Virus or computer not fast enough?? - slow frame rate
timone1002 replied to timone1002's topic in Game Performance
So I got my new PC put it all together and I'm having the exact same problem as my last PC... Fans turn on but front LEDs only flicker when turned on or off for a split second and no signal to monitor, I have literally replaced every single component on the PC, new mobo, CPU,ram,GPU,PSU. The only thing I haven't replaced are the fans and the case with the front power buttons and USB/haudio jacks... Could it really be my case/power button that's causing the problems? -

Hello, I'm about to get a new gaming PC and I want to max its potential, I was wondering what the best mods are for dcs world in terms of gameplay, texture packs and other mods?
-
Yes I think I'm going to get the core i5 4690k because it is unlocked and easy to over clock to 4.8ghz, also I don't really need the hyper threading in the i7 and the fps improvement isn't much. With the MSI z87 mpower mobo that's made for easy overclocking, buy a second ssd down the road and put the 2 in raid 0 and then eventually buy a second gtx670 for sli, and I think I will have a pretty ridiculously fast pc
-
I would get two 60gb ssds and do a raid 0 array. If you only use one ssd it will perform possibly slightly less than your two 1tb HHD in raid 0 they both run about 300 mb/s, while with two ssds in raid 0 you will get close to 600 mb/s

That's what I'm talking about, I think it would be cool to add force feedback gloves that would constrain the movement of your fingers and put pressure actuators in the finger tips to give you a real tactile feel of tholings your grabbing for a full experience, you've got the sights the sounds all you need is the feel
-
You could even integrate force feedback into the glove so it would feel like your flipping switches, I think the oculus and having some gloves like that is the way to go for future high end Sims since the oculus turns everything 3d not just the cockpit, and having just a force feedback position tracking glove would allow you to feel and interact with any cockpit not just the one you build for your Sim.

Hello, I thought of a cool idea, that could be cool to expand upon for an addition to having the oculus rift in dcs. Since you can't see ur key board with the oculus. I was thinking you could put a track ir on your hand and set it up to control the mouse that way you could use your hands to select things in the cockpit. I think it would cool if dcs or somebody made an extension where you could out on a glove and it would animate the hand and arm in the game and you could select all the switches.

Hello I started a thread yesterday about frame rate problems and my PC died in the process, something went wrong with CPU and or motherboard, I have some spare cash and a belated bday present so I'm thinking about investing in a new CPU/motherboard. Dcs is my most intensive/ demanding game so I am wondering what would be a good motherboard/ CPU to get. I have about a 500$ budget. I'm thinking about an i5 or i7. But I'm not sure if I need an i7, I heard with core i5 4690k you can overclock it to 4.3 GHz, so ide be saving 100$ there, and I was reading that the only real advantage the I 7 has is hyperthreading, which most games don't use so the general fps improvent is only 2 or 3. Does dcs use hyper threading or should I stick with the i5? I don't know much about mother boards but I think I have around 150$ to spare on one, also are there any other CPUs you might recommend?

Virus or computer not fast enough?? - slow frame rate

So I checked myngpu with my roommates computer and it works fine so I think the problem is with the motherboard/CPU, weird that it crapped out while I was checking for frame rate problems. I'm probably just going to go and upgrade my PC with a new mother board/CPU, any suggestions? I have a 500$ budget, I prefer to buy things in eBay cuz I can get it cheaper so my budget if I were to buy the same things new would probably be around 7-800 -

Yeah I already changed it to high performance mode but it only increased fps by 2. I've got a bigger problem though now, I went through and cleaned my whole PC of dust, after I got the black power savings screen, and bought a new power supply just in case. But after cleaning the whole thing out with air cans and it still has the black screen saying autidetect power saving mode... So that do if my GPU has now gone bad or my motherboard or CPU, I'm going to try my roommates GPU now -

Now I'm having big problems. My screen shut off saying autodetect entering power savings mode, the PC still runs but I can't see anything. I think something might be wrong with my GPU. I cracked open the case and there's a tonne of dust on the GPU and mother board. -

also its stays at around 19c to 22 c but not at full load the cpu wont go to ful load even when running dcs, and neither will the ram. -

thanks, yeah i checked my task manager, and while there are alot of things running in the background, most of which idk what is critical processes or backround programs its only using 10- 20% cpu power and 2gb of ram. -

my cpu is amd fx 4130 quadcore 3.8 ghz, and i have a dell power supply that is 750 W, and a gtx 670 gpu, heres a link you can see my full system info in a lot of detail http://speccy.piriform.com/results/pH8WNYOANn8UTYKK6Dyl26j -

i did at first, but i disconnected the other monitor, and it didnt affect frame rate, i was looking at my system performance during the game, and it says its only using 4.5 gb of ram, and thats after the 2gb of ram that my pc uses at baseline, so its 0nly using 2.5 gb of ram for the game, which seems low, also the cpu is only working 50-60% its usage, so it seems like the game isnt telling the pc to start using its full capabilities to run the game, which makes me think its a virus issue... -

yeah i turned all the settings down to low, i changed the resolution to as low as it would go which was 1080 from 1600 and the frame rate is the same, yeah im thinking its the cpu, because even after i got the gpu back up to its normal clock speed of 900mhz from 324 the frame rate was the same, and the cpu cooling fan isnt revving up at all like it used to, so i think it might be throttling. -

captain, what are the specs on ur system, also are you getting those frame rates during free fly, or during a mission. i just checked the frame rate on free fly, and with the lowest graphics settings, imgetting 20 fps on the ground, and 30 in the sky.
