The real Hornet grip is a resin and not metal. If you're making a decision I would say no need to over build and get away from the look and feel of real thing. If it saves money and time then it's a win/win.

Version 2 sounds much better. My vote is for version 2.

The same as what everyone else posting on this thread is looking to achieve. To draw attention to a problem that is causing unrest among longtime ED supporters. Apparently it is working.
