Hi ... I've removed my installation of DCS 1.5 and want to start over. Upon downloading and running the installer Norton antivirus finds a virus, sonar.am.c!g9. Norton advises that I remove the offending file, then of course DCS doesn't work. I'm hesitant to ignore Nortons advise. Any thoughts? Thanks, Gary

Hi ... I'm having the same issue (norton antivirus finds a virus, sonar.am.c!g9, when I try to update my version of DCS 1.5). Can you tell me how you resolved your situation? Thanks, Gary

So the DCS support guys will answer questions on the Belsimtek module? G

I DO mean tech support. thanks! Gary

Hi All, I've not been able to find a way to get support from Belsimtek for the Huey module in DCS by looking though the users guide. Do they offer it? If so ... how? Thanks, Gary

Hi All, I've never been able to see the 'kneeboard' and would love to (in the Huey module). I've tried the various keyboard commands (like 'K') to make it appear, but no luck. Is there somewhere else I need to enable it? Thanks! Gary

Hi All, I'm looking to buy a monitor for DCS use. I'm not sure if 4K (16:9, 3840 x 2160) or Ultra wide (21:9, 3440 x 1440) resolution would be best. Your thoughts? Thanks! Gary

so DCS is pumping out 3440 x 1440, as opposed to the monitor or some other software 'stretching' the image to fill the screen ... right?
-
thanks guys! Is DCS outputting 3440 x 1440, or is the monitor 'stretching' the image to fill the screen? Gary

Hi All, I'm interested in having a wider screen for DCS without putting several monitor next to each other.... * Is a curved 34" monitor the way to go? * would a GTX 970 have enough oomph to drive it? * Does DCS support QHD resolution (3440x1440)? * Would DCS fill the screen both horizontally and vertically, without black bars? Thanks! Gary

By the way, I'm finding so many hurdles in learning this game (and I'm a pretty patient guy) ... if you know of any up to date training tracks available SPECIFICALLY for FC3 / A-10A on either DCS 1.5 or 2.0, please let me know. I think its an opportunity for someone to create as I'd gladly pay for quality training that is current and specific to what I'd like to learn. Again - THANKS! Gary

Thank You both so much for taking the time to help me! You've solved it! Best, Gary

I put a fresh install of 1.5 on a different PC than the original one, and it doesn't work ... so its something I'm doing wrong. I will review my process (again!!!), and report back. Thanks, Gary

Again ... thanks! Unfortunately it happens in all missions. Perhaps this is important - I have both DCS World 1.5 and 2.0 installed (on the same PC) and it happens in both, however the very first time I tried it, after a fresh install, (I believe in 2.0) it worked correctly, once, then stopped working since then. DCS support says its working correctly on their end, and for other users, so I'm sure its some odd thing particular to me. The 'lock target' function is also mapped to my Joy stick 'button 3' and it doesn't work that way either. If you have any other thoughts please share. Best, Gary

Hi again, Thanks for your reply. It didn't fix my issue. I've also tried checking for control conflicts for the 'enter' key, reassigning the 'lock target' to a different key, deleted old custom input settings from \Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\a-10a folder. Any other things I might try? Best, Gary

Hi All, in FC3, A-10A, MK82 bombs ... I'm trying to do CCRP bombing. I'm not able to get pressing 'enter' to create a ground target lock. I press 7 (air to ground mode), press 'D' to select the MK82 bomb, slew the ridicule using ",./:", but when I then press 'enter' or flight stick button 3 no square appears on the ground to indicate a target lock. Any ideas as to what the common mistakes are that I might be making? Thanks, Gary

Hi, Two suggestions for the map ... 1) to alleviate having to look away from the screen more than needed, when one pushes F10 to view the map let us push F10 again to go back to whatever view we were previously at (before we pushed F10 to view the map). This would be great for the map and for moving between any two views to increase playability. 2) when viewing the map, let the icon representing our aircraft be shown with its nose facing as our nose is facing in the game, rather than having the icon's nose always face north. Thanks! Gary

Hi, When doing CCIP bombing (DCS World 2, Flaming Cliffs 3, A-10A, MK82), the vertical predictor line is often dashed instead of solid, and the circle (ridicule) at the bottom of the predictor line is often out of sight below the bottom of the HUD. Is there a 'view' or other command I can issue to bring the ridicule up into the HUD, or is the only way to dive more steeply at the target? Thanks, Gary
