  1. Meh I guess I didn't explain well enough, this wouldn't be in DCS. I mean, if we had the choice between a bucket of M80's to dump out the sides or being able to tape bottle rockets to the side of a R-22, I'm sure it could take on a shilka... I was talking more along the lines of using the flight models and the helicopter physics model for a civilian application to use as a instrument trainer for helicopters. I mean, Redbird's cool and all with their moving cockpits and all that, but no one else comes close to the amount of detail and realism that ED has with their model. I think they'd dominate the market and bring in some extra cash to help fund new projects for DCS. I don't want a bunch of civvie aircraft in DCS either, sorry about the confusion.
  2. DCS: Robinson R-22/R-44 What if* Having just finished my instrument rating, I was pretty put off of the instrument simulators that were available. I honestly believe that with the DCS engine that they could do a hell of a lot better job simulating a R-22 and/or R-44 Thoughts or ideas about this?:joystick:
  3. I'd say it's pretty close, in my experience from an R-22. I think the rumbling is from the teeter hinge design when going through ETL. In a fully articulated setup like your dauphin, the vibrations from ETL are absorbed through the advancing and retreating of the blades and the greater flexibility of the blades themselves. There's nothing to really dampen that on a teeter hinge design save for the dissipation through the blades and the body of the aircraft. just my 2 cents.
  4. The huey's still easier to fly in the sim than a R22. It's squirrel with a rotor. Although very rarely will you have LTE. good tail rotor.
  5. The rumbling is passing through ETL, my instructor told me to ride the rumble. I start my final at 60kts and -300fpm once I'm about 150-200 ft I slow it down to 45kts, then have my altitude and airspeed end at the same time. I never dip below -400fpm. You'll be okay and won't settle with power if you don't go below that.
  6. If anyone's interested I found the POH for the Huey. http://www.anythingaboutaviation.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Bell-UH1H-Flight-Manual.Stamped.pdf I started reading it to find out what my best speed is for climbing and whatnot...Back to flying!
  7. I'm hopeless
  8. DCS: CH-53K What if, we had this module. You could pick up players with combined arms, and transport them. They could man the guns while in transport. OR! lift downed black sharks! I know I've been hit at lower than 20m and just hit hard but not destroyed. why not have a recovery system.
  9. DCS: CH-53K Give me this! .aaand I meant to post this is wishlist
  10. Hi guys, I'm making this post to try and centralize some of the dimensions that everyone knows on how to make HOTAS's for the black shark and the cockpit, I've seen a few on the flight collective but I'm hoping that we can get some general measurements of the whole cockpit as well. Cheers I have a dozen or so solidworks models with rough dimensions. I'll upload those along with preview pictures. collective_stick_mk2.PDF

Cheers  I have a dozen or so solidworks models with rough dimensions. I'll upload those along with preview pictures. Collective with pretty accurate specs, besides switches and missing hats. I'll have to work on a CNC program next to run through this. afterwards the real thing. If anyone else has specs different than mine please feel free to let me know. I've included tech drawing(.pdf) of part as well. http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=64977&d=1335154542
  12. I'm making this thread in hopes that we can build a database of technical drawings for modders and pit builders. I've searched around the forum for hours on looking for dimensions for the Ka50 cockpit and have found none.
