  1. With DCS in Malware Bytes exclusions list, it's smooth skies for me too! Thanks!
  2. Windows update : Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) solved my problems with installer.exe crashing.
  3. Yes, I've re-installed the latest graphic drivers. I think my Intel E7500 Core 2 duo 2.93Ghz processor can't cope and needs upgrading. I will have to look at an Intel Quad I5 processor, the I7 processors are just too expensive right now. At least Nate's magic DOS command keeps me in the air for now.
  4. All I can say is "GIVE THAT MAN A BELL's !!!" Yes Nate, your DOS command works like an A10's GAU Gatlin gun! All my settings are back to high, all my missions are loading and no more black buildings! What a sight for sore eyes. Now, for the first time I can actually experience a night flight. Night missions just would not load before, not even if you created one in mission editor. For weeks I had to suffer, but no more. Is this setting permanent, or must I enter it every time when the PC was switched off ? Thanks again for saving me from an expensive PC upgrade.
  5. Thanks... yes, on Low settings, everything is working - but buildings still black. As I go higher, less and less are working. Got everything on High now, except scenes to medium and most missions are loading. Hope the final product would solve this, otherwise it is time for another expensive upgrade. I refuse to fly this masterpiece on low graphics. Nate, I cannot get access to your shortcut, - "no permission"
  6. I have a problem where about 90% of missions won't load... Training, Mission editor, Quick start and the normal missions. They all end up crashing just before they are about to start. Anyone else got this problem? The missions that do load run well on my PC but would crash after about an hour or so into the mission. I get black buildings most of the time even with HDR unchecked. See attached pics for the error messages I get. My PC: Intel E7500 Core 2 Duo, 4 Gb Ram, Nvidia GTS 460 SE, Win 7
  7. Problem solved!! As suspected, the black screen was caused by the Nvidia 7900 GTX card. Too old for the new Sim. Replaced it with an Nvidia 450 and no more black screen !
  8. We tried the boot-up again: Did everything according to script. On start up I had two options of Microsoft XP to choose from…No 2G or 3G. When I recheck the text string, the second line reads as see attachment : Attachment: [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /usepmtimer /numproc=2 multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /3GB"/3GB/fastdetect /usepmtimer /numproc=2
  9. My friend tried all the advice, but no success. As for the boot editing, the 3Gb option does not appear at boot-up. You mentioned updating drivers ? Which ones. I'm also worried about his system specs, maybe it is too low: * Intel E6600 core 2 duo processor * 3GB Ram: a mixture of 2 x 1GB and 2 x 512 Mb simms * Nvidia 7900 GTX Graphics Attached, a pic of what his screen... almost looks like a night mission. I wanted to tell him to switch on the lights, but thought this frustrated A10 enthusiast is in no mood for jokes !
  10. Thanks Nate, will give this info to my friend and let you know of the outcome.
  11. My friend is experiencing a similar problem... Missions load with a black screen with all the sounds running in background. We will be watching this thread closely for some advice.
  12. I'm just glad we are allowed to have access to the beta. Otherwise you have the frustration of waiting for the official game.... even worse! With all it's bugs, the beta is still a very good training school - use it for training to fly the A10 properly. Once the official game is released, you can start a fresh, bug free career as a fully trained A10 pilot thanks to all your beta training.
