it into my Helios profile: Much quicker/easier than fidling with calculations on the fly (literally ;)). If you have Excel it's very easy to knock up something like this for printing.
  13. I think it's in the downloads section here as well, but possibly not as high-res as the SCS version. I had the same problem with the format/printing, but managed to get something usable by chopping it apart in an image editor, printing separately and fiddling with printer settings.
