I vote for my baby.... the F-4G & E Phantom II  :joystick:

Correct... but as a former TACP, I can say that it was certainly within our capabilities to do so, and we would train with working with the Navy for such targets off a coastline... ;-)

Post tracks of your gun runs here..
Murf7413 replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I had a Good one... but have no idea how to record a track to upload it.... lol -
What I ran into after the patch is that the profile that was loaded into my HOTAS no longer works. I reloaded the profile and no go... Haven't figuered it out yet. Any ideas??

Well, everywhere I have deployed over the years, has always been a beehive of activity on the ramp and base. My last deployment was the 1st Gulf war with the F-4 Wild Weasel's from George AFB, Ca.... and Shaikh Isa AB in Bahrain was a very busy place.

No, the difference is not distinguished on us en-route charts... SOME SID and STARS do, but it is pretty uncommon so far. The reason I got (from an FAA inspector) as to why they are not stated as such, was that it is because they function... signal wise... the same as a standard VOR signal. So why change the symbology....

DCS you cost me a lot of money!!!
Murf7413 replied to NeedToKow's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software

JTAC marking targets with laser
Murf7413 replied to theghost's topic in User Created Missions General
Ok... my question is where do you enter the laser code given by the JTAC at?? I didn't see it in the manual...or rather I don't recall seeing or reading it in the manual on how to do this... :music_whistling: A reference on where in the manual it is would be handy for me... and if there is a tutorial out there on how to do so would be good as well. -
I'm sorry to chime in on this... But THIS kind of a post is neither appropriate, nor productive... in ANY forum!!! Now, back to subject... Is there a way to kind of maybe space the text from the object?? For me I NEED the label to find anything on the ground, but the text usually tend to cover up the target, and I can't see the target...

That is EXACTLY the case... I worked maintenance for 17 years... 2 years F-111's, 9 on F-4 E & G (Wild Weasel's), and the rest on F-16's... SELDOM did the pilot's fly the bird with their name on it... with one exception... the Squadron C/O... He usually had his own bird.... but when he wasn't flying it, somebody was.:thumbup:
-
I do believe you are correct.... I just don't remember if that is the case or not... but, I THINK it is so...:tomato:
-
I would guess probably one of our resident A-10 maintainers can get that answer from the real world... I got a couple of buddies that fly for the A-10 Demo teams... I will send them an e-mail and ask. Mind if If I use your screenshot to show them??
-
Agreed... That's exactly what I am doing. I just get a bit irritated with myself because I have been flying Falcon AF for years with my TM Cougar HOTAS... so I figured the transition would be easy. :music_whistling: DING DING DING....WRONG!!!! :megalol: So, for awhile, I need the cheat sheets. :joystick:
-
Yep... hadn't seen that thread... and it is certainly along the same lines!! Thanks hassata But Frostiken had just the thing I needed!!!
-
:megalol: like I said... I'm getting old!! :joystick: That is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!! Thanks a BUNCH!!!

Has ANYBODY come up with a good way to remember what the... "Coolie hat"... "China hat"... "Boat switch" and such do??? I am getting sooooo confused as to what does what, and when to use it!!:helpsmilie: Incidentally, I am using Speedbrakes profile for the TM Cougar... Check 6... two's RTB

I can GUARANTEE an F-16 can jump the chocks... and it doesn't have to be even close to max power to do it!! I've seen it done, and it ran right into an expeditor's van!! OUCH!!!:cry: An A-10 I doubt would... I believe it has the same engines that were on our Challenger 601's, and THEY would not jump chocks at almost full power!!! My FO tried to do it one day (He forgot to have them pulled)!! :megalol:

I FULLY agree... it certainly isn't a "requirement" to make it a good sim... can't argue that point at all. ;-) -

No harm, no foul, no worries... :smilewink: Trust me... I am probably more stubborn than most here at "sticking to my guns". I read the forums for information and education, and when I have something to say, I say it... but, this is a game, and NO game is worth getting bent out of shape for. We have all got our favorites, and dislike other games for one reason or another. I have been involved in the real world aviation for 35 years now, and I am retired military as well.... trust me, I am NOT going to get bent out of shape over a game. I fully respect the opinions of others... and I expect the same in return. I am not a techie or a programmer... I play for fun, enjoyment and relaxation.... and for NO other reason!!! :D:joystick: No worries man...keep the faith!!! :pilotfly:
