  1. I'd enjoy ED to come up with a new engine or something that make DCS that much more appealing and immersive so that it can visually be of high standard and keep being a top reference for years to come.

I don't really get the complaints on the graphics. Sure, IG/EDGE will be awsome, but I'm happy with what we have at the moment. Try to fly BMS from time to time and suddenly DCS graphics looks awsome. Don't get me wrong, BMS is also a good sim but for other reasons.

  2. Help! I'm confused. I have Huey, I want to get A-10C and FC3, but do I have to also buy Lock-On to fly the planes in FC3?

At the moment, yes. ED does not want that but it is an licence issue since the old LOMAC-days when Ubisoft were publishing LOMAC. ED is working on a solution wich involves splitting the FC3 aircrafts into seperate modules, but at the moment LOMAC is required.

  3. I have said it before and here it is again: J35 Draken and JA37/AJ37 Viggen for DCS!

If I were able to I would make them myself, but I do not have the knowledge :(

Edit: Some people are making a pretty nice Viggen for BMS :)

  4. As others have said its hopefully a step towards more complex helis from Belsimtech. Secondly we can probably have it quite soon which is good for us and the dev's revenue stream.

Of course it'll mean we'll have both East and West helicopter transports available.

They have already stepped it up a little. The Mi-8 is more advanced than the Huey

  5. One final question before I make my mind up.

Does it come with training missions like A-10C?

*Where is the official list of features?

On the front page of the official website.

    http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/

About the training. They did not bother to update the training missions to the current version of DCS so they posted them as videos instead.

    Find them here:

  6. Thanks, I'll give it a go. I find flying the Russian aircraft a bit like flying a UFO though. Strange symbols and dials everywhere that I don't understand!

I find the russians very simple and easy to fly once you learn those symbols. In time, you will know what they mean. No I'm not speaking russian :)

  7. Strangely the su25 flight model still feels a bit more 'FC3' than 'DCS' to me... Can't quite put my finger on why. Compared to the A-10C and Mustang it just feels a bit more wooden.

Well, I assume it is just a modified Su-25T flight model. It was ED's first AFM (FC1) it is very likely that improvements were made to the newer AFM's that the other modules use.

  8. With the sale going on right now, you might just as well get everything. Some FC3 planes already have AFM and more will come with future patches.

All DCS modules except FC3 has AFM of course.

Nevada is hard to say but I think it won't be released in the near future.

You might want to buy directly from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ instead of steam. I'm a Steam user too but I stopped buying DCS products there when they stopped updating the steam version of BS. It is just horribly outdated. Don't know about steam A-10C but i suspect the same applies there.

  9. Update - 22 June 2013

We have completed our internal discussion of the availability of the "upgraded" Flaming Cliffs aircraft and we have decided to make them available for free to Flaming Cliffs 3 customers. We believe that this will add a very high level of new content to the FC3, it will avoid duplicate aircraft types, and we hope it will broaden the appeal of FC3 to an even larger audience.

Did I mention that FC3 is currently on sale? smile.gif

This is just too good to be true! FC3 will be great value for the money now, even with the full price that I gladly payed as soon as it was released. No reason for people to feel bad now. I just hope ED does not take too big a financial hit.

  10. You know what makes me mad about sound effects in movies is when you see a four-stroke dirt bike sound like a 2-stroke. Drives me crazy!

The Place Beyond the Pines? I think they had both two stroke and four stroke sound at the same time in that movie, for just one bike :)

And of course, the bike had at least 666 gears.

  11. ;1788551']the DCS F-35 is a SCAM!

I think I am open minded and I'm not making any assumtions just yet.

To call it a scam on the first day it was announced? Really?

What if it's real? You might actually hurt the dev and other people by saying such a thing...

  12. jesus, is it a realistic sim ?

when any SAM able to bring down the F-117 ? (anytime baby) :D

    From Wikipedia:

    Combat loss

    Main article: 1999 F-117A shoot-down

Only one F-117 (AF ser. no. 82-0806) was lost to enemy action. It was shot down during a mission against the Army of Yugoslavia on 27 March 1999, during Operation Allied Force.[44] About 8:15 pm local time, SA-3s were fired from about 8 miles (13 km) away, launched by a Yugoslav version of the Soviet Isayev S-125 "Neva" (NATO name SA-3 "Goa") anti-aircraft missile system.[44][45][46] The launcher was run by elements of the 3rd Battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade under the command of Colonel Zoltán Dani.[47] According to Dani in a 2007 interview, his troops spotted the aircraft on radar when its bomb-bay doors opened, raising its radar signature.[48] One source states one of the missiles detonated by its proximity fuze near the F-117.[44] Dani said he kept most of his missile sites intact by frequently moving them, and had spotters looking for F-117s and other NATO aircraft. He oversaw the modification of his targeting radar to improve its detection.[46]

Canopy of F-117 shot down in Serbia in March 1999 at the Museum of Aviation in Belgrade

After the explosion, the aircraft became uncontrollable, forcing the pilot to eject.[44] The pilot was recovered a short time later by a U.S. Marine Corps combat search and rescue team.[44] Photos show that the aircraft struck the ground at low speed in an inverted position, and that the airframe remained relatively intact.[44] The Serbs invited Russian personnel to inspect the aircraft's remains, compromising the then 25-year-old U.S. stealth technology.[49] The F-117's pilot was initially misidentified. While the name "Capt Ken 'Wiz' Dwelle" was painted on the canopy, it was revealed in 2007 that the pilot was Lt. Col. Dale Zelko.[50][51]

Some American sources claim that a second F-117A was damaged during the same campaign, allegedly on 30 April;[52] the aircraft returned to base, but it supposedly never flew again.[53][54]

The stealth technology from the downed F-117 may have been acquired by Russia and China.[55]
