  1. Probably something happened during conversion. There is no info on the manual because the work exactly like stick buttons: when the cell becomes red, you have to click the tablet (or pen) button. If you still have problems we can also continue on Discord and maybe start a remote troubleshooting session. I wonder why your old config hasn't been converted automatically.
  2. Everything depends on how ED will implement hands interaction in the sim, but looking at the trend they just added the option to control how hands will attach to the virtual stick (that was very annoying). It's just the beginning, I hope we will have the possibility to explore more possibilities in the future. I think that, beside hand recognition, haptics will play a big role in cockpit interaction. We'll see. A little suggestion if someone from ED is reading: to improve the options set, please add an option to completely disable stick and throttle control with hands. The most of us already own an HOTAS and don't want to risk hitting the wingman by chance.
  3. Some of you may already know VRK, the VR kneeboard(s) tool used to bring kneeboards with pen support in VR. If not, take a look at: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=246970 With the latest version, VRK is capable of interfacing Leap Motion hand sensor to DCS when using Oculus VR. This feature was already availabe to SteamVR users through SDraw's driver. Oculus, because it is a closed platform, excluded itself from third-party integration (and all the fun). By using the technique developed for creating VRK overlays, I was able to feed controllers data coming from Leap Motion in native mode. This means that, in the same way, it is possible to integrate any other hardware without having to wait for Oculus and without having to ask ED to develop specific drivers into DCS! This is a video of what I mean when I say "hands interaction": This viedo has been shot at the very beginning of this project, using the SDraw driver and SteamVR. The low frame rate is due to Oculus running in SteamVR mode. Now, with VRK it runs without killing the framerate. Of course it's just the beginning, hand are still difficult to be used, but I hope that this tool will help in moving things forward. If you already own a Leap Motion, try yourself. Another little result for SteamVR users is that I did a proper installer for SDRaw's drivers. This should help pilots to install it without entering the configuration files voodoo. Howto: Download and install VRK Read the Quick Start Guide (please) Configure it to run in Oculus mode and enable the Hands Emulation Enjoy (if you don't want the kneeboards to appear, just set their size to 0) P.S. I'm happy to see that the latest 2.5.6 version brought some news about hands. This make me think that the hands are in the scope of ED activities.
  4. Well it is somewhat accurate if you use the finger (and not the ray) to push button, but it requires some work from ED to properly Generally speaking, accuracy and usability is a little out of scope for VRK. I'm mostly interested in bringing hands support to Oculus users. Today is Leap Motion, tomorrow who knows. The point is that without any specific hardware support from ED, VRK is able to integrate any hand controller into the sim and it does this for Oculus too (which at the moment is excluded from almost everything not Oculus approved). This is a side project and I'm looking to something that may become usable every in a long time from now. I will open a thread in input/Output for hands support, maybe we can discuss details there, just to avoid hijacking the kneeboard thread here.
  5. Version 1.3.3.14 is available for download This version will introduces the new pen tablet code that will support multiple pen tablets and harmonize the input configuration. Mind that when upgrading the profiles, the pen tablet must be connected. From this version VRK runs in 64 bit mode, this removes the memory limitation when loading large documents. As a side project, VRK now supports Leap Motion for hands integration. SteamVR users will find a new installer in the VRK zip that will install the driver, Oculus users should enable the hands emulation in the profile. See the Quick Start Guide for more details. Changelog: [1.3.3.14] [NEW] 64 bit application [NEW] Multiple Pen Tablet [FIX] Zoom Reset was still called Zoom Out [FIX] Stick POV [CHG] New Input system (buttons and tablet) [1.3.3.08] [NEW] Leap Motion hands emulation for OculusVR [NEW] Leap Motion driver installer for SteamVR [FIX] WinTab pen tip sensitivity Official download location: https://www.amvi.it/download429-vr-kneeboard.html Donation link: https://tinyurl.com/vrk-donate Discord: https://discord.gg/mxqSSa4 I would like to thank all VRK supporters for their donations and suggestions!
  6. VRK has no conto on your HMD. I see you are using a Reverb so it's SteamVR/WMR. I know there are other users with your setup around here maybe they can provide some help. Is you framerate consistent after VRK start?
  7. It is in the Contacts chapter of the quick start guide. I'm not sure if posting it breaks any forum rules. That's why I didn't add it in the first post.
  8. I just found your video on YouTube. Worth mentioning as I think that you're the first one using double tablet. This is not officially supported in the code yet, but I'm happy that you made it working anyway. Good effect!
  9. Not really, it is because of tablet settings. If you have a Wacom Tablet: be sure that you properly configured the Pen in Wacom Tablet Properties application. Check latest (there was an error in previous documentation) quick start guide for settings. If you have a Huion tablet: check that custom driver is installed. Check Quick start guide A1 / Installation fort the details. If you still have troubles let me know via PM/Discord and I'll do my best to help.
  10. Version 1.3.3.07 is available for download This version will introduce a better switching between kneeboards as well as the improved positioning. Changelog: [1.3.3.07] [NEW] VR Controller positioning of kneeboards [NEW] Mode to change Active kneeboard switching behaviour [CHG] Buttons for manual positioning of kneeboards Official download location: https://www.amvi.it/download429-vr-kneeboard.html Donation link: https://tinyurl.com/vrk-donate I would like to thank all VRK supporters for their donations and suggestions!
  11. I'm finalising the next Active Kneeboard switch behaviour control. Now it's time to share some details with you and look for feedbacks. There will be three things that control it: Master mode which will control the general behaviour of the switch between kneeboards. You will have three choices: Automatic (closer), Automatic (focused) and Manual only. A button/keyboard function that overrides the automatic mode and allows to manually switch between kneeboards. This will cycle between the kneeboards and then goes back to the master mode. If master mode is Manual this function will cycle the kneeboards only. The GUI checkbox that disabled the automatic switching at all (this overrides everything else). Of course when in manual mode (by any means) you can still click on the kneeboard name to set it active. This, in my opinion, should cover almost any use case. Do you have any additional thoughts?
  12. I agree with 1 and 3. Everything can be done by a switching mode selection with several options like: Automatic closer (this is the current behavior) Automatic focused (your option 3) Manual (function on button/keyboard) I'm actively working on kneeboard positioning with VR controller which will make configuration of position and angles obsolete if you have a controller. This feature is almost finished and I could integrate this change easily in that release.
  13. Version 1.3.3.06 is available for download This version will fix some minor problems and introduces some performance improvements and features. Changelog: [1.3.3.06] [FIX] Disabled kneeboards becomes active [NEW] Option to disable stroke rounding [FIX] Cursor to stroke offset [CHG] Better stylus event management [CHG] Configuration cleanup [NEW] Checkbox to disable automatic switch of active kneeboard Official download location: https://www.amvi.it/download429-vr-kneeboard.html Donation link: https://tinyurl.com/vrk-donate I would like to thank all VRK supporters for their donations and suggestions!
  14. 1.3.3.04 Version is available for download This is a quick fix release that addresses a problem causing the pen to stop working after the first active kneeboard switch. Warning: starting from version 1.3, the client/server mode is not included anymore because the development of new features was complicated by this mode. Users utilizing client/server should stay with latest 1.2 release. Changelog: [1.3.3.04] [FIX] Unable to write after first switch of active kneeboard [FIX] Copy from KB1 [1.3.3.03] [NEW] Oculus: option to drop overlay depth information from VR world (DCS 2.5.6 hiding VRK) [FIX] Deadlock when restarting VR and active KB is changed [FIX] KB2 not resetting to proper angle [FIX] Double function events received by panels [FIX] Pen tip function not property reset when switching active KB Official download location: https://www.amvi.it/download429-vr-kneeboard.html Donation link: https://tinyurl.com/vrk-donate I would like to thank all VRK supporters for their donations and suggestions!
  15. Thank you, appreciated! My apologies for all these oscillations, I promise to behave better in the future :music_whistling:
  16. 1.3.3.3 has a confirmed problem that blocks the pen input as soon as the first active kneeboard switch happens. For the bolds, I have a quick fix package here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a8I36HIz_c4zitBAmmcuvyixuVCKg1OK/view?usp=sharing The fix is safe and straightforward, but I cannot completely test it from here. I "urgently" need some feedback to release it via the usual channel.
  17. 1.3.3.03 Version is available for download This release fixes some bugs and adds an option to support DCS 2.5.6 and, generally speaking, to ignore depthmap provided to Oculus compositor. Warning: starting from version 1.3, the client/server mode is not included anymore because the development of new features was complicated by this mode. Users utilizing client/server should stay with latest 1.2 release. Changelog: [1.3.3.03] [NEW] Oculus: option to drop overlay depth information from VR world (DCS 2.5.6 hiding VRK) [FIX] Deadlock when restarting VR and active KB is changed [FIX] KB2 not resetting to proper angle [FIX] Double function events received by panels [FIX] Pen tip function not property reset when switching active KB Official download location: https://www.amvi.it/download429-vr-kneeboard.html Donation link: https://tinyurl.com/vrk-donate I would like to thank again all VRK supporters for their donations and suggestions!
  18. With DCS 2.5.6 VRK is not showing anymore the kneeboards on Oculus. I see that everything is in place but some "layer" has been added which covers the overlays. I'm investigating the problem. SteamVR seems unaffected.
  19. Fix is in the repository (for both Oculus and SteamVR), tomorrow morning I will do some tests. If everything will be good I will drop the patch.
  20. The freeze is something I thought I fixed in the beta, but I already got three reports so obviously not, sorry! It is not because of KB touching it is just a deadlock when my VR subsystem is restarted. This is my highest priority for the next patch. Regarding the double skip, I din't experienced it but I will try.I have the device so I can test autonomously. Sorry for the complications, I hope that the double KB is worth the hassle.
  21. 1.3.3.01 Version is available for download This version includes the support for double kneeboard as well as some bug fixes and improvements. Warning: starting from version 1.3, the client/server mode is not included anymore because the development of new features was complicated by this mode. Users utilizing client/server should stay with latest 1.2 release. Changelog: [NEW] Double VR kneeboard [CHG] Server/client removed [FIX] OculusVR performance improvements [NEW] OculusVR check if DCS_Updater.exe has been selected and replace with DCS.exe [NEW] Page numbers [FIX] DCS loading of campaign mission [FIX] Aspect ratio matching and controls tree cleanup [CHG] Tablet rotation extended to WinTab Official download location: https://www.amvi.it/download429-vr-kneeboard.html Donation link: https://tinyurl.com/vrk-donate I would like to thank again all VRK supporters for their donations and suggestions!
