in regards to the F-16 THIS. I would agree the F-16 has decent sims and while a remake would be alright I would much rather the F-14D. I wouldn't mind the F/A-18 either, I guess what I really want is CARRIER OPERATIONS. Having realistic carrier ops would be so cool...

I guess the real question is if we are going to see a two seat aircraft or not. I wish that we had a little more information to go on though. Its nice to see that the tomcat is still in the running though! :) Just have to wait and see (goes back to flying my A-10).

How can you say that? DCS AIM-9 would revolve around blowing aircraft up all the time. Its the perfect game for those with a short attention span. :lol:

I seem to remember reading an interesting article on the subject although I can't seem to find it for the life of me. :( As far as I remember, the F-14 made quite a useful bomber (especially with the range/armament advantage over the Super Hornet). The main disadvantage of the Tomcat was the cost of buying and operating them as far as I can tell. If anyone has any good information on the topic feel free to share...

I like this idea but IMO it is too hard to do a "complete" battlefield (ie with a FPS element). HOWEVER, it seems to me that this could be doable with more aircraft. A-10s should be able to share the skies with community created aircraft and other DCS/ED products like the KA-52 all over a virtual battlefield. If you want to be the person flying the KC-135, why not? Why not add the option for user created aircraft in DCS A-10? It would take a bit of effort though. I can always dream! :)

I am not sure if that is encouraging or depressing. I just want to fly a Tomcat, and from seeing the amazing job DCS did with the A-10, it makes me excited to think how awesome the F-14 would be. I guess mostly I'm a little sad at the retirement of such a unique aircraft. Either way, I am excited to see what the next project will be! :) When/how do we find out about the next project?

Looking at the number of Super Hornet votes, do you think they would still consider doing an F-14 Tomcat sim? IMHO, it is a much more interesting plane, and looks better too! It is a piece of history and would fit perfectly for the next sim.... I would sell my soul for a good F-14 simulator, flying the F-14 in FSX just doesn't quite cut it. (Sorry if this is a topic change but I had to ask)

F-14 Tomcat anyone? The carrier launches would be epic! There is so much potential for an F-14 sim, it could even include the ground attack roles aka the "bombcat".
