  1. I had this problem once and only once. I thought it was a feature as well. I think I ended up getting shot down because I was so distracted (yeah, I'm going to blame the text ;))
  2. OK, I have a new found respect for your flying skills Custer!!! I hadn't tried aereal refueling, because the missions are so close to the base. But I spent 3 hours trying today. I can connect up, but I can't hold it. I use a CH Flight Sim Yoke, which made flying and holding in relation to the tanker. My problem is throttle control. It is so sensitive to airspeed. Thanks for the video. I will keep practicing....:joystick:
  3. What missions do you fly to practice tanking? I tried to create my own, but the tanker won't respond. I get right up on it's tail and communicate with him, but he won't lower his boom. Also I can't get a TACAN frequency to try and home in on the tanker. So I've had to do it visually.
  4. I just flew the second mission in the second campaign and encounted this problem. I've seen it before but I've always written it off thinking I pressed the wrong button. But during this mission I COULD NOT make a tank my SPI target. I get set the TGP to point target, and I would then to TMS FWD Long, but when I tried to slave all devices to this SPI, my TGP and MAV would go else where. So I finally gave up and put 700 rounds into the tank (which didn't kill it). About the only think I can kill with the gun is birds.
  5. Don't feel bad, I've got a similar setup. Specs: Intel Quad Core2 Q6600 @2.4Ghz 4Mb DDR2 RAM Nvidia GTX 470 Win7 64bit I've done a bunch of profiling to find where the bottle necks are on my system. It appears that A-10 is either single threaded or very close to it. The game rails one core while the other three cores sit and spin. My video card is just about idle while playing the game. Here are my settings that I use. I get around 20-25 FPS while engaging targets, but sometimes it goes as high as 70+, it is really inconsistent. Textures: High Scenes: Medium Civ Traffic: Off Water: Low Visib Range: Medium Heat Blur: Off Shadows: Low Res Cockpit display: 512 MSAA: 4x HDR: Unchecked Vsync: On Cockpit Shadows: Unchecked MSSAA: Unchecked Clutter Brushes: Far Left Trees: Far left Mirrors: Unchecked. The settings don't appear to make much of a difference. The Q6600 can be overclocked pretty easily. I run it at 2.8 GHz.
  6. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, so I tried again last night and wanted to track a building. The TGP was set to NARO and I was fully zoomed in. It still wouldn't spot lock on a target. Even with tanks I have to zoom out a bit and it still won't track. I suspect there is a hard coded number for the minimum distance before the TGP will go into point track mode. Seems a little odd to me. But from a coding standpoint I can see it would be hard to automatically determine if the object is too far away to successfully track.
  7. I have the same problem. I keep thinking I am doing something wrong. But in the first campaign mission, I've hooked and then made the red triangle the SPI. Now I slave all sensors to the SPI, go to the TGP and look for the target. I find the column of tanks and try to change the TGP to point follow the lead tank. This doesn't work. So I go back to the TAD and try to hook a different location or mark something as the SPI and I can't. It seemed that if I went to the HUD and tried to mark something as a SPI it "reset" the system and allowed me to change the SPI on the TAD and TGP. This looks like a bug to me.
  8. I've watched this video: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=73194&highlight=JTAC and I see the MFD flash when he is talking to the JTAC. I can't find the targets the JTAC wants me to hit. I end up scanning the battlefield for literally an hour or more and can't seem to hit the right target. According to the manual, the JTAC is suppose to send data and that should show up in the TAD. But I don't see anything. What am I doing wrong?
