  1. The shipping is quite alright - when packed for shipping the system (trident) is just 42 cm x 42 cm x 105 cm and it weights 75 kg. fingers crossed I might get some demo units into uk in some stage :-)
  2. Hi Guys, Tomas from NZ here - I would like to introduce new innovation that has been developed for best results with DCS World: Seamless virtual cockpit systems that completely surrounds the pilot. The immersion is much more intensive and convincing than with any 3D goggles. Unlike with 3D goggles you have the advantage of seeing the panoramic cockpit and scenery as well as view of your cockpit, controls and keyboard - no blind reaching for things. Compared to normal TV/monitor setup you have the advantage of much larger field of view with the benefit of having no bezels. Creating similar field of view with TVs would be far too expensive and with monitors impractical, not mentioning the fact the resolution would be so high the framerate would be measured in FPH instead of FPS. With track IR we can make the virtual cockpit dynamic and along with 3D goggles create complete sensation of holographic environment. The system has been tested with D-Box motion and various hardware cockpits. We ship worldwide and packed for shipping it is smaller and lighter than gaming seats - so the shipping price is not much of an issue. Here are some pics of three different sizes - Trident (construction with protective sheet on) - Centurion - TITAN - note how detailed and clear is the picture even on close ups (I have to make some footage in simulation mode - much more fun) ${1} there is more about the system on http://www.simpit.co.nz. Any questions are welcome.
  3. Hi Guys - some big news for flight simulation fans - From now on virtual reality will be less virtual and more real :-) I've been working on visual system with mil specs for home use you could buy without robbing a bank ... EDIT: For the Titan HD you would have to probably rob a bank (but please don't do that ;-) )
  4. and some big news - first home units are going to production! Preorder price 5 400 US including projectors. http://www.simpit.co.nz/images/SimPit%20Technologies%20Promo.mp4. http://www.simpit.co.nz/trident.html
  5. I would probably as well - back than I had about 30 minutes on Black shark and very little clue how to manage the beast. Now the cartoon physics are out of the window. Lock on is the new addition
  6. DCS Lock On Flaming Cliffs2 is finally fully compatible with SimPit EF-1 (dubbed the Nelsons best kept secret). Hope you gonna like the footage. :pilotfly: First official video from inside released: Many thanks to the Eagle Dynamics team and special thanks to Alexander for the help, patience and clues! Lock On Rocks. edit: Note - this is NOT a home cockpit
  7. nope, all rear projection :) more detail on http://www.simpit.co.nz/specifications.html
  8. that was all the expenses up to instructor (PPL/CPL/IFR/Instructor) - having a good sim back than it could saved me quite a few thousands :pilotfly:
  9. Not sure about that :-D just my helicopter license cost me $140 000,- NZD and even the bloody r22 cost about $500 p/h these days, LOL.
  10. good news, soon you might be able to try it in combat flight simulation centres. I would love to have it at home myself but it is off my charts as well (even though I'm making it :-)
  11. It works for Black Shark, LockOn FC2, Wings of Prey, FSX, Xplane and some racing and shooting games. (A10 and cliffs of dover coming soon). I could make a simpler home version with front projection, cheaper controls and without motion but the immersion and the feeling wouldn't be there (I have Heli CPL/I so I'm always comparing to real life).
  12. Hi All, :-) Thanks for the interest. I know the price seems quite high but when you have a look at it from commercial point of view it is cheap as chips - for home use not so much. if you consider the specs (size of the screen, number of projectors, motion feedback platform and variety of controls) it is a bargain - just the screen normally costs at least 35 000,- not mentioning the projectors and warping software which would cost about the same ;-D (check out immersaview prices and that's only front projection:-). The main market as I said are flight schools and flight simulation (gaming) centers. You can connect 4-8 of those simulators together and fly coop missions, aerobatics or dogfight and the price per hour is in a lunch money area. I'll try to post something with sim mode on once I'll learn how to use the Black shark properly, lol (so far I was using the simulator for airplane and helicopter training as you can see on other youtube vids.). That footage I've posted on youtube was from the first day I managed to get it going in the simpit and from my head cam. The cockpit is clickable with a glove (option A) or with a touchscreen (option B) at the moment I'm not using it as I'm struggling to remember all those 50 buttons and switches on cyclic and throttle (HOTAS):pilotfly:
  13. Black Shark Down - being shot down is no fun :-).
