how does the head tracking lock on work?
timone1002 replied to timone1002's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
ok thanks, looks like i need to do some research into the missles. -
Hello i was playing su27 campaign and i was trying to shoot down some f15s using the head mounted tracking to lock on to planes, after locking on the missles just fire straight, idk if its a bug or not the right missle, the normal tracking works fine, but i wasted half my missles trying to use the head tracking cuz its awesome

When cycling through the plane views after being shot down, when I try to jump to a second su 27, when it puts me in the plane the plane instantly goes into a stall even if it is flying forward at a decent speed, its like the plane just drops vertically from where you take control. This has happened twice, but not everytime

Hello i just got the su 27 module yesterday, so far i have encountered 2 bugs on the campaing, I know for sure on the first mission when rolling out from the parking spot if you go left instead of right, the nose wheel steering/rudder glitches and it pulls the plane uncontrollably to the right until you crash into a hill. Also i just found on the second mission that engines wont start, i tried it on both my keyboard and my hotas x55.

I think it would be cool to add crosswinds (and wind in general) during landing, it would be fun and challenging to land with some heavy cross winds..

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

dual gtx 670 -
yes i think it would be possible for dcs to implement a fps module. you could seperate the graphics between the planes and the infatry. The infantry would have descent graphics at close distance, and poor to no graphics for long distance. with the opposite for planes. and the planes would see a "dumbed down" version of the ground forces graphics. We will see where edge takes us, it might be possible to implement these kind of modules. ARMA is sounding cool, i will have to check it out. Would you recommend 2 or 3?

Probobly recieve death threats from North korea though XD

Yes i think a korean map would be awesome

the more they expand the game the more people will want to play and the more expansions they will be able to have. adding easy to use modding tools would be good because it allows people to have a lot of fun with the game, while keeping the developers creating very serious maps and modules.
-
they need to optomize map making, so you can do things like take topological maps and have a program that generates the basic structure and features of a land mass with certain qualities, i know there are games like mount and blade where you can instantly generate large maps (260 square kilometers) in good detail and use "painting" tools to paint the map with what ever objects you want. if they opened up the game to modders i think the game would expand greatly and you would see a huge influx of people wanting buy the modules to run the many possible games and maps. you could get very creative with this game..
-
yes how open is this game to modders? im sure some modders could make some badass maps.

Virus or computer not fast enough?? - slow frame rate

forgot to finish this, the new motherboard i got bios wasnt updated to run with my cpu, so it wouldnt pass POST either, got another new motherboard and everything works fine, pretty sure the mobo, or cpu fried on my last pc. -
i may consider arma, but i like very realistic simulators that are quite challenging, like dcs. how dynamic and complex is arma?

Hello, i was thinking, with all the passionate people that do free modding for videogames, like new models, textures and programming for games i bet you could find a lot of people that would do extra work for some of the small 3rd party developers making modules for free. of course you would need a filter for talent, but with all the people that are really passionate about videogames and passionate about certain games, im sure 3rd party developers could find people that would do work pro-bono, i know if i could do 3d modeling for games i would do free work for some 3rd party developers just to be involved and help some projects get underway. could be a huge resource for 3rd party developers. infact i may consider doing this as a hobby, i am already very proficient at autodesk inventor, and have made some very detailed models, it would be very fun for me to be apart of some of the games development.

i would prefer larger maps, but with a lot of smaller maps, made for campaign and single or maybe double missions per map would allow for a diversity of places to fly and an evolution of a large war like ww3. it would be awesome if the maps were massive and you could travel deep into russian or american territoy.

thats cool, outlawal2 do you know where i can find some info on the nevada map? its size and overview?
-
yeah thats true, i still think it would be cool to have a sniper simulator though
-
Hello, sounds awesome, i posted this on another thread but i was thinking it would be cool to have a sniper simulator- Going behind enemy lines to scout their positions and radio in their positions to command. Avoiding enemies spotting you, laser "painting" targets for air to ground strikes. And also integrating a sniper simulator. Havin a spotter and adjusting for wind speed, direction, altitude, weapon type, ammunition type, range, breath and heartbeat timing (for pulling the trigger), and adjusting for moving targets like cars using all those things, and incorporate advanced hiding techniques, and firing techniques to avoid enemies spotting muzzle flash and spotting you while you sneak up on them
-
yeah that would be cool too, with lots of smaller maps you could have a large variety of places to fly
-
does combined arms have a sniper simulator? I think it would be a perfect addition to combined arms

Hello, i was thinking it would be cool to create a JTAC scouting and sniper module for DCS world. Having a fps sniper and jtac simultor. Going behind enemy lines to scout enemy positions and radio in there positions to command. Avoiding enemies spotting you. and laser "painting" targets for air to ground strikes. And also integrating a sniper simulator. Having a spotter and adjusting for wind speed, direction, altitude, weapon type, ammuniution type, range, breath and heartbeat timing (for pulling the trigger) and even adjusting for moving targets (like cars) using all those things, and incorporate advanced hiding techniques, and firing techniques to avoid enemies spotting muzzle flash, and spotting you while sneaking up on them. I think that would be a very fun and challenging module.

thanks, i found the folder and beat the mission!

I know this is an off shoot, but i think it would be cool to have a world war 3 campaign in future dcs world maps and modules, with smaller maps. I think it would be a very enjoyable campaign to have a lot missions through a worldwar 3 setting with russia (or maybe china for the far future) using smaller maps for a set of missions. slowly pushing deeper into russia for a feeling of being part of a large world war and carrying out important strikes with multiple types of planes if you have multiple modules. hopefully with EDGE this could allow larger battles. And you could incorporate combined arms for a real tactical ww3 strategic battle experience with a dynamic campaign.
