  1. Is the stick properly secured to the base? Check it is screwed down tightly.
  2. I had the same experience last night, except I was in an su 25. Disconcerting and mysterious. I've abandoned campaign for now and am flying individual missions again.
  3. Figured it out! Deactivating f7 hot key in advanced settings worked!! THANK YOU....it was frustrating the crap out of me!
  4. Awesome! How do I do that?
  5. That's what it's supposed to be, but I get nothing. Nada. Zip. Any ideas?
  6. My F7 key does not do anything. As per Bunyap's ca series it should give me am external view of the selected unit. Has this changed?
  7. Check out bun yaps "on the range" video on the subject..the best explanation I've seen!
  8. Loved the Huey " test flight" video! Even better the "initial set up" video....took me quite some time to figure out how that whole "assigning buttons" thing works...your vid would have saved me lots of time. My biggest reason for not "playing " with other dcs aircraft is the hassle of assigning the controls. Clear demonstrations help tremendously. The more basic your vids are, the more I seem to learn. Thanks
  9. Could you please describe the problems?
  10. Bunyap..want to thank you personally. Your tutorials are extremely useful and very entertaining..ESPECIALLY when things don't go quite right! I love to hear the confusion and frustration in your voice...I can relate so well! thanks again and keep em coming!
  11. Using a 27" asus HDMI monitor..says something about 1080 p...don't know what that means but it's pretty big. Would love to go bigger or three screens but I'm a computer illiterate and can't deal with the frustrating, scary technical crap. I'm happy my rig works as well as it does, track ir and the tm warthog hotas are friggin GREAT as are the entire dcs series.
  12. Thanks for the awesome responses. I must confess that I tried instant action with labels this morning, before reading your responses. It was great to be able to turn the tables and be an instant fighter ace, BUT, I will turn them off...er...soon..
  13. So I'm slowly getting comfortable in my new cockpit and adapting to "fast jet-itis"... Biggest problem right now is aquisition of targets and once I see them maintaining visual contact after the merge. I get very disoriented and can't find the bad guys until they light me up, usually from my six..not good. Would you guys recommend turning on labels for a while, as a crutch, till I get the hang of it?
  14. Thanks guys. Will try all the above over next few days. One comment...been flying a10c for a couple of years, off and on. Switched recently to F 15' just for fun. On returning to the a10 it felt like flying through molasses....feels so low and slow! But it's a great feeling to be back in the familiar cockpit!
  15. I find that if my targets are close to each other I can't clearly define them on the radar screen. When I try to designate primary, secondary, etc , I end up designating the same target twice and wind up in STT. How do you avoid this?
  16. I'm in a similar position. Been loving the a10 and would like to give the f-15 a try. I'm a computer moron and can't figure how to get my tm warthog hotas set up to work properly with anything but the a10. Instructions ARE vague, at best. Any premade profiles that will work out there? Is there a simple way?
  17. Am I correct? Cbu 87 and 103 simply scatter a crapload of bomblets over target area, so wind not as much a factor Cbu 97 and 105 are "sensor fused" and use parachutes and active sensor bomblets , wind more a factor and take longer to impact. Yes?
  18. I'm nobody to instruct anybody BUT had some great success and great fun this morning using cbu 105's in the "surrounded " mission. After many months using labels to make things easy I'm finally done with them. I like this mission because it's easy to judge n, s, e and west calls from jtac....helping to gain a whole new degree of situational awareness and using zoom to spot targets with mark ii eyeballs. Anyhow I would find the moving column, simply guess by their speed and my distance how far ahead on road to place spi and dropped with ccrp..managed a good hit on convoy after convoy....GreatFun and fireworks! Still sometimes have to cheat with active pause..but I'm getting better! Also adjusted HOF to 900 feet to restrict hits to road area and decrease waiting time for the show! Love this sim!
  19. Took a few months away from a-10... Just jumped back in yesterday. I'm loving it even better this time around..after a couple of hours to reestablish the neural connections more and more is opening up to me...seem to remember more than I realized and this knowledge base is inching me further along...this sim is just freakin awesome and the ability to watch the "pros" do stuff on u tube makes it so possible to learn..I remember the dark old days of Falcon 3 and DOS...my, how far we've come! Thank you, DCS!
  20. So after about a year of fiddling around with the a10 I'm finally gaining a bit of proficiency...decided to give the f15 a whirl....being an old guy and very "computer challenged" I am at a loss how to program my thrust master stick and throttle with the keyboard commands to operate this new vehicle. I was totally spoiled (and thankful) for the plug and play feature of the a 10 sim and the controllers. Do I need to install the software that came from thrust master (target, or something?) to do this or is there an easier (or better way? Thanks guys!
  21. My problem with the track ir which prompted my original question seems resolved ( just closed the blinds on window, duh)but just ordered a track clip pro anyway as I want to see if I like it.....can i mount it on eyeglass frames or do I have to use a headset.....and what do you mean by "lowest threshold"... Is it adjustable in some way?
  22. Thanks guys! Did not realize the proximity of the window to my newly positioned cockpit would cause the track ir to bug out. I'll close the blinds!
  23. Does the pro clip work any better than the hat thingy? Lately my track IR going a bit crazy at times. Very frustrating.
  24. AAR?
  25. Thanks. I am seriously " computer challenged" but I am getting braver. Will attempt this tomorow!
