  1. I downloaded it and was able to get one monitor view with the mfcd, but when trying to monitors it got all screwed up. I will try some more trial and error before i cry for help.
  2. i down loaded the dummies guide i will put that word to test
  3. The day is here ! I have added a 4th LCD monitor to my "pit in progress". I have seen all the you tube videos of people with their MFDs displayed on separate monitors and I exited to be part of the club. I have been browsing the forums and seeing lots of posts that refer to the "lua" files and the "Helios" program. I have downloaded Helios and a few of the user made templates to hopefully implement. I have some pc skills but am not a code writer I know how to edit a notepad file, and try to back up original files before I start mucking about. With all of that said what kind of timeframe am I looking at in getting this working ? I have an eyefinity set up that I got working pretty easily and added an hd6600 for the 4th monitor. The monitor is already mounted and functioning and I placed the MFD on the screen.
  4. Vesa mounting is a good point. That makes it easier to mount in the pit, and make modifications. The Samsung 19 " I plan on putting in as my control panel will be Mounted with this, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W0ETD2/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 Eventually I will mount a 22 inch touchscreen in its place.
  5. thanks Hawk. I have to hold off on the touch screen for a few months but I do have a 19 LCD I plan on using with Helios "non touch". I will use my thrustmaster mfd panels and affix them to the monitor.
  6. Helios has peaked my interests in adding a 4th monitor for instrument display and controls. I particular like a set up I saw on YouTube using the HUD view with eyefinity and all the instruments and controls were on a single touchscreen. I want this! Any suggestions for a 22 inch (max size) monitor? Also I realize the requirement of a 2nd graphics card any suggestions for that too would be helpful. It appears there are templates already posted on SCS simulations web site Yay!
  7. That sounds attainable, I think I will start with the UFC.
  8. Looking at being as keyboard free as possible in my pit. I plan on either building some switch boxes with a my leobodnar board or buying some ch pro multi function panels. does anyone have a total number of buttons required to have a fully functioning pit? I already have a tm warthog and tm mfp along with track ir so that frees up a lot of key commands.
  9. Patience is not a virtue. 7870 are 550 dollars here vs 300 dollars for 6950.
  10. I decided to go with a Diamond HD 6950 2gb I will post the teaming specs when I meet with my builder.
  11. I went with a diamond hd6950 2gb paid 300. I figured it was the way to go because locally and on the internet they seem to have disappeared over the weekend.
  12. I plan on ordering tonight either the 2gb hd6970 or the 6870 2gb. The 6970 is almost double the price so I am leaning towards the 6870. I currently use 3 19 LCD matched monitors in eyefinity mode my resolution is at 3840 x 1024 which is relatively tame these days. Running off an hd5850. I am trading my old system to a full upgrade with a 2500k CPU and 16 gigs of ram. the plan is to add a 4th LCD or 2 USB small ones for mfd in the future. what are your results 6870 users.
  13. update to the upgrade Here is where I am at CPU 2500k, Ram at 16gig, video card 2gb 6870. I told my builder that I need a minimum of 10 usb ports on the motherboard that should get me in decent fps with the ability to go to a fourth monitor in future. The only thing I have to buy outright is the video card so any suggestions?
  14. think its a corsair 700 watt. What about a 6870 card wanted a 6970 but they are discontinued.
  15. hi gents, tax refund is allowing me to update my system the only thing I am keeping is my PSU and case oh and DVD drive. I currently run at medium resolutions with fr never getting to 30fps steady. My current rig: E8400 at 3.0ghz 4 gigs of DDR 3 ram, ATI Radeon hd5850 running eyefinity at 1024 x 3840. windows 7 pro 64 bit. I am trying to stay under 1000 bucks for my upgrade but want to be able to increase my eyecandy and Fps oh and also in near future add external mfd via USB LCD or adding a 4th monitor. I stay out of the hardware loop now and pay someone to build my gaming rig, but by doing this I have no guidelines for hardware. I just need the basic specs not brands please my only criteria is Intel and not AMD. so if someone could suggest CPU mother board chipset, ram amount and clockspeed and video card type and memory size.
  16. Shhhh it was recently leaked out by Gov Jesse Ventura on his show. The P47 Thunderbolt is what I fly when I play Aces High and have been playing for the last decade. I should post pics of the pit when it was geared up to play it. It looked similar but with saitek and ch gear. I still play aces high for more of a dogfighting experience. DCS A10 is a total simulation experience. i havent even finished the tutorials yet:pilotfly:
  17. I tried some 7inch usb lcds but they crashed my system ans didnt work, I am finding through the threads that using external monitors for mfds is not possible with eyefinity. So right now i am using nothing.
  18. a 4th monitor ? After seeing some of the pits here I wonder if adding a second vid card with a 4th monitor is doable. I have a 19 or a 24 available, if i could use helios and mount the monitor where keyboard is.
  19. By far the cleanest functional pit i have seen very nice ! I would love to see a shot with dcsa10 running. I wonder if i could acheive the same look with eyfinity .
  20. I picked up a racing seat on clearance from a racing shop for 75 bucks. The mount for the seat is a bookshelf laying face down. I know that sounds ridiculous but its working for the short term. I wear around 180 so for now its holding me. It really is rigid and disperses weight quite nicely.
  21. I call this my little escape pod from reality! Since the 2 aircrafts i fly exlusively are the P47 and now the A10C, I figure it is properly labeled. I am a newbie to DCS A10 but have been playing Aces High for 12 years. My simulator consists of a modified http://www.kwikpit.com and a chair that slides on a bookshelf I found in the basement. I plan on someday building something that looks cleaner, but right now I do not have the spare time or skills to add to it. the center stick mount is from my fighter systems HOTASS I bought like 10 years ago. I made a custom trim control panel last year using a bodnar board but have since removed it instead using the warthog to control trim. Future control panels are to be used with the bodnar board to modify this for DCSA10.
