Just thinking this evening that when we get the big merge, I hope the optimisation is gonna be pretty much complete. Because with the way NTTR is at the moment - not very good fps maybe mid 20’s (in vr especially) - that will probably mean Caucasus, Normandy and SoH will be equally have low fps and thus leaving us with a less than excellent experience all round with deferred shading on. Any thoughts?

Hi all, not sure if I’ve skipped over this issue as I’m not exactly technically minded but I’ve noticed a fair few times my prf switch automatically switches to brf and squares appear on the radar screen. I have to switch it back to hrf to get my Vs back for a lock on only for them to turn back into squares again and the switch back to brf. Whats happening?

Are those cloud shadows in the top pic? The colours are so much nicer. And the new clouds also look rather lush too.

Just looking through the list again and realised it’s gonna have jhmcs at some point too!! Awesome. Muchos looking forward to this module.

Cool. Much needed. Thanks

The updates are on wednesdays now aren’t they, so more likely it’ll be th 29th

I get it in the Huey when I pause a flight

I used this mod when I flew the A-10 ages and it is excellent, but back then there was an issue with flying at night with internal lights on that borked the clock texture. Did this ever get resolved does anyone know? Cheers

Yeah, i had this problem for a while. I realised just to push the fuel lever forward very slowly

Can you still phone them?. When my throttle bricked a couple of years ago I was able to phone them and ordered a new mobo which was about £85.

Nobody ever see this?

MFDs down to £40 including postage to uk. Worldwide will obviously cost more

I’m curious as to know why there is a random shadow on the ground appearing out of nowhere

Depends on your skills at electronics I suppose. You can’t go wrong with a Leo Bodnar interface board as they’re easy to use, have 8 axis, and 32 buttons which is about £50. You just have to build your stick and gimbal then you’re good to go. Easy.

Maybe your collective head just needs extra weight (steel blocks) if the damper is still too strong. I use the same steering damper in my system using a collective from a Westland Lynx. My collective is quite weighty mind you so on minimum setting I also use neodymium magnets to add extra strength and feel to the damper.

Think my pants have just been wetted! Those screenies look Ab Fab. These are the kinds of mods we really need in DCS. Cheers guys

@Mango You're right, it was because when you do jumps in a rally car the nausea comes from the horizon heaving (pretty much what I was doing lol) probably and that can't be controlled u like when you're stuck to the tarmac or in an aircraft you can predict what will happen.
@Pixelpilot Yeah my first time flying the Huey in vr was the same, flying down The Strip and lost it due to vrs - it really was an unpleasant feeling. I still remember it. Lol. I don't get that anymore thankfully. Now I said earlier that I didn't believe it tricks your brain into thinking it's real - but the first couple of times...... may it does and that's why you lurch!!

You know, Dirt Rally was the one game game that I really did feel sick with. I won't go back to it either. Funny thing is I have no problems with Assetto Corsa!! I had a Buttkicker at one point as well but got rid of it when I bought my Jetseat - which I prefer.

Literally within 5 minutes of flying in DCS with the Rift I'd decided I was selling my TrackIR 4. I never even tried going back to see how crap it was.
I certainly wouldn't go to the extreme to say 'your mind makes it real' v- that's just silly. It just puts into a position where your head movement mimic what you would do in RL and that's the immersion factor more than graphical factor (although Mustang's and Starway's Caucasus maps are a massive difference over the stock ones).
There are several steps we need to get to before VR really comes natural and in my opinion the order should be (for a headset) 180 degree FOV, foveated rendering then higher resolution. Wireless tech I suppose would be handy for some games but not so much DCS/ racing games. And if good hand tracked haptic feedback vr gloves come soon then brilliant.

But it shouldn't last too long if you take small steps to begin with. i can fly for hours now without any issues

Ah, I didn't realise it was the diff.lua file! Anyways, I'm using a collective from a Westland Lynx (which has no throttle as it's FADEC) so I'm using of it's on-off-on switches as th throttle. Although now I'm thinking of using the momentary switch beside it which may be better.
Ok I'll look into that post later.
Cheers LeC

Hi all, I'm trying to make my On-Off-On switches switch off in the centre position using a leo bodnar board. I was going to use the first post but when I go into the Input folder my button binding is such
["dnilp3025unilcd3vdnilvp-1vunil"] = {
["added"] = {
[1] = {
["key"] = "JOY_BTN7",
},
},
["name"] = "Throttle Down",
},
["dnilp3025unilcd3vdnilvp1vunil"] = {
["added"] = {
[1] = {
["key"] = "JOY_BTN6",
},
},
["name"] = "Throttle Up",
},
How do I change this to reflect what I want to do?
Thanks

Hi, all, I've got a query
Milans pedals are great as we all know. But I'm, looking to alter the toe brakes. Using the toes brakes just feels unreal with the linear pressure of the spring. Now I've had a few flying lessons in a Piper Archer (some years ago) and I remember the toe brakes feeling more like a car - the more you push the harder the pedals get.
Is there a way to replicate this without too much modification - In fact I don't want to wreck my pedals at all!
Cheers
what's this on FA-18D?

I wouldn’t say it’s a device but open doors to check electronics or something
