  1. Opened a dev ticket with Varjo and they said that VB does not control rendering and the application will call for quad or stereo. Any ideas on what config may be kicking it off in DCS? On a positive note I figured out what was causing all of my issues using Steam VR. All I had to do was drop the resolution down in Steam for the displays and I was able to get the FPS to a reasonable level. It is still nowhere close to the FPS I could get at a higher res using Varjo VR. Apparently the app will make one of of the calls below that will determine how the VB renders the display.
  2. Yea I am using OpenVR Motion (OVRMC) that runs in Steam but I quit using it and the rig because running DCS through Steam was pretty much unusable for me. I tried Varjo OpenXR and it worked great so I just quit using Steam and the motion software in the hopes things would develop over time and get better. Didn't expect the one thing that worked to get worse. LOL
  3. I had it working PERFECTLY and was getting all set up for a week of playing around inside to avoid the heat and now I will be spending all that time chasing bugs due to updates. LAME!!!! The Aero is leaps and bounds better than the Rift S it replaced but starting to think it is not worth it due to all the issues I have been fighting. I'd love to just get in the rig I built and FLY like I used to be able to do. It is always something with the Aero. Either the motion compensation isn't working because of Steam or the Aero is lagging to the point of being useless. Hopefully they will fix it soon....
  4. That was where I started by replacing the opervr_api and I still have the same issue with the double cursor that was not there prior to the update in DCS using Varjo OpenXR. I guess I will try to run DCS in Steam mode and try to get it dialed in. I started to try to get Steam to work originally, but once I tried OpenXR and it worked so well outside of Steam I quit messing with Steam all together and that was why I quit using the rig. The motion compensation only works with Steam at the moment. I would rather DCS work great than have motion and a game that was useless due to lagging. Has anyone identified the root cause for the double cursor and a fix for it when running DCS in OpenVR without Steam? Did not seem that a solution was found based on Supma's updated 1st post. Be nice to figure that out just in case I am unable to get Steam to work correctly again.
  5. Such a pain..... I had everything working flawlessly in OpenXR and all settings on max and then I had to go and update DCS. LOL Now I have the double cursor issue and anything through Steam is pointless due to lag. I am seriously thinking about ditching the Aero and going to a different headset. I can't even use my 6DOF rig due to all the issues in Steam and Aero.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I installed Tacview and it did indeed create the folders. I will give the telemetry a try a bit later. Would be nice to know what config was modified in that install to create those folders and the force DCS to look in them for scripts....
  7. Just built a new Sim PC with my new 6DOF rig with a fresh install of DCS and all of my modules. I was trying to get FlyPT working and I noticed that I do not have a "Scripts/Hooks" folder under SavedGames. I created the folders and dropped the interface.lua for FlyPT in there but no luck. I would assume that if the folders didn't exist in the first place the game is probably not configured to look there anyway. Looking for some guidance and appreciate any assistance.
  8. I had a fair bit of fun, and learned a TON building my A-10C pit so I'm looking to start building one for the Hornet. Anyone have a set of panel files sourced yet? I was doing a bit of research and have not come across anything on here yet but I have sent a few emails off this forum that may hopefully pan out.I had a local plastics shop cut and engrave the last ones so I'm thinking I am going to buy my own CO2 laser cutter this time around. A bit of research to do on that front but once I have it dialed in I will be happy to make panels for others if anyone is interested. Just to set the right expectations, they will not be 100% realistic. I truly admire the craftsmanship that people put into that level of work but the cost/reward drives me to be happy with black painted acrylic.
  9. I found a solution to my problem but I'm not 100% happy with it so try at your own risk. Here is what I did in a nut shell.... 1. Change the names of the GP-WIZ40s to something that made sense for my application. Here is a good link to show you how to do that. 2. Search regedit for GP-WIZ40 and verified there were 3 devices in the registry as I had 3 plugged in. 3. Renamed the fist registry instance to GP-WIZ41, the send to GP-WIZ42 and the last to GP-WIZ43 leaving GP-WIZ40 for the next device I wire up and I will then rename it to GP-WIZ44 and so on... Now all 3 show up in Helios with their own button mappings and everything seems to work so far. I will update my post if I find any issues doing it this way.
  10. I am looking for some help interfacing multiple GP-WIZ40 boards to helios or DCS. I am guessing it is how the interfaces are seeing the USB devices but not sure.... If I plug in 2 GP-WIZ40 boards they only show up as 1 "GP-WIZ40" with 40 inputs in Helios. If I open DCS I can see both USB devices in the controls menu with their full USB address but it is as if they are all sharing the same 40 inputs rather than having 80 available inputs between them. If I map an action to a switch mapped to input "A" on GP-WIZ40 board "1" and then try to map a different switch to input "A" on GP-WIZ40 board "2" it removes the action from board "1". This same thing happens in both Helios and DCS. Hopefully that makes sense and any help would be appreciated..... I should add that in DCS under inputs>Joysticks> it does not list any .lua files for the GP-WIZ40 devices. This may be part of the issue but I am at a loss.
  11. So I added a new usb interface and although the device shows up in the options menu under controls and I can map my switches to it I can not find a .lua file for the usb device. I even did a search for the way it is called out in the sim but it was not found. I need to modify the static action for several switches so any help would be appreciated. Pit is coming along slowly but surely. Eating this elephant one panel at a time......
  12. Great looking setup. I need to research that tightVNC as an option for my pit as well. I am just getting started on my build and trying to sort out some of the major details before really breaking ground and the multi-displays and various inputs is the biggest hurdle. I would like to run independent displays for all of the pit functions with air cores for gauges and such at some point but for now I am thinking about rear projection for the front panel to reduce the number of display interfaces required. I was looking at this Matrox card as an option: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/graphics_cards/c-series/c680/?productTabs=2 Although it is only 2Gb RAM on the card I have been told that DCS renders mostly on the CPU so it may not be that big of a deal.
  13. So after a great deal of research and speaking with several local machine shops I see the ridiculousness in my original post. For those that are just getting started building their own panels I found CorelDraw to be the very best at taking .pdf files and quickly converting them to whatever format your shop needs. It is very intuitive and the tools work great. Best part is you can subscribe to the product for a month at a time if you prefer for $25/mo http://www2.corel.com/us/ Now i just need DM to publish his book and a VHF panel.
  14. So I have been looking all over and although I have found a ton of .pdf files I have yet to find a set of files that are ready to be cut on a CNC. I started to convert the .pdf files but after running into error after error I figured I would just ask and see if anyone has a set ready. Local CNC shop wanted a crazy amount to convert the files for me so I will save that as a last resort. Thanks in advance and I hope you all have a great weekend. Also...... I'm in the US and I would be open to buying a complete set of panels if anyone has a lead on that option.
