This tape recorder was my dream in the 80s. In the city where I lived, it was one in 70,000 people. It cost about as much as a new car, and the owner was considered a very rich man. He was allowed to travel abroad in the USSR!
I wanted to buy one for myself in 2022. There is one master in Ukraine who restores the equipment and appearance of the device. It looks like new, with all the stickers, but it's not destiny anymore.
He gave it away for $170 in perfect condition.

On the F-4, the player works like a CD. CD appeared at the very end of the 80s. There is a DAT or video cassette in the F-4 DCS.

I went through missions with the SA-3 yesterday. When I was returning home to BIGHORN, the SA-3 started pinging again. I descended towards her, came up to a very close distance using the mountains for cover and shot her with a machine gun. ) The old Soviet air defense systems can't do anything at close range. It's easier to kill her than to hide from her and waste fuel. Only on condition that she is not guarded by AAA.

I totally agree. There is a DCS: Debden Eagles Campaign - Mission 3 video from Wolfpack345 on YouTube. This video is a year old and the mission is working fine on it.

I don't understand anything about logs either. I did a voice-over mission once. I did it for a long time, almost half a year. I added different sound files to it. And at some point, at the end of the mission, I had a crash on my desktop. The most difficult thing about it was to understand what it was related to, I had to go through the mission to the end. Then I accidentally saw the name of my audio file and an error in the log. I removed it from the mission and everything worked.
I have reviewed this log. I didn't see anything related to Debden Eagles.

It's a very interesting and long mission. It lasts approximately 1:40 hours. Everyone returned to the base except QP-A. Perhaps he fell during an attack on an enemy airfield. Unfortunately, near Kenley Airfield, right before landing, there was a crash on the desktop.

I found it, but it was very difficult. The letter "A" on the fuselage looks very dim. If the plane had been silver instead of green, the letter "A" would have been more visible. It's just a wish. Actually, you can do that.)

There is a question. Do I need to start the company over after the patch? I skipped mission 3 due to problems and started mission 4.

It is not clear when to take off and who to join. All planes take off regardless of whether I press the space bar or not. I caught up with a group of planes, but there were only 4 planes in 334 COBWEB. Then 2 more caught up with me from behind and one crashed into me. It was about 15 minutes after departure.

The B-Side is only playable after the A-Side is at the end, or you would have to switch sides and rewind the whole tape (or fast forward the A-Side).
Try this: Listen to one track on the A-Side, then press STOP, then press SWITCH SIDE and then press PLAY. You _should_ hear the last track of the B-Side (if there are 10 tracks on your B-Side).Let me assure you, it works. I did it with my Tomcat as well.

I agree, the company is very interesting and conveys the atmosphere. There's only one problem for me. I don't always understand what needs to be done. For example, the word "saddle" in Russian is used only in relation to a horse. The word "join" would be clearer. For example, "join from the right 1-5 miles away." Option "saddle on the right 1-5 miles away") Perhaps this is the cowboy slang of the US Air Force.

I rarely listen to music myself, but I recently liked one. I wanted to keep the original side of the tape and make my own side. Now I know how.

I keep mine in a separate folder, and every time there's an update, I run a batch file that resets various customizations including the songs. After pointing it to the directory I store my music in, the command I use is:
copy song*.ogg "C:\Program Files\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\Walkman\" >nul
I thought this feature was possible so that the folders I created would not be affected during the update.

I really like Reflected Simulations campaigns. The other day, I bought myself two more companies. F-4E Red Flag 81-2 and P-51D Debden Eagles. I completed one mission in each of them. That's cool! Like in the movies!)
In the first mission of the F-4E Red Flag 81-2, there is a lot of talk on the radio. It's really interesting and sometimes funny there. For example, a story about flying at supersonic speed over a cafe on Highway 375, or how a smoke rocket flew into the open door of a Huey. But, flying in formation, at the same time listening to a fairly fast conversation on the radio, for example, it is very difficult to set up TACAN. English is not my native language, especially since the characters speak "American English".) I translated the entire mission into Russian using a screenshot translator and then replacing some words with more correct ones. But for a very long time I could not understand what OCA is. I did not find a transcript in the mission documentation. On the Internet, the word OCA...a lot of stuff.
I spent about 1.5 hours of headache trying to figure out what an OCA is in US aviation.(Offensive Counter Air (OCA) operations are a critical component of achieving and maintaining air super.)
I created this topic so that sometimes, when it is not at all clear what is meant in English or some kind of abbreviation, I can ask a question about the company.

После обновления Windows редактор перестал сохранять миссии. Любые, с одним самолетом на карте.
Иногда миссия сохранялась, но очень долго, например минут 5. Уже хотел писать в техподдержку, но попробовал вариант ниже.
Я вырезал свои миссии из C:\Users\Admin\Saved Games\DCS и сохранил их в другом месте. Папку Campaigns оставил.
После этого создал миссию, при сохранении выбрал папку C:\Users\Admin\Saved Games\DCS\Missions и все заработало.

I did this. But the mission editor freezes when trying to save the mission. I used Alt-Ctrl-Del to exit the game. After that, I logged into the game and launched the mission from the main menu. The sound does not disappear.
Now, in addition to the horn sound, I have problems with the mission editor. I'll be waiting for the patch. Experiments with DCS lead to even worse results.

I mean the F-4E from HB. Maybe you don't have one. Most likely, the translation does not convey the correct meaning.I understand that in the F-14 HB they implemented a tape recorder with rewinding, and in the F-4, for the convenience of the HB players, they made a tape recorder from the flight recorder.
