  1. use one GPWIZ and a bodnar and phidget 64LED, indeed could have used single ground, but had the double stranded wire so might as well use.
  2. has been awhile since i updated; have built UFC finally, and am working to wire/put together rest of panels, but realized i need to rebuild both my consoles, as they are they will not hold the panels as would be preferred, so that will be next project. slow goes the love of the A-10c LOL.
  3. Never noticed this, same for me with my TMHW, no movement of right stick strange that it would work if windows don't see it moving lol....strange.
  4. very nice, glad it helped out. Have seen others posting about same issue with servo wonder if that is major solution(?)
  5. Thought the same thing so starting thinking about how Helios all together talks to phiget....and desided to snoop around the files within both programs. replaced Helios phidget.dll files with the ones that comes with ph download and bam! works like a champ. Good to know for anyone who comes across this issue as well. Thanks again for all the help!!
  6. Just to ensure it wasn't my brain, did exactly as you, step by step (all new kid on the block style too lol), and still nothing am really starting to think win8 hates my face....ah also tried disabling UAC all the way and ensured in my main profile DCS configuration is up to date. also checked just to make sure I wasn't really loosing it and made sure ph software after all that could still light up leds and it does with no issue.... Anyone else seen issues with win8?
  7. definitely have the 64bit version, 64 bit os so 32 wouldn't let me install. Didn't know about just clicking the led would light them up, definitely not seeing that. I have now tried as others said and closed the PH software; I have also tried just running it in tray with no config open and still either way get no LED. I have now tried also setting helios to run as admin and tried different steps of compatibility from xp forward. I then tried having ph in tray and setting that as well with some compatability setting. If I had another windows machine would indeed try and test it but both machines I have currently run win8...will continue to try different stuff and see if I can't get it to work, thanks again all for all the advice and assistance.
  8. thanks guys for the assistance, and I did try all the above. Like I said, have phidget software running, no trackir running, not even DCS, just helios. Made new profile set up just one toggle switch, made it work with my GPWIZ controller for a real switch and works fine. Made switch turn on one of the LED groups and nothing, removed GPWIZ as part of switch making me have to click switch on helios to try and still nothing. I can control the lights via the ph software, but still getting nothing through HELIOS for some reason
  9. So thought perhaps dcs may be issue so setup clean profile with a switch to try and turn on an led and still nothing...am starting to think must be some setting not letting Helios talk to the phidget board
  10. yeah should definitely be sticky, great video OutLaw
  11. Have done some looking around and maybe I just can't find the answer But I have set up HELIOS along with my new phidgets led board to run my caution panel and for the life of me can not get helios or DCS to turn LEDs on..... I have insured that I do not run TRACKIR while testing, have gone and assigned everything inside HELIOS profile (pictures of settings attached), but for some reason cannot get a response form helios into the real world...I can get the lights to run from the PH software and have insured that dialog is closed prior to starting helios.... Any help on this would be so greatly appreciated....
  12. My setup :)
  13. Yeah used some dbl sided tape at first I had it screw in top two hole on front console bit it made it hard to get screens to fit correctly so decided on screen itself was best solution
  14. new work completed...for now! Well after some major overhauling of the front panel and making some switch panels the project has made quiet the transformation, and now not looking to bad. Have also added in the front console switches just no pictures of it yet, will upload some soon. :) :pilotfly:
  15. Like your set up CALI, still gotta come up with something better for myself than what i have now, was "spure of the moment" to figure out how to do it but now that pit is built and operational have time to fine tune everything
  16. Usually I tend to just use one of them for the sim, while with the other i have up itunes or the flight manual or w/e Am wanting to hopefully put a projector of some sort behind dash to project gauges and what not perhaps, but mainly i wanted something that just wasn't for flight sims, but sorta multi-role, hence the keyboard tray that can move down just above the joystick to play and do other things. I tend to program alot so needed to have the multi-use ability. I also hope to upgrade at some point to a larger upper screen and than perhaps doing away with dual monitors all together, haven't quiet decided yet As far as getting in the way, the tray dose tend to get in the way, though i couldn't think of another way to mount the keyboard to keep it multi-use friendly....perhaps I will think of something one day LOL, or find something that would work far better than the tray on track.
  17. Just thought i would share my Sim pit with everyone here since i pulled most of the ideas from here. First time working on anything wood, so not to bad! A big thanks to Dimebug for his free designs, sucked they were all metric, but converting wasnt to painful! Gotta love being stuck with standard. I can upload and email anyone all the conversions i did if anyone wants them. Now just have to wait and get some small monitors for the MFD's and I will be set. Then i suppose it will be on to the console switch building and the outer skin of the pit/plane so it looks like the real thing from the outside. after reworking on front console: after adding caution, dash switches and some other stuff:
