  1. No sir! Just confirmed that this is a "recovered" Iraqi Mig-29. I was going crazy not knowing for sure so I went back today with a pair of binoculars. The small marking you can see in the picture on the inside of the right stabilizer IS and Iraqi flag. Also confirmed by a rather nice young Security Police Officer who took an interest in what I was doing! :icon_redf He told me that this particular plane was dug out of the sand along with several others. I guess Saddam felt he should bury his Air Force and save the U.S. ordinance! How thoughtful ;)
  2. Great website! This Mig-29 that I have seen is not in the "Museum" it is sitting out in the open on the north end of the base near the Pararescue squadron house. Hope this link works.
  3. Okay, working on putting the pic on Imageshack. Please standby.
  4. Hmmm. It works for me. I'm pretty new to this stuff so any suggestions?
  5. I was driving by the Air Force Base the other day and saw a pair of fins sticking up above the fence line. I played around with the image a bit and suspect that this Mig may be Iraqi. There is a small emblem on the inside of the vertical tail surface that looks kind of like an Iraqi flag. :icon_excl Anyway I just found it pretty cool to see this bird on the base.
  6. Hey guys, Thanks for the replies. Bummer, well I'll just keep hoping for the K to come along someday. Speaking of Mig-29's, I was driving by Nellis AFB todya on my way home from work and noticed a Mig-29 sitting in all by itself off to the north end of the base. It doesn't have any markings on it that I can see as far as nationality. I'll try to get a picture posted this weekend if anyone is interested. Shocker to see it at the base especially so far from the rest of the aircraft.
  7. Anybody out there know whether there is a mod for the Mig-29K variant? I think it would be way cool to have another option for a carrier based aircraft in LO and if I remember right the K variant was a Naval aircraft.
  8. Hey all! I am new to the forum but felt that I had to reply on this thread. I personally think that the work that ED has done is incredible, especially under the circumstances. I bought LOMAC and Flaming Cliffs specifically for the Russian Aircraft. I grew up in the U.S. Air Force and am a fanatic when it comes to the F-16, F-15 and the F-22 (Gorgeous bird to see in the air). Personally I want to see more flyable Russian aircraft (Including helicopters). From what I can tell there is not many people on this thread that are posting in favor of more western aircraft so as far as the so called 90% of westerners wanting more western aircraft I guess you can put me in the 10th percentile! You guys rock ED, keep up the good work!
