Yeah I think you shot me down, our Mig29 was picking you up as friendly, or you wouldn't be so lucky :D
Which reminds me, what about a few missions where the aircraft are broken up into Blue vs Red in terms of Russian vs US aircraft? I lose quite a few aircraft due to not being sure if i'm looking at a threat or not.

Got 2 of the same today, MP:

yes, all m chips on both AMD and NVIDIA are lower spec desktop chips tweaked to meet the lower TDP. However 7970m was not a mobile rebadge. It is the latest gen new card/chip. (meant to compete with 680m which was also not a mobile rebadge, unlike 670m)
-
Was and is it seems.
-
I had the same experience going from 7970m to 680m (massive FPS gains, 40+% I think). Mobile, but, it should carry across.
Edit: Just like some other users here i contacted AMD several times about the super low performance in DCS, no response. (game doesn't sell at the rates of BF3 etc)
-
They do a number of things, sometimes they will reuse a controller board or platters , low level format etc. I'm pretty sure that overall the failure rate of refurbished drives is higher than new, especially for cases where they just reformat, but it won't be by much... luck of the draw either way, new or refurbished.
-
I bought a 4gb 670 and saw a huge increase running 4 projectors and 1 touch. I can even add a 5th projector now for the aft view in the cube and run 25+ fps... 7680x800. I've seen 2.5-2.7 in mem use, so the 4gb is coming in handy!
What did you upgrade from? AMD?
-
Yes, they are holding up their warranty terms AFAIk, it states the product may be repaired or replaced with equivalent or better and possibly refurbished product. I think they keep their options open right in the warranty statement.
-
I do warranty work on pool products for Pentair, Haward, and Jandy. We DO NOT repair or replace parts with used ones. Just letting people know what Samsung warranty is like. RMA parts with Asus and Sapphire and did not get back refurbished parts. They were new.
Yes but you probably have to consider the timeline; if your HDD was DOA or fairly close to it, I'd try to be anal about it and do it like 159th_Viper, ask for a new replacement. But if you have a product for half the warranty period or similar, you may be asking a bit much with a new replacement. because you did put wear and tear on the item yourself. And we all know electronic components age.
I'd just say think of what's reasonable time wise. You might be right though.
-
AFAIK only by editing the missions and resaving. Loadouts can otherwise only be changed at an allied airfield with engines off and spooled down.
-
For DCS go with NVIDIA (it's much better bang for buck in DCS). Simple as that. The other game benchmarks don't apply to DCS performance.
-
Yep, that's good to know! (I used the term vehicle to encompass land/sea/air, didn't know the specifics you mentioned.)
-
8GB or more. I've seen DCS using 6 GB+ on occasion, and 12GB when things go wrong. (MP)

Took me ages to make as I had to learn all of DCS mission editing on this one, but here it is:

Description: Prevent enemy fuel resupply from reaching Sochi and refueling their assets, thus protecting Gudauta for 3h until Allied destroyer arrives. Optional AI assets to complete various objectives. Uses realistic fuel truck/tanker ship fuel capacities to refuel OPFOR assets as they arrive (also realistic asset fuel requirements). :)

Known Issues: Only mission Host can call in optional assets via F10 menu.
Full Briefing:

* Note, as of 1.2.2; only Host can call in assets using F10 radio menu *
The Russians have waged war against Georgia and long story short NATO is on the opposing side. We are working with the British and Georgians today.
Overnight we have wiped out the OPFOR fuel reserves at Sochi, all their aircraft are grounded until they are resupplied.
Intel suggests they knew of the strike in advance and shipped some fuel on trucks out to Esto-Sadok NE of Sochi. The trucks are now being diverted back to Sochi with limited escorts.
OPFOR armored columns are enroute from Sochi to Gudauta for an attack, ETA 50 minutes.
OPFOR are also sending some large fuel convoy(s) from Gelendzhik to Sochi. ETA 1-2 hours.
Additionally OPFOR have diverted a tanker ship loaded with suitable fuel from Ukraine, it is East of Sochi escorted by two frigates. If this ship makes it to Sochi they will be able to refuel all their assets! ETA 2 hours.
Sochi:
- Large Buk site.
- Secondary medium range SAM: Sa15, Sa6.
- Short range AAA
- Large numbers of grounded air assets.
BLUFOR
1x destroyer Oliver Perry in Batumi enroute to Gudauta. ETA 3h
4x UK Tornado GR4 (Enfield) stationed at Sukhumi SEAD
2x Georgia Su-25T (Ford 5-6) stationed at Sukhumi SEAD (players)
3x US A10-C (Chevy) stationed at Gudauta CAS
1x US AH64d (Uzi) stationed at Gudauta CAS
2x US A10-C (Hawg) stationed at Gudauta CAS
4x US A10-C (Ford 1-4) stationed at Gudauta CAS (players)
1x US F16-C (Colt) stationed at Gudauta CAP
4x UK Tornado GR4 (Springfield) stationed at Gudauta Anti-Ship
2x US F16-A (Pontiac) stationed at Tiblisi CAP
Gudauta - Hawk site, other defenses, armored column.
*NO ADITIONAL AIRCRAFT AVAILABLE FOR MISSION, NO SPARE RESPAWN PLANES*
BLUFOR airfields: Gudauta and all others in Georgia (south)
BULLSEYE = Sochi
Gudauta Frequency = 130Mhz
BLUE TASK
The overall objective is to hold out at Gudauta for 3 hours until the destroyer Oliver Perry makes makes it in from Batumi. We are going to achieve this by preventing the fuel supplies from reaching Sochi. Alternately clearing all of Sochi is also a mission success.
Objective D (Ford Su25 WP 2) - SEAD strike Sochi BUK site.
Beware of short to medium range air defenses in addition to Buk.
4x UK Tornado GR4 (Enfield) stationed at Sukhumi are also available for this tasking. Just radio them in.
Objective A (Ford A10 WP "ConvA1"-"ConvA2") - SAD Enemy fuel tankers heading from Esto-Sadok (NE) to Sochi. AAA escort spotted. Suggested to stay away from Sochi due to heavy SAM presence.
3x US A10-C (Chevy) + 1x US AH64d (Uzi) Are also available for this tasking if necessary. Just radio them in.
Objective B (Ford A10 WP "ConvB1"-"ConvB2") - SAD Enemy fuel tanker convoys heading from Gelendzik to Sochi. Possible AAA and SR SAM in convoy(s). Suggested to stay away from Sochi due to heavy SAM presence.
2x US A10-C (Hawg) are also available for this tasking if necessary. Just radio them in.
Objective C (Ford A10 WP "Ship")- Strike OPFOR fuel tanker ship inbound from the West of Sochi. Beware of 2 escort frigates with it. Stay away from Sochi due to heavy SAM presence.
4x UK Tornado GR4 (Springfield) stationed at Gudauta are also available for this tasking. Just radio in.
Good luck and be vigilant, it's an active battlefield.
Have fun, feel free to modify to your own liking, but please don't host modified version for downloads.

Found out the bug; as soon as you have ANY vehicle HIDDEN in your mission, NONE of the OPFOR will be shown as part of FOW detected by BLUFOR other than yourself. Meaning only the vehicles you see personally will show in your FOW + all vehicles on your side.
-
Alright, thanks for the clarification. I pretty much realized this after testing some more and reading more threads. (will have to be a host only action in my mission then until ED fixes the feature in default build)
-
It will work in MP, you just have to make sure the host is the only person to use a specific aircraft slot. Otherwise everyone who joins would add stuff to the F10 menu. Generally if you want Radio item triggers in MP you should use SLmod.
Trying to add items to the F10 menu to clients in MP, and this isn't working at all. Commands to add the Radio Items on some client being inside a trigger zone are executing local to the host. ... No way to get F10 menu on a client for some reason? Any ideas?
I'm going to look at the new "script suite", don't want to install a mod.
-
Yeah, that encompasses the aerial systems, but there are also ground and sea unmanned vehicles. So basically Unmanned Systems (US) :D
-
Just wanted to say they're not "drones" but UAVs. :p UGVs etc. (it's becoming the same as helicopter vs chopper though with how often it's used in the media)
-
It's not really about just the number of objects though, what's more important usually is the complexity of the LOD's/models. But at the same time it's possible some of those objects are rendering in too high of a detail at a distance, and should have different LOD's to decrease face count as you get far away.
1700 boxes of 9 faces would let your FPS still max out at 170+ (in most engines)
-
Ability to change coalition mid-mission design. I think this is a HUGE problem if you change your mind or don't know this critical feature is missing. (happened to me)
-
I was making a large coop mission with lots of AI. When I was done I realized the latest version doesn't have FOW working anymore even though it's checked in the mission options. And other missions work (so client is configured correctly)
I stripped away as much as I could, and FOW is still broken. You should see the red units in F10 mode near Sochi after a few seconds.
Repro:
- load attached mission
- (Optional initiate Autostart with Rwin+Home to get radios on)
- Go to F10 map
- Watch Sochi
- Notice Tornadoes get shot down and you never see targets (even though they report and see them)
- load attached mission
-
Yes good points, either way I think the fidelity to make the stuck/unstuck and broken/OK decisions is there; the values may just need tweaking in certain conditions to not always guarantee a fully loaded jet is always unmovable on dirt/grass if it has stopped.

Ok, maybe eventually, I thought the 33/29 etc would balance things out. Or maybe limited number of F16's.
IFF, yes I do need to check what's up with that, it was on my todo list. :p

I'm talking about A10-C, Su25t, Ka-50
