  1. Tried the 91.31s, wasn't impressed and went back to the 84.21 WHQL. Will stick with these until the 9x.xx are out of beta. Many moons ago, after several hours Googling and experimentation, I decided to use: 1. Force mipmaps: Off 2. Conformant Texture Clamp: On 3. Extension Limit: Off 4. Negative LOD Bias: Clamp 5. Triple Buffering: Off 6. Monitor Timing: Auto 7. Vertical Sync: Off PC - AMD 64 3200+@2.4ghz. 6800GT@420/1150.
  2. I haven't got either card, but in all probability the fps difference will be significant, and in fps games, extremely significant... 76xx cards are mid range, 78xx/79xx are performance and totally outstrip the 76xx. From experience, early last year I upgraded from a 6600GT to a 6800GT (and overclocked past 6800Ultra). The performance and image quality gains where massive. The performance gains between the 76xx and 78xx/79xx would be similar to my experience.
  3. A 200 quid watercooling system may enlarge your e-penis but it didn't stop you from frying your card. I'll stick with the £12 cooler (with ramsink included) which works great. :)
  4. There's loads of 6800GTs on Ebay If you decide to buy, I'd also suggest investing £12 or so in an Arctic Cooling NV Silencer fan/heatsink. From personal experience it takes half an hour to fit and you should then be able to overclock safely past 6800 Ultra speeds (My 6800GT is overclocked at 415/1120 with more to spare, but I don't want to push it ;) ). If you are looking for new, and on a tight budget, then the 6800GS AGP has more or less the same performance as the 6800GT and costs around £160.
  5. Would you like dynamic campaigns to work in multiplayer too? Yes please. :) For me, the only fundamental feature this sim lacks is a dynamic campaign system. Being able to do DC online would be a big attraction.
