  1. Trying out the tips now. One more question though. Is it possible to drag a box around several groups/units and move all at once? A whole group is of course possible, but several groups? What about copy+paste? Would be a nice way to quickly create several groups and then individualize them.

  3. Hi, I need some help from gurus :) I've just made my first mission. Sort of a simpe silly little mission where a large group of russkies are attacking an airfield. I've made triggers, for example a large group of infantry activates when a group of hinds go through a set point (simulates special forces landing). At the same time an afac is activated ("special forces" observing the landing) so that they will pop up as an afac on FM40. Green smoke also pops up where they land. Afac actually works, i get the targets i set it to give in the editor. Which makes me proud. Sort of. So now - to the questions. 1. The mission always starts in the same way since afac has a set list of targets to choose from. How do i randomize that? I tried setting him to just Fac not targeted fac. That way he gives nothing at all.Just "no targets" even though they are shooting at him. 2. Whats the difference between a trigger and a flag? And what are flags useful for? (Big one, I know) 3. How do I randomize the start of the mission. So that, say, I have 9 different starting possibilities of from which way the russkies are making their attack. For the number 3 I'm guessing I have to make lots of groups and set the groups to advance from different directions. And then randomize which groups spawn at the start of the missions. But how? And then I'd have to make afac not random, but rather react to the randomized groups? EDIT - one more pls And what could be a good option to end the mission? Ive set an "end mission" trigger for both blue and red. When blue at airfield are "destroyed" the mission ends in a fail. When all red "destroyed" the mission ends in a win. I still haven't checked if the triggers work since there are A LOT of enemies.

  6. The Total Velocity Vector (TVV) does not show up for me after patching to latest patch. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else had the problem?
  7. The sometimes also use octagonal shaped pieces to build the runways. Apparently it was also because it was easier to mine the airfield. That way it's easy blow it to pieces if the enemy is about to take it. But that's just something i picked up somewhere. Could be wrong even though it's an interesting theory. *EDIT* Apparently, the mines are still there in some soviet era military runways. Just not activated.
  8. Ok, waiting for the patch then :) The thing that makes it more annoying is that the mission is friggin long. 80 miles to the first checkpoint, so just to try some other solution takes ages, even with faster time. I've flown through all checkpoints and also landed at home base, no difference.
  9. I'm trying to play a mission called Armed reconnaissance in The Shore campaign. In the mission you have to report the route of enemy advancement using radio f10-others. I can't get anything else than the possibility for fighter support using the radio and f10. Hence i cant finish the mission and can't advance to the next. Anyone else had this? Bug?

  11. Need some practice i guess :) Not easy to take down SAMs of different caliber when flying in flat terrain and a 6000ft thick cloudlayer starting at 11000. How would you do it?
  12. It can, yes, but only to a certain degree. I was flying above a 5000ft cloudlayer and saw nothing but gray in all modes. It did see through at a lower altitude, but that would have taken me under 20000.
  13. Ok, so 20000 works. What happens when there is a cloud from 12000 to 17000? When flying at 20000 tgp cant see through the clouds. Is it a good plan to "lock" the target before going high?
  14. Hi, I need som guidance from more experienced pilots. How do I attack an area with different kinds of SAM and AA? I get warnings like crazy, and cant get close enough to shoot a maverick at the enemy, always get shot down by a missile. I use measures in semi-auto mode, try to evade the missiles. Any tips on how to get close enough without getting shot down?
  15. Oh, another thing. Is 2 m/s second crosswind enough to be noticeable?
  16. Thanks for the help! So it's not only me :) I haven't had the same issue with other loadouts, for example 6*mav + 4*cbu97.

  18. For me it was still to the right after turning 180 degrees. took off in one direction and turned 180 degrees over airfield. HUD was always to the right. With rudders it centered, but its kind of hard to fly sideways :)

  20. Could be assymetric drag, but i doubt it. It had crossed my mind, but as I was carriying a symmetric load, it feels unlikely. Also, it has not happened before, with the same loadout. And, as i said, there was no crosswind. I will try to replicate the problem tonight. And when it happens, I'll save a track and post it. It happened at every take off when playing online, also to my friend who hosted the game. The problem appeared with different loadouts. It has happened a couple of times in a single player campaign mission as well. It's a complicated sim so It's probably me, and not the sim.
  21. I've encountered a strange problem. Some times at take off the plane pulls to one side, and when in the air, the HUD lines are displaced to the right. I cant use guns pipper afterwards either, it only says ccip invalid when changing to the guns mode. I was thinking the HUD problem has to do with crosswind, but at take off radio guy tells me 2 m/s. So I don't think that's the problem. The ball is also centered, so it's not my rudder or my stick. Any ideas?
  22. Well, finally got jtac working. After take off my id was set to 4-1 for some reason. And i got the red triangle. Now I just have to figure out how to make the triangle my spi. which button n which order. Don't know why it suddenly started working. Other than that I updated my computer. New cpu, motherboard and memory. And of course got bsod. Have to work on that now dammit, but seem to have found the problem.
  23. Maby so :) That would make me look stupid :music_whistling: Anyway, I'll try that, thanks :) I have flown over the target area, and also got shot down by the convoy. So I'm assuming that's not the problem. But i'll give it a try.
  24. I get that far. I do the read back and get the message "Standby for data". But then nothing. No triangle. "Beside radio talk I only accept task with WILCO.". What does this mean in practical terms? I.e. what to press and why? Sorry if questions are stupid, still a noob.
  25. How do you do it? Do you press any switches before contacting? I've played it like ten times, and never got the red triangle.
