Any chance of adding the f18c as well?
I had started down the road of being able to support multiple aircraft (this is a large undertaking for the iPad app - pretty much a complete rewrite - and still a fairly heavy lift for the android app) however at this time I've had to put this project on hold for personal reasons.
This app is a side project for me and things have come up in "real life" that need the attention I had been giving to this project.
It is still something I want to support, unfortunately I don't have any information on when or if that will ever happen :(
I will still be supporting the existing app and making sure it continues to work with future releases of DCS:W (unless something changes where that's not possible any more) but at this point I can't commit to any new features.
Thanks to everyone for all the support through the years. I hope the future will allow more time to work on new stuff!

Awesome..thats what i was thinking of doing...one tablet for a mfd another for the other mfd and one for the cdu...i saw there is some other programs that other people are useing for touchscreen monitor but i dont understand all that scripting stuff... Also do you have any plans on making the gauges for the aircraft?
No plans on gauges at this time!

Well i got to thinking..moving to the next step...if i purchased a couple cheap android tablets could i purchase the andriod app and make a designated screen on each tablet? Also would this have bad lag due to so many apps running? My ipad icontrol have no lag to pc...i flip a switch and its simultaneous...is the android version like this or slower? Thanks
There will be a slight amount of overhead with every additional device you connect to the server but I've used 3 devices at a time without issue. Really the only major problem you might run into would be running out of bandwidth on your wifi network if you have repeated exported displays (MFCD, CDU) across all the devices. If you just have left MFCD on one, right MFCD on another and CDU on another, that should perform pretty well!

Yes sir! I took my old ipad and threw them on that, i have your app on my air2 and i close the lid on the old ipad and out of sight out of mind...
Nice thing is duet doesnt use much resources but, being im only useing it for those two screens i can turn down all the options in duet so it really doesnt use anything!!!
Thanks again!!!
Awesome, enjoy!

Well got it to go...works great!!! Maybe this can be another out for those that use only one monitor...thanks for a great program and look forward to anything you build in the future!!!
Awesome! What solution did you go with? Duet on a second ipad?
-
Ive owned your icontrol for sometime now. Ive just got back into setting up and playing dcs...i only play with one monitor and i know that mfds gotta stay on the screen unless you have a second monitor.
My question is, could i just use another ipad and run duet for a extended desktop and put the screens on that to get them off my main screen? Thanks for help...
Also, if theres another way i could do it, i have an extra ipad and a droid tablet
I know Duet won't let the tablet be the primary display, but if it's just attached as a second one it very well may work. Just make sure it's a secondary display and arranged to the right of the primary display in Windows. Then run the server setup again and move the MFCDs to the secondary display, save and re-run the script installer.
Let us know how it works!

1. Icontrol DCS appears to have issues with some of the shutdown triggers. We have a mission to test your shutdown if anyone is having problems so email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com. Using the mouse for shutdown seems to work reliably.
Latest version of iControl DCS and DCS VC for Android should fix the issues with switch values for these missions. If anyone still has a problem with them in either app feel free to open a support ticket using the support widget at https://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html
Thanks to those who tracked this down in the first place and let me know!

Cannot get it to work with 2.5. I am using the android version. Works on my 1.5 version.
Beta versions are technically not supported.
However, if you change the Save Game and DCS:W directory to the ones for the beta install it'll probably work.

I got this setup working for the a10c but if I switch to the huey the UI all messed up.
The red box that show your controls is much bigger and the crew screen on my other monitor really big as well.
I don't understand why its changing anything to do with another module?
Thanks for any help.
Can you open a support ticket by going to https://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html and filling out the form in the bottom left corner of the screen?
I don't see the behavior you're talking about when using the UH-1H module myself. If you could attach screenshots of what you're seeing that would be helpful as well. Thanks!

My Windows10 says virus found when I download your DCS Virtual Cockpit server. Could you check please.
Everything looks good on the site and download. No viruses. You can verify the SHA256 hash with what's on the site if you'd like, it's correct.

How do i create different windows for different panels on the pc monitor. Is there a tutorial how to implement this?
This software is only for using an Android tablet to interact with the simulator.
There's a video explaining how to set up the server software here
The demo doesn't allow you to save any changes to the view. You can purchase controls by adding a new view, selecting edit on that view, tapping the + button in the upper left corner and clicking the dropdown.
Does that answer your questions?

I'm just interested in one or two MFD on my 10,5' tablet.
I understood that I have to repeat it on the main-Screen. Can I somehow minimize this window on the main Screen without loss of Detail, or does it have to be the same size as on the tablet?
Another question: the tablet has 1280 / x Resolution and the Monitor a higher one (1920 / x)?
And: Is it planned to Transfer it to KA-50 too?
If you make the exported displays smaller on the main screen they'll be lower resolution when they're sent to the tablet which might make them a little less clear. You'll just have to play with what looks good on the tablet but doesn't get in the way on the monitor.
Tablet/PC resolution don't need to be the same. No problem there.
A-10 is currently the only supported aircraft. For now. :smilewink:

Thank you so much for these continual updates! This app is now as critical to my DCS sessions as is my TM Warthog. Looking forward to a functional STEER panel hopefully eventually being added and thereby letting me finally achieve my years-long goal of having a fully functional CDU/STEER panel in my pit.
STEER panel is already there!

Hi there,
Is there any chance this app will include other crafts as well? Ka-50 for instance?
Can't say for sure about ka-50 but I'm definitely trying to come up with a path for supporting more aircraft than just the a-10 as additional in-app purchases. That effort is very much in its infancy at this point so I don't have much to talk about other than "working on it!"

Well I just lost a big reply since my session timed out while I was typing it and then the browser didn't redirect properly :( Let's try this again.
If I distributed the script with my server installer I think I'd be bound by the license, no? Either way, MIT would totally solve the issue completely.
I'm not real familiar with what changes are happening for 2.x since I've been out of the loop for quite a while and now I'm ramping back up to make some pretty big changes to my apps. Is there a good resource for what's new/changed in 2.x?
Versioning of scripts is interesting especially since multiple could be installed at the same time as the end user might have several applications that depend on different versions of the protocol, etc. You'd have to have a pretty lightweight listener mode until a client connected and then do all the heavy lifting.
I'm not a master at LUA, I've only absorbed what I needed to in order to get what I needed to done. I do have lots of winforms/wpf .net experience and could definitely help write some sort of script version manager if you wanted to go that route for managing versions of scripts that are installed. I already have written code for detecting and validating save games/dcs install directories in my server application which could be useful.
If you're not going to use UDP what protocol are you planning on? TCP?
The overall concept of DCS-BIOS and/or what you're talking about here would be a huge boon for me so I'm totally willing to contribute where I can rather than perpetuating yet another script that does the same thing as others!
-
Just poking around on the forums doing some searches today and I ran across this. I'm the developer of iControl DCS (iOS) and DCS Virtual Cockpit (Android)
I would certainly be interested and willing to contribute. Especially with upcoming aircraft that everyone is going to want to use.
Unfortunately GPL licensing would kill it for me since I'm not going to open source my apps.
Although I suppose I could only open source my server application and that's all that'd have to distribute the common lua.
I like what you're doing with DCS-BIOS. Are you planning on sticking with that or is there something else on the horizon?

Hi boarder2,
thanks for the fast respond. I must correct myself: Settings do not jump back to the settings of the pit. It looks as if icontrol reacts too sensitively and skips several.
It is not possible to set the desired frequency via icontrol. The numbers always jump further.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/lwnnqyvqybaqqy3/Datei%2012.08.17%2C%2008%2059%2037.mov?dl=0
Whoops, you're absolutely right. I messed up the values for the VHF radios in this build.
Already fixed and it's just waiting for Apple to approve it for release. Tossing in another nice feature I was working on lately too.
Thanks for letting me know!

Hi Boarder2,
hello everyone,
after updating iControl DCS to 4.2.9 (Server: v5.8.0.95) i have problems to set frequencies (comm). Settings are jumping back to the settings in the pit. Switches are working fine and settings made in the pit are correctly displayed in the app. Before the update everything worked fine! Any ideas?
DCS: Newest Version / Track IR
Any chance you could make a video of what you're seeing happen?
If you don't wan to post it publicly feel free to drop it on dropbox/onedrive/private youtube video/whatever and open a support ticket with me at https://bit-shift.com/icontroldcs/index.html and using the support widget in the bottom left corner of the screen.

New version of the iPad app and server published today. Here's the changelog:
• Lots of radio fixes.
• Help screen on launch can be disabled in settings.
• Bug fixes.
New server is available at http://www.bit-shift.com/a10vcserver/index.html
Enjoy!

Just confirming, this is only for DCS1.5, it does not support DCS2.0 is that correct?
Should work for 2.0 you just need to change the install directory and save game directory in the server and let it update scripts!

Is there any input lag on this application?
There is a very small amount of input lag since you have to send the data via wifi from your tablet to the pc and then back but if you've got good wifi it's very usable.
This is a review that simhq did for the iPad version, but anything they mention about refresh rates or input lag should be the same for the android version.
This shows it both running on the monitor and tablet so you can see a direct comparison.
-
Sure would be nice to see the radio panel. The contortions necessary to tune the radios while using TrackIR rival any circus act.
I'm taking a little break after getting this done but I will try to get some more panels added including radio panels in an upcoming update!
