  1. Was that a new map in the F-16 Toss video by Wags? Having spent a lot of time there, it looked a lot like Afghanistan.
  2. Does anyone know where to find what DCS uses as the basic weight and moment for the 64? I was messing around with the PERF page and noticed that the weight is off from the planning data in the ME. It would be nice to have accurate performance data but I don’t know what DCS is using for the aircraft data.
  3. In my opinion, they need to get the aircraft right both systems and flight model. Once that’s released in a complete state then work on multi crew. As much as I can’t wait to fly this aircraft, polychop needs to make up for the state of the Gazelle for the last several years. Getting the Kiowa right will be a big step toward fixing that reputation.
  4. Those first two pictures are OH-58A/C, different models and a much different cockpit. The only time a kiowa, or Apache for that matter, will fly anyone on the wings is to extract downed crewmembers from another aircraft. This is not a normal task for this aircraft and was developed as a contingency to prevent capture in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  5. Will the Kiowa have the ability to buddy lase for AI aircraft? Would be nice to put a team of Apaches behind a hill then lase targets for them from a different position.
  6. With the dynamic campaign around the corner and update to the supply system, will this include ground vehicles requiring fuel and ammo resupply? This dynamic could add some interesting game play for the ground war once they dynamic campaign is release.
  7. I agree, this is a much needed addition that will add more depth to Combined Arms. I would like to see several additional infantry class added to the game, foremost being a laser designator. Beyond that, crew served weapons would be nice as well.
  8. I realize that I was just trying to make a point. There's a better picture in the link that Flagrum posted. My point is this is not a realistic configuration for defending an aircraft from an IR guided missile. The flare shoots off to far from the heat source and in the wrong direction. I'm pretty sure the Iraqi Air Force is currently flying UH-1H and you can see the flare canister on the side of the aircraft just below the exhaust.
  9. Its one of the new options under perform task for a waypoint and in the trigger tab on the main unit page. They added embark to transport and disembark from transport. The UH-1 also has an option under perform task for embarking. I'll attach the mission I've been working on trying to get this to work. So far I've gotten the first whole group to get it but I needed to reposition the aircraft a few times before they finally all got in. Once dropped off the other groups would do the previously stated actions. Air Assualt Test.miz

    Flare Cans

Can you fix the direction the flare cans are facing? They should be pointed forward and down or removed and flush mounted inside the tail boom. Reworked chaff and flare rejection was listed in the updates for 1.2.8. If ED is simulating flare rejection at all in the IR guided missiles, the UH-1 would be hit every time with the current configuration. The whole point of the flare is to trick the missile into thinking that its the aircraft. If the missile sees a heat source travel in a radically different direction (i.e. straight back) from what it's tracking it will reject it and continue tracking the original heat source. I've been trying to find a picture of a Huey with flare cans installed but I've been unsuccessful. Every UH-1 I've seen with flares installed have always been flush mounted in the tail boom just behind the exhaust. If I'm wrong about this please disregard.
  11. I know it still a WIP but thought I'd mention it anyway. I've been trying to set up a mission to pick up troops at a location then drop them off somewhere else. So far I've only been able to get the troops into the UH-1 once. Every other time they walk up like they're going to get it then just stand there and twitch. The one time I have gotten them to get in I flew to the drop off point. The only option was for an emergency egress. I selected this and only one of the four troops got out and ran away.
  12. I'm an Army pilot, I'm not sure how they do it in the Air Force but during the day anti collision lights only while engines are operating. At night anti collision lights on, during start up until ready to taxi position lights flash then steady once moving.
  13. Look in your settings to see if you have birds turned on. I had this setting enabled when I first started playing and nearly everytime I rotated on takeoff one of my engines failed on me. When I put birds down to zero it stopped happening.
