  1. It's almost sad, in a way. We have these two badass fighters, each one representing the air power of their respective nations, yet the two have never actually faced each other in a fight. A part of me is secretly hoping for a major war soon, while both are still in service, just so we could get some real world data. While the rest of me tries to figure out if there has ever been a worse reason for a war--oh, wait. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Golden_Stool
  2. Oh, um, I was under the impression that this is a thing. F-15 being considered as pretty damn effective. Y'know, with that over 100 kill score without losses and all. (ok, most of that skeet shooting down in Middle East, but whatever bloats your frag score, I guess)
  3. I managed to complete the mission without too much weird stuff going on. Though during my half-a-dozen retries it appeared the order in which the flights approach the target is affected by when exactly you order the push. Giving the order 0720 sharp seemed to take the SEAD in first, with the Strike Eagles in tow. A few minutes early and the strike flights wandered into the range of the SA-10 before the Falcons were done. Either that or I just lucked out on a random chance. Anyways, I didn't see an instance where the Falcons completely failed to fire the HARMs.
  4. Far be it for me to butt in on the discussions of moderators and veterans with my uninformed ramblings, but I figure there might be a reason to why the F-15 is considered as the most successful fighter in history, while Flanker is usually remembered as that Russian jet that keeps crashing into the crowd during air shows every other year. But maybe that's just me. Proceed.
  5. I've been wondering what's up with Flaming Cliffs checking for the original Lomac, thanks for clearing that out for me. And then confusing me some more on what exactly is whose property and would Eagle Dynamics juridically even able to give DCS-treatment for Lock-On planes. As opposed to apparently many members of this here community, I'm actually looking forward to FC3. Simply because as much as I do enjoy the current DCS titles, I've always been into flight sims for fighter jets and dogfights and that stuff. Close air support is fine and I don't mind spending all my spare time for months just to learn the basics, I prefer it that way, but at the end of the day I just want to blow up some Flankers. If DCS: F-15C was announced, I'd never be able to get all that lady-spunk off my chair. Or just about any air superiority craft by this point. I'm getting sick of turning tail and running every time my RWR beeps, and I still haven't managed to unlearn my hardwired response to incoming air threats of bumrushing them and murdering them dead.
