Tried the lobby section in multiplayer and created a session in both "public" and "friends only" sections but both PCs came up with "no lobbies found" even the PC I had created it on. I say "created" but it never confirmed or denied that I had created a lobby session.
While trying to create a session using the "server" and "client" options when creating the server with LAN selected in the drop down box at top of screen, after pressing "apply" then "OK", the tabs get shaded out for a few seconds then go active again. I get no error messages to say I have not created a server nor do i get a message to say I have created a server.
I try searching for the server on the other PC in the "client" option but it does not find one so I try typing it in using the "direct connect" option. I get either a "timeout" or a "connect disabled" error message. Most often "timeout".
So I think I have done as much as I can to test this. I have gone online in steam and I cannot find any updates since my first post on this thread. I assume I am up to date with patches.
If anybody gets lucky then please post some instructions.
