Great stuff mate,
Now all I need to know are the steps for applying the uvw to it
-
Hi Joey
So these's are the steps I use
1 Make the box
2 Convert to editable poly
3 Unwrap the box,Rendering a uvw template,texture the template in photoshop saving as a bmp 24bit 1024x1024
4
5 Apply the texture to the box by drag and dropping it on there
Then I export in edm format and copy the texture to Eagle Dynamics\edModelViewer\Bazar\TempTextures
Also I'm not changing any of the names ie: Map#1,01-defualt
Hope the pictures help if you need anything more just say
Cheers

Yeah the texture is in the model viewer temp texture folder I think the problem may that I'm not applying the bitmap correctly
Can you give me a simple guide on just texturing a box just so I compare it with mine
I know its a lot to ask but need to end my pain
Cheers

Hi all,
I really want to start modeling in dcs,My plan was to start as simple as possible.
So to start I have downloaded the latest plugins for max 2010 and standalone model viewer. All have installed correctly apart from when starting ModelViewer I get a message saying(Can't load Config/ModelViewer.lua!)
But I have carried on anyway by making a box in max and adding a bmp 64x64 24bit to it then using the make cool button setting leaving the Material Attributes at default.
I export the model using the ed model format into a folder on the desktop,Copy the textures to Eagle Dynamics\edModelViewer\Bazar\TempTextures Open the modelviewer load the model.
I can see the model but get the missing textures instead of my own.
Hope someone with a bit of knowledge and bit of time can help my out.I'm pretty sure its only a few things I'm doing wrong
Thanks in advance

Please keep going with the b-17,This would be a fantastic addition to the game with dcs ww2 or without it.
It's models like these that keep me flying in the hope that more content will become available.
Great work guys.

Hi all,
Forgive me for being stupid but I don't understand user flags.
I am trying to use geloxo's great script for my mission,The only thing I'm getting stuck on is this line.
CountLogistics("triggerName",flagLog) Where: "triggerName" = name of trigger to supervise flagLog = userflag to count the number of logistic items inside trigger Example: CountLogistics("trigger1",300) this will count the items inside "trigger1" and store the values in the flag 300 (which can be accessed by mission)
What is flag 300????
Thanks in advance

I've been very curious about this one:
Does the mustang really flutter and roll upside down when you do a fighter pilots 180? (ie roll the aircraft 90 degrees and pull hard on the stick). If so how much backward pressure can be applied before that happens?
I also would like to know the answer to this one,Good question. As well as how real the engine management of a real P-51 compares to the game.

Hi all,
Can someone explain how the radio system works
ie how do i ask permission to land form the base?
How to tell my wing man to attack or rejoin etc?
I understand that the radio in the cockpit has buttons A-D and theres a mic switch on the throttle,But after I choose a channel and press the mic switch what then?
Sorry if this has been covered before.
Thanks in advance

God thought it was only a market thing,That makes the P-51 even more special.
The fact that the dev's have first hand knowledge is great advantage not just the book and drawings source.
Cheers Nate for the history.

Hi all,
As a avid Duxford fan I'm interested to know what connection Flying Legends has with DCS?
Also has Duxford had any involvement in P-51 i.e sounds, technical data and such?
Maybe someone from F/L can fill me in.Think this maybe useful info for other fans of the game and airshows

Ok thanks for clearing that up Nate,Just 1 more thing when closing the cockpit the engine sound cuts out then comes back when shut.(This is game mode).
Please dont think i'm moaning just trying help
-
Done some testing and I think I know why.
When I first made the thread I had it on game mode and your right its still there,However when in simulation mode its more prominent.
Is this due to the full flight model in sim mode??
-
Cheers for the replys will have good look and listen today.

Hi guys,

Hi Bob,
No I have tried every day for the last 2weeks watched just about every vid on youtube but still no luck. In the pictures I have shown no one has said that my method is wrong so not to sure what to do next ??
All my textures are in the temp texture folder in the md viewer
Its as if 3dmax is not exporting the bitmap ??
