From my readings and some testing in DCS, its too easy on takeoff (mainly a too-less-tork thing) and too sluggish and unstable once in the air and on speed. Yaw behaviour on rudder-input is much overdone imho. Because of that, its very hard to do an "english" carrier-approach. Other than that, I like it very much.

Love this bird, but the sounds need a overhowl. One of the biggest radials ever produced should have much more bite. Echo19 please.

Same here. Reminds me of good old dial-up times. Something is not as usual. Cold war Germany took me a whole night as well. Instead of the usual half an hour or so....

As the titel says, quadviews seems no longer to work for me. Pimax Crystal Light with the latest Pimaxplay. It was working perfect before the patch. Maybe Im doing anything wrong here, although I did not change any settings. Also ingame, the tickbox for quadviews is enabled but greyed out. I can only change it in the launcher. Anyone else sees the same issue or has a tip to resolve? Thanks, Marcel

Thanks for this. Still confused. What is the current state when using only Pimaxplay as a runtime with openx and quadviews on? My DCS 2D-screen shows 4 screens. Ingame I cant seems to see any difference. Does it use quadviews at all? Do I need QFVR to run? I have a Pimax Light.

Since a few days the F4 crashes the sim when I try to load a mission. It worked flawless for month before. The only thing I changed was my throttle. From Warthog to VKB. I did several reinstalls since, with cleaning all files related to the F4. Shaders and fxo as well. Still crashes. In 2D and VR. I have all the modules and they all work flawless less the F4. Log is attached. Thanks in advance, Marcel My specs: 4090, Ryzen 8500X, 64 GB Ram dcs.log

+1 - As an option please. Waiting for this since I use VR. Its so obvious. Why is this still a thing?

Trimming and getting to on speed for landing
cellinsky replied to markturner1960's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Coming from the Mig 21 and the warbirds, I had not one bad landing until now. F4 is very similar in behavior to me when it comes to landings. I keep the power up to keep sinkrate low or even nil on final turn. Airspeed around 200 Knots regardless of weight or configuration. Then I keep my eyes on the threshold the whole way down. I work the throttle and AoA and keep the power up as needed to prevent excessiv sinkrate. I clearly see or allmost feel in ths bird when Im sinking to much. Over the runaway i dont chop the throttle before the maingear touches the runaway. Chute out and noseweehl down. I never fly the tone or any numbers. Works for me. -
Since the latest update, I cant load the Marianas map. It crashes in2d and freezes in vr at approx three-third of loading the terrain (loading world 1/60). It happens with every module and also single or mt does not matter. I did a repair to no avail. I did also not change hardware or did any reconfiguration. I see a violation of some sort in the crash-log which looks like a memory-problem but all the other modules and maps run flawlessly as ever. Crashlog attached. Thank you, Marcel dcs.20240529-135013.crash

Jester interaction wheel incomplete display. VR
cellinsky replied to ejaimes's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Pimax 8KX here (canted display, wide fov). Same issue with Jester menue partly visible and other overlays too. Headtracking works, but not as fluid as the one in the F14. Had two flights with the menue got stuck on screen. Could not get rid of it, wether with mouse nor keypresses. Other then this, fantastic module! -
Im aware of that. Its certainly not a bug. Mossie feels rough in comparision to the P47. May need a little tuning in the same direction. But thats only me. It could be spot on.
-
Loving the new landing gear physics for the P47 and the Mustang. Feels spot on to me. Very smooth handling overall. Would it be possible to fine-tune the Mossie and the spit to the same level? They feel very stiff and bouncy in comparison, mostly the tailwheel.
-
Would like to see a cockpit overhaul. Same level what was done for the Spit. That one now looks fantastic in vr. P51 cockpit is still not fully pbr. Very apparent in vr. Outside model is not so urgent imho, but would also be very nice. Still my most flown warbird.
