Grats grats!
I was looking to upgrade from my ATi 5850, you guys think it would be a big performance gain or should I wait for the next gen of cards? Oh and I have an Intel i5-750 @ 3.8Ghz, I'm worried it would bottleneck it.

... two of the best study sims ever made (A10 and P51)...
What, no love for the Black Shark?
In all seriousness I really hope it turns out ok for ED, and us the fans, and these 3rd party developers actually deliver a high quality product worthy of the DCS name. Otherwise... well... let's hope ED's trust isn't misplaced.

Does prime95 stay stable with the small FFTs option? If so then your CPU is probably fine.
My guess would be that your RAM is causing instability. Run either prime95 (with the in-place large fft option or blend) or Memtest86+. Then we will know for sure.
In the case that it is the RAM, try to loosen RAM timings and increase RAM voltage (to a safe point!).

My previous PC had a similar fate. I was cleaning the dust like so many times before, and then when I tried to turn it on, nothing, just the fans powered on. It was old and it was time to upgrade it anyway.
I'm certain the culprits were either gremlins, or an electrostatic discharge.

What export settings are you using (resolution, codec, bitrate)?
The recommended codec is h.264. Bitrate should be about 8 mbps.
YouTube uses 16:9 aspect ratio players. If you are uploading a non-16:9 file, it will be processed and displayed correctly as well, with pillar boxes or letter boxes provided by the player. If you want to fit the player perfectly, encode at these resolutions:
1080p: 1920x1080
720p: 1280x720
480p: 854x480
EDIT:
Oh yeah and don't forget to compress the audio.
AAC-LC Codec
Stereo Audio Bitrate: 384 kbps

X52 is good, pro or... regular. I heard that some users are reporting an annoying dead zone, others don't seem to mind it. Not really sure what that is about.
There is a mod that apperantly fixes this and makes the joystick more responsive.
http://www.overclock.net/t/541354/fixed-the-crapness-of-the-x52
Pilotasso did a guide too, but the pics seem to be missing:
Improve your X52 precision with this MOD
It will void your warranty of course, so I'm not recommending it. It's just something I would do if I had an X52.

USB vs PCI wifi signal receiver thingy, which is better?
Performance will likely be the same, so choose the one that will be more convenient for you. I would go for PCI, just to have the usb port free, never seem to have enough of those.

I was quite sad to find out, after the startup tutorial finished, that there are no more. :(
Very well done, in-depth explanations, like how the APU functions and why is it needed at startup and stuff like that. With zero background in aviation it was very interesting to me. IIRC he even did some research here on this forum.

I used to be into RPGs but then I took an arro... ah, forget it.

This is a good thing.
There is a group out there that is making the Balkans (or was it Madagascar :P). 'Tis a lot of work.
Sure would love to play with some new terrain.

I use avira. Cool anvitirus.
But the best antivirus is caution.
Yeah Avira is pretty cool, I used their linux based rescue system on a few of my friend's infected laptops with great success, better than reinstalling the OS. Just boot it from a usb stick and scan.
I use it from time to time to check if MSE missed something.

Nice track!
Hmm, the Blackshark 2 soundtrack was uploaded by the same user on October 9th, almost a whole month before release.

...MTBF is similar to hard drives. Some are so reliable in fact that they would last 100 years...
Then why is Intel providing only a 5 year limited warranty? :P
MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) is not a true indicator of life span. A more meaningful indicator would be TWB, which represents the number of terabytes of data written to a test drive.
And that's why JEDEC has published new standards for measuring lifetime and reliability in SSDs, so that manufacturers can't claim a 100+ years life expectancy using testing methods not meant for SSDs.
EDIT:
The SSD will have a minimum of five years of useful life undertypical client workloads with up to 20 GB of host writes per day. Source
And they state the MTBF to be 1,200,000 hours. At least they are honest. :P

+1
An interesting video on the Red Bull pylon.

It's a very interesting concept, although more useful for moving the cursor then actual view control.
How do you "left click"? By blinking only the left eye maybe? :P
-
What's weird also is that the rotor RPM is 60% at 600kph and the throttle levers are at auto.
EDIT: @EtherealN, very interesting. Will it be modeled in the future?

I'm using the same stick as Nate, Logi Extreme 3D pro, and I'm enjoying both BS and A10. Here's the post by Nate, I would recommend you make your own key bindings, makes it easier to remember.
robnpat I have the same stick. I use the 6 buttons on the Left as Modifier buttons so that ......Button 1 = Cannon
Button 2 = Weapon Release
Button 3 = Nvgs
Button 5 = NWS
Button 4 or 6 = China Hat
Edit:- to make it clearer, Buttons 7-12 are on the base of the Joystick, 1-6 are on the stick.
Hat = Slew
Button 7 + Hat = Trim
Button 8 + Hat = Coolie Hat
Button 9 + Hat = DMS
Button 10 + Hat = TMS
Button 12 + Hat = CMS
Button 7 + Button 2 = Master Mode cycle
Button 7 + Button 3 or 4 = Zoom
Button 7 + Button 5 or 6 = Speed Brakes
Button 8 + Button 4 = Autopilot
Button 8 + Button 3 or 5 = Boat Switch
Button 9 + Button 3, 5 or 6 = Pinkie switch
Button 10 + Button 3, 5 or 6 = Mic Switch
Button 12 + Button 2 = CMS Z-axis
This is from memory so I may have left one or two things out.
Nate
And here's the joystick itself, just to help you visualize. :D
EDIT: And apparently it was already mentioned by Nate, in this very thread. Sorry about that.

Should of seen some of my first flights, I was wondering if it was possible not to collide the rotors.
Then I started paying close attention to the rotor RPM gauge. It seemed that whenever I started to pull some Gs, rotor RPM would increase rapidly.
So instead of lowering the collective I started raising it, thus keeping rotor RPM under control. Then when leveling off I lower the collective. That and not having a jet fighter mindset also helped.
I know this might seem obvious, but to me it was all new stuff. Never flown a helicopter sim before so it was a nice learning experience.
Edit: Oh and trimming, that took a while too.

I'm running on AMD CPU but have no idea wether I'm on a Buldozer featured CPU. Is there a list of CPU cores supporting this?
Best way to find out: CPU-Z
I was hoping AMD would make a comeback with the Buldozer, Intel really needs some competition.

Avoid the Chinese Firecrackers at all costs!
Here's a good guide on Tom's hardware:

Roundup: 12 Gaming Power Supplies Compared:

Personally I would recommend either Seasonic X-750 or Antec TP-750.
