  1. Just a heads up that I've been updating and adding to this mobile/web checklist guide: http://www.cubit.net/dcs/index.php I'm still very much a noob, and just using this to help me. Yesterday marked my first adventures beyond the training missions. It took me a while just to start my plane up, but the checklist guide helped a lot. Hope it helps some others out there. In this round, I added Taxi and Takeoff guide lists, as well as landing prep and TACAN landing. Next is ILS landing. I would appreciate any suggestions for changes, additions, etc. Best way to do that would just be responding to this thread. Hope to be flying online with some of you soon, but I need to get at least a little more up to speed. Now that I've done the startup list a few times, I know where all the switches are!
  2. I bet real A10 pilots make the right/left click mistake ALL THE TIME! Thanks for catching that. Just ran it again and made it through with no problems!
  3. Thanks. Still having the problem. Track attached. A few notes: 1) Notice the "instructor" isn't able to engage autopilot, even though he says he is going to. This is because the EAC is off. This only happened after installing the "new missions". In the original 1.1.0.8 missions, the EAC is already ON. 2) When I get to waypoint 3, I don't receive further instructions. My waypoint automatically changes to 4. I head to the range, shoot some targets, and then make an impromptu landing. I never receive instructions on using the rockets. No instructions after "head back inland to waypoint 3". 3) Odd that on the forum here, I can't upload a 6MB trk file, but I can upload a 6MG ZIP file. Shouldn't the .trk limit be the same as the .zip limit, as compressing the .trk doesn't seem to result in much smaller file size? Thanks for your help. GunsRocketsProblem1108.zip
  4. Seems to be I just needed to steer to the target more, then I can switch to AREA or POINT modes. After that, got some HUNG STORES, learned how to reset the error, and then drop the bombs proper. :) Maverick training next...
  5. Following this training mission word for word, and am running into a problem. I'm on 1.1.0.8 with the updated missions download installed. I get to where I set steering point to waypoint 4, then hold down the "V" key to make the waypoint SPI on all sensors. That works fine, and I see the range in my right MFCD. Then, I'm suppose to slew my targetting point onto the smoke target. Done. Then, I'm asked to L.CTRL-UP to change the tracking mode... but it's not working at all. It doesn't show it's on AREA tracking, and I can't get it to point. L.CTRL-UP isn't doing anything for me. So, I never get further instructions. Also, how can I find the mission track for the training mission? You don't get an option to save the track when you quite (bug?). And, I can't find the lastmissiontrack.trk file... instructions say it is in c:\users\... but I don't have a c:\users folder (I'm on XP, not Windows 7). And, I did a search for the filename, and didn't come up with anything. The "Temp" folder under the valve/steam/steamapps/common/dcs a-10 folder is empty. Thank you.
  6. Okay, I checked and I am on 1.1.0.8 How do I make a track of a training mission flight? Here are the waypoint names: 0/INIT POSIT 1/RWY 2/MSN002 3/MSN003 4/RANGE 5/MSN000
  7. Did that. Didn't fix the problem on this particular training mission.
  8. Oh, just posted about this exact same problem.
  9. Gun Training Problem I have been trying the GUN training mission, and keep running into a problem. I follow all directions, and take off toward waypoint 2. At some point prior to reaching the waypoint, I'm instructed to head back toward waypoint 3. I change my steerpoint to waypoint 3 and head back inland as instructed. I never hear from the instructor again. I fly to waypoint 3 and... nothing. Waypoint 4 becomes auto selected when I reach 3. If I head over there, I see the range, but still receive no instruction. So, I shoot up the targets on my own, wishing I knew how to fire my rockets. Then, I get bored, fly to the nearby airbase, and start straffing it as well. They don't seem to mind, as I land my plane there and am not arrested. Anyway. Is this a bug? I downloaded the "new missions", but it acts exactly the same. I have a similar problem on another training missions... DSMS I believe.. but haven't tried it after installing the new missions. Also, how do you know what version of the game you have? Would be nice if it showed the version number on the main menu. I access the game via steam. Thanks!
  10. I'm a complete newb, been working on a checklist application the last few days as I learn how to fly. Then, today, I just found iWarthog! Very nice. Still, if you are looking for something much simpler, that isn't a standalone app, but a website based checklist (using jquery mobile), you can try this (also, works on iPhone iPad, or Android, or just a web browser). I'll probably add checklists for more things (landing, armament, etc) - but like I said, I'm a complete newb, so... if anyone finds this useful and wants to suggest additions or changes, let me know. I also think I could add lists for other simulators. So, ideally, you pick your game, your aircraft, and then the list you want.... Anyway, here it is: http://www.cubit.net/dcs/index.php :pilotfly:
