HOTAS Warthog Extension Adapters
Rainman replied to Rainman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Warthog adaptors. These are so new that they are not on the web site yet, in the mean time if you would like to buy just PM or email warthog@rainman.tv I expect to have pricing ready in the next 48 hrs once the quotes are done from the machinist. All parts including the stem are aluminium, I am offering custom cuts and shapes for the stems, they are bare aluminium but I will be doing anodised if wanted. Cheers Mark Rainman Simulators -
Hi all I have started manufacturing extension parts for the HOTAS Warthog. Stem lengths are cut to order or you can just buy the adaptor ends and fit your own stem.

Hi all I have been away for a while, just doing some searching in relation warthog extensions as I have started manufacturing adaptors and found a photo of one of my early systems that was sent to the US, I must say that I am flattered at it being used as an example photo, Thanks Mark Rainman Simulators

Initial batch of photos. I have started on the photography for the parts so this is just an initial batch, the items still need to be priced and the web site upgraded and there is still another mountain of parts to photograph. Cheers Mark Rainman Simulators First batch of photos

Heads up. Guys just a quick heads up I will be doing a budget range of parts and I will be open to requests for parts to be added to the list. Just a short list of what type of parts to expect. 1.All of the parts required to build any of the systems I produce will be available in a.)mill finish b.)zinc passivated (gold coloured zinc coat normally seen on car parts c.)zinc pass with powder coat. Cheers Mark Rainman Simulators:)

After speaking to a few of the customers and looking at my increasing workload at the quarry I have decided to start selling the parts for the sims individually. The parts will also be available in mill bare and zinc passivated finishes. It will take a while to have all of the parts listed. In the mean time if you are interested in any of the parts just shoot me an email and I will get them priced up for you. Cheers Mark Rainman Simulators:) http://www.rainman.tv/index_files/rainman_contact_us.htm

Blackshark collective prototype. Finally I have managed to get enough time to do a modified version of my standard collective unit to accomodate the Blackshark extras, it is not assembled yet as I am also woking on several other projects including an AS350 deck that fits into a racing frame as well as a stand alone version.

Black Shark collective I am still working on a few ideas with the collectives among them is an EM brake for the lift, a multi prupose version that will allow you to use it for flight sim as well as DCS and making the unit from aluminium. Each with its own set of hurdles, the alloy version can't be folded the same as the steel version. Another option I am thinking of to make the unit a little cheaper would be to have a counter weight and not fit a collective release as the standard collective already has an adjustable friction. How many many would be interested in the multi purpose version or pure blackshark. At this point in time I would be interested in what everybody would prefer ie cost versus features and which features as I will do the unit to suit what you want. Something else to keep an eye out for is the sim rig from www.simroom.com that I am developing the flight controls for and the surround video projection systems that I am now dealing with www.rainman.tv I am resigning my current job in the next day or so and taking one more local to me to allow more development time, hopefully this will allow faster turnaround on the flight systems as I am also starting to get a lot of interest from the commmercial training market.

Work has been INSANE over the last few months, even though I have access to to some of the best machinery for doing cockpits and things like that the hours and traveling are wearing me down, so I am changing jobs again and will be starting work in a local quarry in about a week, not so much travel and more money (my favourite combination). I have given a lot more thought to a Blackshark collective and I believe that the solution that I have come up with will give the best of both worlds ie flight sim with the DODO206 and the Blackshark. Vision Racer currently have me doing the development work to integrate my controls into their racing rigs and when I have the parts cut for the job I will also get parts done for the Blackshark collective.

Rainman Simulators has now taken on the Australian distribution for Simpit Technologies, this is an unprecedented surround video system at 250*50 degrees home level gaming and above, previously the exclusive domain of the military now available for home use. Systems start at AUD$6210 and come with the projectors and software ready to install on your computer and will work with a wide variety of software and games to IMMERSE YOURSELF like never before, whether racing, flying or first person shooter Still under development is a budget 3DOF motion platform to work with the screen systems. This is so recent that the Australian site is still under construction but enquiries can be made via simpits@rainman.tv

Nice work. Peter That looks great, I have had to divert my attention to the 2 place R22 setup, Australia is about to get some major rule changes with helicopter pilot training, all pilots as of 2014 will be required to do at least 10 hrs of IFR 1/2 of which can be done in a certified sim, I have cut the basic parts for a 2 place system http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=43;t=20964 I hope to have the basic system running in the next few weeks.

Delayed reply. Sorry about the late reply, my new job has taken a lot of time at the start, thankfully that is starting to change, I am working on a few options with the Blackshark collective that will reach the proto stage over the next few weeks, I will send you a PM as soon as soon as I have a complete proto. Cheers. Mark

would anybody be able to point me in the right direction to get some diagrams for the A10 panels ,I am going to build myself a panel kit using 1.6 - 2mm aluminium any help would be most appreciated
-
guys as a design exercise for me would you be able to send me some photos and whatever diagrams and I will do the panels and fit it with mock instruments the same weight as yours
-
panel work deadman the cockpit on my web site is all 3mm cut and folded black plate with no reinforcing and light enough for me to lift by myself into a trailer
-
deadman airmail upto 20kg was aud$190 seamail $120 I would do the panels in 1.6 - 2 mm aluminium with folded reinforcing pieces and have the main panel in 2 halves ,i think you wold get all of your base panels in under 10kg ,my helisim with adjustable pedals and made from 3mm black plate steel is only 17kgs.If enough people wanted them they could be bulk posted and shipping would be even cheaper split over a few sets of panel parts. Mark

For anybody who is interested I have access to the laser cutters as most of my stuff is done like that ,I also have access to powder coating and electro plating ,the flat panels are fairly simple to do ,the bezels are a bit harder but if there is sufficient numbers they can be quite reasonable ,one of the projects that I am working on at the moment is a cockpit kit from aluminium profiles ,one of my regular machinery customers has all plant to process the profiles and do the powder coating. The design is still in the paper stage ,so anything is still possible to incorporate into the kit including multi and single screen mounts ,seats etc. My personal unit has an electrically adjusted car seat I have mounted an industrial 12v psu on it to run the adjusters. I actullay got to the point of not flying the sim for about 3 weeks even though it is a part of my normal work PC and the yellow cockpit next to my desk in the workshop.
-
I am dealing with exactly that now even though my job is sometimes building sim parts it is still difficult to find the time to fit everything in ,that said I have had a few individual sales and some OEM that went into a high school and the RAAF

I have the developers version of the headset ,once you setup the commands it will work with any game feature

:pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:If I get enough interest ,I will be able to have a very accurate either aluminium or heavy plastic replica of the blackshark grip made to fit to my cyclics ,so if anybody is interested if you either reply to this thread ,PM or email I can start the exercise of investigating the costs of the different versions :pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:
