  2. Hi, I'm considering a machine available locally with the following spec. Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-B450M DS3H CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3700X GPU : EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC ULTRA GAMING 8GB GDDR6 Memory : 32GB DDR4 CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 2666MHz Storage : SSD 480GB Crucial M500 + HDD 2TB HITACHI 7200rpm Im moving up from a machine with an old xeon and a 1050ti and ssd. The old machine is a reasonable performer in general flying but goes to hell in intense missions. I was flying the blue nosed basterds P51 campaign, It was ok till the buffs turn up and drop bombs when it goes from 40 - 50 fps to almost 0 fps. I'm hoping the new spec will allow me to fly more intense missions without it turning into a slideshow. I'm also thinking of VR next year so I'm hoping the new machine would be up to that. Are these resonable expectations for that spec? Thanks in advance for opinions. Dave.
  3. Thank you so much for this Stonehouse. Indeed the updated .lua, makes all the difference. The heinkels now hang around instead of going stratospheric! Now if only I could shoot straight:music_whistling: I'm looking forward to trying out the Goon!
  4. Thanks so much for the replies folks. I installed the He-111. It works great. Only problem is when a group of them came under attack from Spitfires, they went vertical like the space shuttle from 5000ft to 30000ft!!

I've seen some reference to mods (parts I and II) to add additional AI bombers.For example this mission refers to them; https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301699/?sphrase_id=15417967 However the links don't work any more. Does anyone know if these mods are still available as I would really like to try them out. Thanks in advance.
  6. 1. Eject! :) Seriously, I found the river bunker mission very useful for learning to defeat SAMs. For example there is a group of SA-11s at 10oc from where you start. I like playing cat and mouse with these. One trick I learned is to fly around the edge of the engagement envelope of the SAM, trick it into firing then run away. They always fall short, keep doing this till they run out of missiles. I also found that if you get caught out and you can't run intime, vertical changes followed bt a hard turn into the beam works well. Its the one that I don't see or the two coming at me from different directions that always kill me!

  9. Just wondering if anyone else has a problem with this tutorial. When the instructor tells you to turn ti waypoint 3. After you complete the turn nothing more happens? Anyone able to complete this tutorial? Thx
