  1. I've got the same problem again. When I try to log into serverlist the game crashes to desktop. Anyone else? *edit* it seems I haven't updated. I assumed the multiplayer also started the autoupdater. Silly me.
  2. I think it's wind. Strong sidewinds make the ladder drift to one side, afaik.
  3. Great, thanks!
  4. I managed to get my a10 powered up while in stp VIII a moment ago. For some reason someone spawned on top of me, which of course counts as a teamkill. Now I can't join the server anymore. Any way to correct this?
  5. lol. Two thoughts come to mind. One: holy shit, I need to forget about this asap. Two: holy shit, that looks way to cool to be forgotten about. I get mixed messages from my brain. Where did you find it? What kind of space do you have for it? Planning on using projectors? How will you incorporate the HUD?
  6. I see this as a potential hobby for a few winters, assuming I'lll do it and it's for sale. As I don't have any technical education it won't be easy. And if I do decide to buy it I'll definitely get in touch with Bruydling. Seems pro. I was going to take some pics of the cockpit today but the hangar was locked and I couldn't be bothered to get the key.
  7. you've got a point there. Seems I've got stuff to learn if this is ever going to happen. Probably not an easy task making the gauges work if i did buy the cockpit, if it indeed was complete with meters and if it was for sale and my girlfriend accepted that i venture into this silly thing of which I know nothing. I should probably forget it exists and go on with my life.
  8. I don't know what's still intact in it. And I'll ask around tomorrow from what jet it is. It might not be for sale anyway. But still, encouraging that it is possible. I kind of see it as a possible project, something to do in winter evenings when there's not much else to do. Also, I'd have to convince my dad to free up some space in his garage since I don't have the space. I can't imagine my girlfriend would be all too pleased with a cockpit in our living room :) *edit* so you're saying it's better to have analogue gauges than to put displays behind the panel?
  9. There's a cockpit from a fighter jet sitting around in our hangars where I go flying. It's all dusty, probably been there for several years. I don't know what plane it is, or if it's for sale, but I've had an idea since I saw it. If I was able to buy it, I could maby make it into a simpit. So, my question goes out to anyone with expertise. How realistic would this project be? How big of a project, other than "huge"? Can you make the dials and meters work? I assume they would have to be taken out and changed into displays since most work using air pressure. And the buttons in the cockpit. Could they be made to interact with my pc? How big of a deal is it to make the flight stick into a controller for the pc? Been thinking about this for a while, and if it's doable I might ask if it's for sale. Would be a hobby for some years to come. Can be sorted under "steep learning curve". :music_whistling:
  10. Thanks guys, seems I have two birds to learn now :)
  11. Hi there, I've been trying to fly the su25, but lacking a manual I'm having a hard time activating the systems. Is there a manual available? For instance, does the monitor work? How does it work? Is it like in the black shark? Do you lock targets via tv or is it less realistic? How do you activate tv? How do you activate weapons? What keybindings are important to set to then stick? Some beginners tips would be nice! :pilotfly:
  12. The community comes to the rescue once again :) Will give it a shot again tonight!
  13. Thanks, I'll give that a try. What's the physics behind this? Yes, cold start, not cheat start.
  14. Just some data on how it looks from my end. I can easily get to 20000-23000 ft. There the engine started stuttering, which I correct(ed) by lowering manifold pressure with RPM maxed out. Above 20000 it gains altitude fairly slowly, just above the 0 mark. But still gaining. A couple of thousand of feet more, with just a slight positive in the variometer, the speed just keeps dropping. So after a while the variometer goes under zero and the plane starts falling again. That's about as exact as I can be. What are the critical numbers I need to look out for? 170 mph speed, 46" mercury and what else? Check that the turbo kicks in, red light and all, yes. That's sort of how I've done it, except that it won't keep 170 mph. Clearly I'm doing something wrong, just can't figure out what.
  15. Not the fuel, engine keeps running. Last time the supercharger was active, and the same thing happened. Can't remember if supercharger kicked in this time. The plane just sort of doesn't have enough energy to gain altitude. So speed goes down, and it starts losing altitude. So max so far has been around 22000 feet for me.
  16. But what if RPM is maxed out? i.e. lever all the way forward.
  17. Hi there, Been flying the p51, and it's going fairly well. One question so far. How do I go high? I mean 25000 ft and above. Doing mission 7 in the campaign. The engine starts stuttering and that gets solved by pulling back on the throttle. But then there's not enough energy to get higher. Whats the correct procedure for this?
  18. Some nice video Found this video. Maby it has been posted somewhere, but it was new to me. Low level strafing runs on gun range. Crappy cameraman, but at least the sound is nice :) http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=8ea_1335251654
  19. Fun is a word too. A good word. I like that word. And don't get me wrong. I love the thought of flying the p51 with the same fidelity as the a10. It's just that, for me, it would ruin the immersion if the p51 was in the same scenario with modern aircraft. That being said, I will probably buy it. Just because it's such a wonderful aircraft. *edit* I guess, what I'm saying is that I hope there will be a universe for the p51. Contemporary enemies and such. I really do hope that. You can make missions for fun yes, but that glorious bastard of a plane deserves enemies of its own kind.
  20. Just one point concerning mission and realism and the fact that a10 and p51 are different era planes. This is just my opinion, but I think that credibility and plausibility are words to be used, and not realistic. All flight models are realistic, but that doesnt mean all scenarios are plausible. A10 + BS in the same mission is kind of credible and plausible, since it could be possible that for example Georgia has some sharks. And that USA and Georgia team up on Russia. Not realistic, but credible in a way. Sort of. At the same time it's neither plausbile nor credible to have a p51 attacking modern era equipment, no matter how realistically it's simulated.
  21. I tried every frame in a10. I don't know if I'm imagining, but it does feel a lot more sharp and smooth. More like the real vids.
  22. All of them, depending on situation. Gaining altitude, I use path. So usually after takeoff. When circling above target I use alt. alt/hdg for straight flight. Did I get them right now? anyway, use them for appropriate situation.
  23. It can happen when you are doing attack runs. I.e. you go for a target in a bank. That will lower your speed. Then you go straight for the target, apply autopilot. Now, going straight will gain speed. Higher speed gives more lift, so your nose will go up. Autopilot doesnt work beyond 5 degrees lift or bank or whatever. And it says *bing* and turns itself off. The solution is to trim, as people have pointed out. That's my guess. *edit* ok didnt read properly. ignore this post.
  24. Cool, some kind of calibration then. It can be quite annoying when you forget to check if they are actually active. And you press to release.. and then nothing. Nowadays i always keep dsms open when using 105s :)
  25. Not complaining here, just very curious. Normally 105s are green in dsms when flying. Then all of the sudden they go white and can't be released. To get them green again you roll the hog a couple of times, i.e. quick left and right on the stick, and then level flight again. Why is this?
